We've Bounced Back like Tigger SB09 TR NEW 9/11 CLOSING TIME....

So PLEASE!!!!! give me YHO's on what should I do?

this is where I'm swaying...try and get a few dried goods in the suitcases the best I can and then order the soy milk and other fresh stuff.

I'll check back in later tonight as I feel if I'm gonna do it it needs to be NOW!!!!

J-

I usually send a box down ahead of time (UPS) with dry foods and even the heavier toiletry items (like shampoo). My goal is only one checked bag per person! Just mail the box to the resort and pick it up at check in.

We've used Garden Grocer twice; the price of milk and fruit is less than picking it up on property. Plus, it saves us a side trip to the grocery store on the way in from the airport when everyone is chomping at the bit to get to WDW!

I try to think about convenience as well as cost. I think you made a good call!

MRYPPNS, Amy, nu2wdisneyw, & missy

Thanks for the comments on my spending budget...

after I logged off I figured out how much cash stash I had already and what I needed to withdraw next week (to give my Mom and the stuff for down there) I am so OCD that I figure out for the most part how many kinds of bills I nedd and the amounts. Plus I paper clip w/ post-it;'s the seperate tip $ and stuff so it's handy

Amy I genreally try to figure tip in the 18% and then can give more if the service was :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I use the menu's as a guide to guestimate what I think people would order and then just calculate it up.

Heidi is does add up quick...I hope we can stay in that $275 range for souvenirs...we'll see:rolleyes1

Glad I could help spure some ideas and glad you guys think it's in the reasonable range! My non-Dis friends would be like :scared1:

You think you're OCD???? Check me out.....I ration cash out by day in envelopes based on the budget and our plans for that day. I give DH $100 the first day for his wallet, then each night I bring his "bank" up to $100. I carry whatever is left over for that day and the rest stays in the safe. This way there is no way we can run out of cash. And every day's envelope has a mix of bills so we always have change for tips.

As for shopping.....I'm hearing everything is on sale.....you might end up with more because of the deals.

I did the seperate enveloped for each day last yr too...but didn't have a "bank" of money very smart....

I havn't decided yet how or what amount of $ we'll cary in the parks. I may just keep it in the room and charge back and then pay up each night...I've done that on previous trips. I don't anticipate needing much cash on hand this trip.

SALES!!!! ooh that sound fun! and dangerous:rolleyes1

OK dinner time then while the boys are at cubs tonight us girls are going to play Disney Princesses on the Wii almost ready to ulock Belle's kingdom:wizard:

“Heigh Ho, Heigh Ho it’s off to DHS we GO!”

My DHS Touring Plan

So as nu2wdisneyw said planning your day(s) at the Studios can be tricky and I agree. Last June we had a planned 1 ½ days…but it became busted between SWW, heat, crowds and weather. Figuring two of those four will not be an issue this trip, we should have better luck.

Our game plan is basically an all-day tour w/ break in the park or possible rest back at CSR. And then KIM our last day is “park tbd” and the Studios is one of 2 choices.

Here’s the Plan to Conquer and Enjoy DHS:

1) arrive hopefully before park opening and based on that possibly grab some grub for breakfast at SRC and use snack credits from the DDP

2) Obtain a FP for Toy Story Mania if necessary

3) Ride the Great Movie Ride

4) Obtain FP for RnRC for my Dad & I

5) Ride TSM

6) Go the Narnia Prince Caspian Exhibit if open

7) SPLIT ride RNRC and non-riders can look for characters or go in shops

8) See PHDL times: show times as of 3-8
22-minute shows
9:40, 10:30 & 11:20am, 12:10, 1:30, 2:20, 3:20, 4:10, 5:00 & 5:50pm

9) Dine at Sci-Fi Diner and 11:15 am (be there 11 am) **Obviously adjust above as needed AND look for Carisanboys and family.

10) Obtain FP for Star Tours for who wants to ride (not me)

11) SPILT Star Tours and non-rider look around SW area/shop maybe Jedi Training 20-minute shows
9:55, 10:50 & 11:45am, 12:40, 1:30, 2:20, 4:00 & 4:45pm

12) See MV3D possible SPLIT here as Michael is not fond of 3D movies

13) Explore HISTK play set and take an extended break, rest time

14) See LMASS times: show times as of 3-8
33-minute shows 1:20 & 4:30pm

15) Ride TSM again

16) Maybe DH take Mae and Aldine to VotLM (FP?)

17) Like to squeeze in HSM pep rally if we can for Aldine. Show times as of 3-8 are: 20-minute shows at Sorcerer Hat
10:00 & 11:00am, 12:00, 1:00, 4:30 & 5:30pm

18) Dinner time possible QS choices: Studios Catering C or Rosie’s All American Café

19) Maybe take a drop on ToT if time

20) Time to find spots for F! my waiting plan is to grab treats/snacks or leftover desserts from dinner and bring in w/ us. Have a game, books, etc to amuse the group Plan to sit near the back due to reported noise, fire, etc. We also will examine the possibility of some staying some going. The show is at 8:30 pm, figure hoping to get in theatre around 7:30/45 pm Seating begins 120 minutes prior to showtime This is what it says on Steve Soares site so is 1 hour in advance no good even if intend to sit in the back?:confused3

21) If we stay (all some) for F! after show we hope to hang back or exit w/ crowds but find a place to sit and wait for most of the crowd to exit before heading to buses.

