If you have some time before your cruise, check out Cocoa Beach Surf Shop (next to Ron Jon's in Port Canaveral). I picked up a shorty wetsuit for $40 last Feb.
Given the temperate waters (high 70s degrees plus at depth) of all the diving spots on the DCL itineraries, what on earth do you even need a wetsuit for?
This is coming from a diver who was certified 16 years ago who has done diving all over the Caribbean in both Winter, Summer and Fall. A wetsuit is huge overkill in any of those.
danthesand: when i posted about a week ago asking about how comfortable the water temps were in january at CC most people responded that it was chilly, and some people even said passengers were getting their $$ back for water excursions because it was too cold. on the disney cruise site the average temperature listed for nassau and CC for january is 73*F. i would've assumed the water would be colder than the air- but i guess i could be wrong- i've never been there... it really made me nervous- because i knew i couldn't reschedule for a warmer month, and i really want this to be the trip of a lifetime!!
but really-more than anything- the wetsuit is a precaution. i'd much rather spend $30 and get the wetsuit and not use it than not spend it and discover the water is too cold for my comfort!! i love dancing bananas....
