... And I'm still so horrifically depressed.

Disneyblues have been so bad, this is the first time I've popped onto the boards since we got back in the middle of September.

And, I'm not exactly helping myself! We decided we'd go back for our honeymoon in around 2017 (no dates set yet), but that seems so far away. I had a cheeky look at prices tonight, thinking it'd cheer me up... oh what a stupid idea!

£3800 for two weeks on site, with dining plan, park tickets and indirect flights for the end of next year. Or, just over £2300 for villa, park tickets and indirect flights.

It being so affordable (but not justifiable what with buying a house, planning life) just makes want to cry

Someone tell me this gets better?

Sorry. It doesn't get better! Planning a super splurge honeymoon trip will help though :) start planning that and think how wonderful it will be to go super posh if you wait a couple of years.

If you want to go back really badly, and it's just the two of you, you can do it on the cheap. You should be able to get indirect flights and a cheap hotel for around £600-700 each. Universal Sea World etc. are cheaper than Disney, too, and your could always do a character meal at the hotels if you needed your Disney fix!

That said - the house, the wedding will bring you much, much more joy than any holiday could, believe me.

It's hard isn't it, grown up life sucks lol...
I couldn't go to the US and not do disney,it's just not the same,I could do cheap hotel or villa etc but could not justify the flights price and only go to universal,
Have you thought about doing 7 days? I'm not sure I could, however I know some who have.

It's does get easier but never goes away :goodvibes

We went in 98 & 99 then had a 6 year break as we got married and bought our first house and then moved to our second house. When we went back in 2006 we could only do 9 nights but we have been every year since and have slowly increased the frequency of our visits :rolleyes1

I would get the house and pay for your wedding - Disney will still be there :thumbsup2

We went back in 2012 and had been dreaming of going back ever since...and we have now booked our honeymoon here for next year! You should totally do it! ::yes::

It does get better ... as soon as you click the "book now" button for your next trip :)

Couldn't agree more!

I am only doing 7 nights this year {I go in 7 days!} after our first visit last year, I was hooked.

I've managed to do this year's 7 nights for under £1000,

£440 direct virgin flight MAN-MCO in the sale.
$1650 Disney booking, staying at All stars Music Preferred Room with Quick Service Dining plan and Base Tickets (no hoppers). My friend booked this from NYC (Im meeting her there!) which we split between us at $825 I got 1.68 rate on my CC when I paid my half = £491
MVMCP tickets = $70 or £45

Total = £973!

I get a week on site (Ok its a value resort but who cares, its Disney!), I have a dining plan which will cover more then enough food, we are doing 3 sit down meals (Crystal Palace, Akerhuas & Afternoon Team @ GF) & I get direct flights! O

So it is doable! :)

I should have noted. I had an 8 year gap between our first and second trips and have then been about every year, or more, since. Houses have to be bought. Child care paid for. Your turn will come around again. Fact. You can't live in Disney. Buying a home is important!

It is always there - a true but nice addiction

I'd plan for 2017. Come on here and get lots of ideas plus you will be a big help to others having just come back.

Another option whilst you are young and not tied to school hols is to look for late deals.

April/early May and September are good times for these.

If you follow ukhotdeals/holiday pirates they sometimes have great deals.

We first went in 97 then 2000 and have been every year since. Next year we cannot go because of daughter getting married 'exciting'. But we are planning 2016. Unless you get the bug you cannot explain it.

Thanks guys!

I'm just being mopey :(

I've sort of half come to terms with it being a couple of years until we can go again. We're hoping to do 4 weeks for our honeymoon so there is that to look forward to!

Still... At the risk of sounding about 5... I wanna go back nooooow

I don't think it gets better. For us it comes and goes on waves. This week has been good as we decided to do the "Big One" next, as you can see from my Ticker at the bottom. My suggestion is make a ticker, you know roughly when your going back so set it up and you can see the day's going down. It's a psychological thing. It makes me feel better anyway!!

helping other people plan is very helpful to me.

i haven't a clue when i'll next be going back...

the family want us all to go back in 2017, but i don't know if we'll be able to afford it then...

so i help with other people's plans...it helps a bit!! :)

I find doing a trip report that lasts for months after the trip helps with the Disney blues :goodvibes

Ben wants to do California for a few days when we go back too... Sort of do a maaaassive big Disney holiday for 4-5 weeks, with some traveling up to NYC. Basically, a coast to coast Disney trip.

Super jealous though!

we did that about 10 years ago.

a 6 week trip.

- We started at WDW for 3 days (this was just so we'd be in florida in time for the cruise).
- Then a disney cruise
- Then another 3 weeks at WDW (yeah, 3 weeks, not nearly enough)
- Then on to california for 4 days at disneyland/california adventure
- Then to las vegas for 3 days (we hated las vegas - i know people love it, but we couldnt' stand it)
- Then to detroit for power shopping (where i'm originally from)
- Then to New York for 3 days (and 3 broadway musicals)..

and then home... a great trip...a wonderful time was had by all 4 of us!!
an epic trip!!
