Burgers on the grill for me and DH with assorted toppings to our liking. Smilies in the air fryer. Made it just before it started raining.
You planned better than me with the weather!Burgers on the grill for me and DH with assorted toppings to our liking. Smilies in the air fryer. Made it just before it started raining.

I hope things improve for your parents soon.We went to my parents to help out my mom since she's dealing with a lot with my dad. DH and I made crab with pasta. It was well enjoyed so I'm glad.
Lentils are beautiful aren’t they? You’ve inspired me to cook some red lentils later in the weekI made a lentil stew/soup in the instant pot. I'm not much of a cook but I think I did pretty well on this one. I'll put this in the repeat category.
One go to soup!? Hard to say, lol. I love making and eating soup year round but the must have for me is homemade stocks. September is coming and traditionally it’s my half year mark for “liquid gold production”. Since it coincides with the time I frequently make and freeze roast pork, Shanghai style, I’m going to say wonton soup with noodles (leaning into carbs, uh oh, lol). That sounds perfect for this weather! I’m thinking of making a big pot of tomato basil soup and maybe some grilled cheese on the side. Cozy food for a cozy night. What’s your go-to soup?

Your state has been on my mind and in the local news quite a bit; made the front page of the NYTimesMy original plan was burgers with Mac salad and capris salad but the rain continues. I can’t complain parts of CT got 12+ inches of rain yesterday. The flooding and damage is awful.
I ended up making broccoli and cheddar stuffed chicken breasts with rice pilaf and peas.
