Tonight DH made chicken cutlets and mac and cheese as dd is heading back to school next week and it’s one of her favorites.
Sounds like matters are stabilizing on your end; so hearteningDidn't intend to stay at my parents tonight so last minute pivot. Dad wanted Jersey Mikes which DH and I have never had before. I had a kid's meal turkey sandwich and DH had a cheesesteak.
I have a stew recipie that calls for celeriac-such a wonderful addition cubed inMade a salad of celeriac as the main ingredient that was much like a slaw.
Arrabbiata sauce
Oooh, that sounds good!Tonight is chili night. The one I make has no beans, ground beef and sliced smoked sausage.
DS has requested it for next week, so I will be making it again on Sunday for him.
I use an Instant Pot.
Okay your writing in this post makes me think of the little voice in my head that talks back to meShould have made it a resolution because I'm clearly having no problem keeping up my unmotivated and lazy attitude toward meal planning and prep. Just going to roast a chicken and some potatoes. Thought about a salad but think I might just steam some broccoli instead. Warm everything sounds better in this weather.
I'm so sorry your family is going through this. Having two parents /grandparents declining rapidly at the same time is too much for anyone to handle. Virtual hugs to all of you.Tonight I'll use some of yesterday's leftover chicken to cobble together a soup of some type, I'll figure out exactly what when I'm forced across that bridge later. Zero problems here keeping the Too Lazy to Plan and Make Dinner Resolution -- so lazy I didn't even get around to making the resolution until yesterday. I'm cranky about the weather being so cold and some snow arriving today, minor amount, not a storm just enough to be a bother; MIL situation still stuck in complete limbo; and my own mother has gone entirely off the rails to the point she was nasty enough to make my youngest DD snap during an after work visit to drop off things, pick up things, chat and begin sprucing up her room for Valentine's decor.
Poor DD was so shaken up she cried herself out last night and could barely explain what happened on the phone. She was actually considering calling out for her first time ever today since she's been in this teaching position. Send some good thoughts she has a better day at work today. She teaches special ed students in high school and the majority of her students have difficult home situations and/or emotional difficulties at the root of many of their disabilities. Yesterday she dealt with a student unburdening themself to her about some really dark issues, so she was not girded up to deal with my mom's onslaught of negativity and no one being able to please her. DD's just leveled that MIL no longer remembers her and my mother has become unrecognizable as the grandma who was always incredibly tight with both my daughters.
2025 needs some sunshine and rainbows, stat.
Thank you. It's actually three of them, believe it or not. FIL is 91 and has had a rough patch over the past couple years also. Some of his issues got stabilized over the past several months, but the stress of MIL's even steeper decline during the same timeframe is not helping to keep him status quo.I'm so sorry your family is going through this.
