Tues 7th December 2010

As is becoming a bit of a theme we leisurly get up and have breakfast. We talked Cameron into letting us wash his face as the facepaint was starting to crack now and also I was a little worried about how is skin was going to tolerate being covered for so long!! Cam to our surprise allowed it to be took off with very little fight and said it was ok because he could wear Jeffs armbands now!!

If Im entirely honest my whole body wanted a day of rest but we had had so many of them we were starting to run out of days to get everything done!
So just before 1pm I was talked into going to Epcot to do just the future world part!! They agreed that if I struggled we could come home!!

Now the one thing I havent mentioned in this trippie yet is just how bitterly cold it was.The temperatures dropped on 1st December and we only had a weekend after that that had temps anywhere near comfortable. It obviously didnt spoil our holiday but it did mean that staying out after 4pm meant that we needed full winter ensemble and then more!! As soon as we arrived in Epcot today I was saying how I couldnt feel my toes as the walk from the car to the entrance had quite literally numbed them to death.
The boys started shouting that spaceship Earth had to be the first stop and I was right behind them as at least it was an inside attraction that may just warm us up for a few minutes!!

Now the boys insisted we ride several times and on our last mind numbing go I realised the attraction to this ride was that the boys were changing where they lived so when the ride finished they were doubled over laghing at the map that would take them to the wrong place !!

Oh and the fact they would cover their faces for the picture so they got a random peson for the future bit and Cams always seemed to be GINGER !! Which they found hysterical - small things and small minds is all I can say !!

So we move away from spaceship earth and hurry to the next indoor thing I can see - INNOVENTIONS.
We had never been in here before but again it was warm and warmth was good with me!!
We played the fire game and the Piggy bank race where Keira fell in love with the piggy bank and was very dissapointed at the end to realise you dont get to keep the pig!!

The boys worked as a team and by some miracle actually saved enough for a return trip to Florida !!! GO GUYS !!

So now I am getting brave and say I will go out to the cold again and we headed towards Test Track. I was worried about Keira not making the height limit but she just scrapped in and we were on our way!!

We fill the one car which is always good for the picture at the end. Keira loved this ride and kept her hands high in the air all the way round!! The part outside was bracing to say the least :lmao:
As we got off the kids declared we were going straight back round for another go before we could say anything they had took Keira by the hand and gone !!
So after our second turn at Test track we did the obligatory pictures in the cars

The boys were now asking about Mission Space (aka Mission barf in a bag) there was no way I was going back on it but Wayne said he would take the boys as he had never experienced the orange side !! The girls waved Bye to the boys and headed to the hot chocolate stand. We sat enjoying hot chocolate and popcorn in peace.
The boys managed to survive and noone was sick so we made our way round the corner to Ellens energy adventure. Just before we got there Keira managed to fall over her own feet and grazed her knee quite badly. The fact it was soo cold also meant that she screamed the most chilling sceam and I was unsure if she had done anything more serious but thoughta case of dramaqueenitis had probably took hold.
So we abandon the ride and head to first Aid at the very least I wanted to clean it up and be able to see what she actually done.
The lady in first Aid was fab I explained I just wanted an antiseptic wipe and a warm up so we could see what Keira had actually done!
She kept Keira amused while i cleaned her up and as we suspected Keira was at her drama queen best and it was just a graze!!
So to cheer her up we head to the character spot!!
Keira insisted on telling every character that they were her favourite just so she could get a bit of extra attention. When we got to Goofy all the kids were joining in wih her except cameron!!
So Goofy greets the 3 kids who all look at him and say Goofy your my favourite then Cameron who says Your not my favourite, in fact your not even on my list on favourites!!! :lmao::lmao:
Goofy turned his back and pretended to walk off !! Dan and keira were shouting come back Goofy we love you!!!
We were laughing so hard and when he did return he kept standing in the way of Cam - you could hear the chuckling from Goofy the whole time!!
(Photopass pics will be added)

So after exiting here it was beyond freezing and we needed another indoor attraction - The Land building called !!

We have never been on any of the attractions in here and I learnt very quickly why that was !!

Soaring made me feel as sick as a dog and at one point i genuinly was worried about being sick on the people below us !! Cameron kept shouting at me not to go to sleep but closing my eyes was the only way I managed to get through the ride.
Circle of life is the cheesiest film about helping nature ever and Im sorry I didnt get the appeal of Living with the land either - at one point I really did nearly fall asleep :lmao: on the plus point it was warm in all 3 attractions!!
When we exited Living with the Land the lady behind us was talking to her partner saying it was the best ride in the whole of epcot! Without thinking I just turned round and looked at her and said " Really ??"
Wayne whisked me away quick :lmao:

As we exited the land Pavillion it was 7pm and far too cold to hang around here any longer so we skipped illuminations and went bak to the villa for warmth, food and for me most definatly sleep !!

Day 17 HERE

Thanks for sharing again. We had 3 cold days when we went. I remember being glad to get in carousel of progress for a warm on a mk night. The lack of humidity was a bonus though.

Cam was funny with Goofy and him not even being on his list of favourites.

Forgot to say how bad the hard rock was with Kiera's meal. Shocking.

Orlando holidays can be tiring. When we first used to go we left the hotel for breakfast at 7 and returned at 11pm, I don't think I could do that any more.

It sounds like you packed a lot into your afternoon at Epcot. I don't get Living with the Land either :confused3

We've never been to Florida in the cold but it doesn't sound like much fun. I think we'll stick to October and May :goodvibes

(Louise, you may have risked your popularity with that comment about Soarin'. It's one those "we really LOVE it" rides. But never mind. Like you, not everyone does.)

I've only been to WDW in December once (late December, 2009) and managed to stay warm by heeding the warnings of others who'd been there in winter. I left my sandals and shorts at home and dressed like I was going to Colorado, the only time I've ever worn layered sweaters and wool socks in Florida.

Those are clever boys you have, to have figured out a way to game the Spaceship Earth computer!

oh no Louise, soarin is a favorite of mine, especially without the dangling feet

susa

I didn't feel sick on Soarin', but I sure was let down by it. The things I read about it on here hyped it up so much that when I got off I was extremely disappointed with it!

Sounds like it was really cold that day Louise, don't blame you for heading off for some warmth! :)

I dont get living with the land, but my Hubby loves it, and makes us ride it at least twice. The boys and I are always trying to pretend its shut for refurbishment ;)

Lol, Louise I love Soarin. Just make sure to issue me a reminder not to sit below you though - just in case :lmao:

Keira made me laugh with the drama queen antics (I have one of those too and used to joke that I could get her a job in Hollywood and live a leisurely life on the proceeds :rolleyes1)

I keep forgetting you went so late in November. I know it does get very cold there in winter but having never experienced it, it is so strange to think of being at Disney with winter clothes on.
