We've been bitten... Again!

It's been ten months since our last trip to the world and we've been bitten again! Yes, there is a big, red, itchy bite... That is telling us to get back to WDW ASAP!

The Who: A (me) 25 year old RN by day, Disney enthusiast and obsessive planner by evening/night/weekend!

J (DH) 26 year old scientist by day and night (he works really hard so he is looking fwd to this trip and relaxing... Mwuahaha little does he know!)


The Where: Animal Kingdom Lodge (stay tuned for the reason why soon!)


The When: TBD but most likely 9/13/-916

The Why: why not?! If we stick with rte dates above, we'll be celebrating DH's 28th birthday! And mostly because DH said we could

The How (this trip came about):

DH promised me at the end of our last trip (May 2012) we'd be back in 2013. However, after looking at our budget early 2013 and putting our goal of becoming homeowners in 2014 first, we didn't think a trip in 2013 would be possible.

Fast fwd to end of February, DH got a promotion (a big one with a fancier salary), as well as a good chunk of income tax returned we were able to pay off student loan #3, leaving with just one more!!

Then, something magical happened, last Saturday DH exclaimed he needs a vacation and stated "lets go to Disney, I need to get away!"

No followers yet but I'm sure it's because you are all in such awe from our incredible plans and can't think of the words to say

so... ON WITH THE SHOW!

A little background on how this trip came about. Last Saturday (4 days ago) I was quietly sulking over every Disney commercial that came on TV until finally DH sad, and I quote,

"I need a vacation, let's go somewhere"​

That is all I needed to hear and I hopped on the 'net and immediately began looking at the current special offers, sent out DVC request forms, and began looking at airfare. We are limited to only being able to go Friday-Monday due to having an adorable but high maintenance doggie that MIL is only willing to watch for four nights.


Initially we were going to in the fall, because I already have a girls trip planned to NYC for four nights in May. Then I convinced DH since we went on a disneymoon June 2011 and visited last year for our one year anniv June 2012, it only makes sense to go for our 2nd anniv in June 2013. I came up with a great price for AKL, tickets, great flights, things were falling into place!

Then... DH mentioned" wait, why are we going in June?! You are already going away in May, we should go in the fall". I let it go and stopped mentioning Disney for 16 hours

Fast fwd to Monday night and I was showing DH prices and dates on the WDW website when he declared we are not allowed to stay anywhere other than AKL from now on. It's a rough life we live Later that night I acted like he never mentioned wanting to change back to the fall and kept going on with June until he caught on- and we were back to the fall before you can say "120min wait for Soarin'"

I finally had him cornered and said FINE we will go in the fall, for your 28th birthday and we will try to get reservations for Be Our Guest for dinner. He agreed and that's how we came up with Sept 13-Sept 16, DH's bday is Sept 14th.


Don't worry all the planning won't be this tedious, so stick around, grab a turkey leg and get comfy...

next up: 180 day mark is coming up and I need to make those ADR's! That is, if I come away from my upcoming ski weekend without any broken bones!
