They are dill pickles but I made bread and butter last weekend ( he is having a bumper crop!)

I was at Abbots yesterday! It was delicious! I’m not sure if you heard but Fords had a dispute with their landlord and didn’t open their shack this year (their full service restaurant Black and Blue is still open) hoping their shack finds a new location for next year.

We are going to The Place next weekend. I’m not sure if you have been there (not on the water) but it’s super fun. They supply the lobster and corn and you bring everything else. You sit on tree stump.

Yesssss, I know The Place too but I hadn’t heard about Fords 😬 Here’s hoping on this end too. My son will be back in NY next week and I think he owes me a CT road trip; let’s hope he values his life and agrees…oops.

I had a 1/2 cup of ratatouille left after portioning it for the freezer. So I heated a Hummel Bros hotdog (if you’re going to eat something “bad” for you it should be the best, 😆) and put the ratty on top with some sautéed onions.
No frankfurter roll to go with it but it was still delish.
 
Busy day, got up early made my shopping list, did some walking exercise to the start of the market, plopped in my chair (too crowded to walk) and bought some beautiful produce. No parsnip which was on the list but don’t remember why, lol but it’s probably an item needed later.

Made two batches of caponata; one with, one w/o raisins and put some on my dinner plate (the one with raisins, yum) to eat with broiled scrod. Ate a peach for dessert.
 
I came home from vacation yesterday so today it's back to healthier, "real" meals. Supper tonight was chicken breast pounded thinly and sauteed in garlic olive oil, sauteed corn/peppers/onions, and spinach mini-ravioli from Trader Joe's. Today I went to the farmer's market and bought some beautiful tomatoes, so tomorrow will be BLTs (or BLCheese, as the Resident 8 year old calls them- he doesn't do raw tomatoes)! Maybe not totally healthy, but beats eating "out" almost every night for 10 days!
 
Nobody was home to cook for last night, so I just had a granny smith with peanut butter and some almonds.

Tonight I will make eggs benedict with the leftover fajita roast as the meat portion, a fruit salad, and maybe some hashbrowns. Kid isn't going to be home tonight, though, so maybe I will just end up doing fajita salads again..who knows.