****PLUS Make time to see the Characters we saw NONE in 08 except for FroZone and Mickey

I realize this is a pretty big list and most likely things will have to be adjusted and or cut when we are there…this really is a guide of what we’d like to see.

If we come back on the last day some possible things to do would be:

1) TSM

2) PHDL

3) B&B show show times as of 3-8: 30-minute shows
10:45am, 12:15, 1:45, 3:45 & 5:45pm

4) TGMR

5) HISTK

6) See One Man’s Dream

7) Dine for lunch ABC Commissary

Thanks for reading as always!:goodvibes

Sorry Ladies I missed your pots when I did my replies yesterday....

Thanks for posting your budget. It helps me to plan mine:) Happy packing!

Your welcome...the big packing is done for the most part...still need to figure out that bag 5 yet.

I usually send a box down ahead of time (UPS) with dry foods and even the heavier toiletry items (like shampoo). My goal is only one checked bag per person! Just mail the box to the resort and pick it up at check in.

DH and Amy mentioned the box thing too...

J- :shamrock: only 3 days till St. Pat's!

Hey there ~
I think you quoted the wrong DISer...I've never been so I have no idea what it is like to plan. I am LEARNING lots for you all!!! :confused3

Oh my goodness! I should have found your PTR sooner. Since I'll be staying the same week at CSR, and now several of our park days are going to be the same, I could have learned a lot from you.

My idea of planning is no where near yours (and I'm slightly jealous:rolleyes1 ). After reading through your thread, I have created a list of things I hadn't even thought about yet. I have a lot of admiration for "born organized" people, and you fit in that category:) .

I have had company all week, and Disney hasn't been on my radar at all. Now that it is 13 days away, I'm slightly freaking out:scared1: .

Since I work weekends, I won't be able to start anything until Monday. Maybe that is a good thing, and I'll be able to gather my thoughts.

I've really enjoyed reading about your family thus far, and am looking forward to more!

Julie, I think that as long as you are planning to sit in the back/upper seats, you will be just fine getting there 45-60 minutes before the show. If you're getting there early, you may want to pack a couple of beach towels to sit on; those metal benches can be hard and uncomfy! :rolleyes1

Remember, a lot of guests automatically try to get seats as close to the "stage" (water) as possible. The seats in back tend to fill up more slowly.

I think I knew you were planning your 1st trip...I thought I remeber reading a post of yours about waiting to see my plans to help figure out yours...glad I helped anyways

I'm so glad you came by after we found each other on that March 09 thread....did you get my PM about dismeeting?

I'm slightly freaked too that's OK! it's a good freak right now

That's what I was hoping...there would be no way Michael or Margaret could handle waiting any longer than that. and thanks for the tip about towels. I'm actually basing most of this plan on what I've read from you so :thumbsup2

Wow! I can't get over your planning skills!! :worship:

ID TAGS!! I have to add that to my list of things to do. I think I've said this before, but my list is getting longer, not shorter! :scared1:

Your DHS plans look optimistic! I'm doing the same thing though - it's more of a wish list and I'm expecting to miss some of the things on my list.

As far as Fantasmic - I'd shoot for closer to an hour than 45 minutes. I've read that it is pretty much full 45 minutes before the show. Can you send a few people ahead to hold the seats and then the rest of you can join them at around the 45 minute mark??

Hey everyone I have been hinting for some time now that I'd post my 2008 WDW trip scrapbook when it was done and...

:yay: :yay: :yay: I just finished preparing it for sharing it to all of you so please take a look!

The link to the scrapbooking thread is below in my siggie!

Thanks,

SCRAPPIE (J-)

Don't you know it....

If you want to see what DH created last year or for this year just let me know I'll pm .

I'd get FP for TSMM as soon as possible....they are still "selling out" by mid morning so you don't what a ride time that is too late in the day if you have to leave before F!.

I agree with the hour ahead of time but I wouldn't split up and then try to get together. It's hard to to find people in that theater.

answer being pm'd

I'd be afraid of that too...

I wanted to comment on your DHS plans before I go look at your scrapbook! I find DHS to be the hardest park to navigate..I just can't seem to get my bearings there! :sad2:

The plans look good. The shows are tough to work around so the day is a hard one to schedule. It looks like you've done a good job getting in the Must-Dos and you can work from there! Nice! :thumbsup2

Ok..off to look at the scrapbook! :surfweb:

your PTR keeps amazing me.

thanks so much for sharing your budget! I need to sit down and allocate WHERE our spending money needs to be spent!!

Thanks for sharing your plan for DHS! This is a great plan to use as a model for my own... DHS is the hardest park to plan for, IMO.
Wow getting close to your trip!!! How exciting for you! Great details on your PTR!
