You how these things are never planned...

Behold Lilly-Belle! DH and I were working in the yard yesterday when this stray comes be-bopping along. I've never seen this dog in the neighborhood before. We tried ignoring her and even shooing her, but she stubbornly insisted on following us around all day and then sleeping in the shade of our front porch.

Our other two dogs decided they like her and she is the FRIENDLIEST lil' thing ever. Unfortunately she acted like she thought we were going to hit her the first time I went to pet her, but once she figured out we were friendly, she was all shades of lovable.

DH said if we can't find her owner (placed an ad on craigslist, called humane society and the local vet) then she can stay. He likes the name Lilly-Belle after the train at WDW.

Ain't she adorable??

This is after we gave her a bath. SHe was pretty gross initially. Ticks galore!

I WAS going to say she looked pretty good for being lost, but I see you gave her a bath. :goodvibes

Is she thin? Trying to figure out if she's truely homeless or just lonely & wandering for company.

I love her colors. :)

she is very lucky to have found you guys...

I love her name! She looks like she has some Pointer in her, she is so cute! :goodvibes Bless you for showing her kindness and being willing to give her a loving home if need be. :)

Sounds pretty smart too. She knew she wasn't being taken care of and found someone who would love her like she needed.

I love her name.

Looks like a pure coon hound to me. I have a friend in SC who had a young CH adopt him, named Peggy Sue (yes, it was playing on the radio when she arrived).

What a pretty dog! Thanks for taking her in!!

If she was covered in ticks and cowered when you went towards her, i'd be likely to not try too hard to find her owners. Sounds like they don't deserve such a pretty girl.

Glad she found you!!

I totally agree!!! Poor thing, glad she found you.

I hope you never, ever find her owners! Thanks for taking one in and helping one out!!

She's very pretty. I think I would take the ad off Craigslist. She doesn't need to be with her previous owner if they hit her. I would not want to reunite her with them.

I wouldn't be too anxious to send her back to people who hit her and allowed her to become covered with ticks.

She is a beautiful girl!

Be glad you live in NC, or I would drive there and steal her! I love hounds, and have 3 hound-mixes. All girls. The sweetest babies in the world... they love children, and just "hangin'"
She's lovely... you must keep her (or call me!)
