Wet-n-Wild Waterpark Questions

We are planning an April trip staying at Westgate Palace (which I hear is within walking distance to WnW - can anyone confirm this?) The plan is to visit Universal Studios/IOA in the mornings (we bought the 7-day 2/park pass) and spend the afternoons when the weather is hot (hopefully!) at the pool or a waterpark. I'm thinking the unlimited 7 day deal for $40 at WnW might be perfect. I'm not much of a waterpark person though but may be required to go to supervise the kids (taking turns with my husband). Does anyone know if they use fingerprinting for the 7-day tickets? Would we be able to buy one ticket for me and my husband and take turns on who goes to chaperone? I hate to buy a ticket just to sit there and watch. I could be enjoying some peace and quiet (maybe a nap!) back at the hotel.

Also does anyone know if the 7-day deal can be purchased at the gate? Or is it a pre-purchase only price?
