I have two Mastiff's. They were both rescued. While watching Westminster tonight the commercial from Pedigree keeps playing. Of course I went to the website - typed in my zip code and found a Tosa Inu (Japanese Mastiff) for adoption less than a mile away.

BTW, do you live in Nassau County? There's someone in my neighborhood with two Mastiffs. They are gorgeous!

I'm in Suffolk. I always stop when I see big dogs, its a weakness. These are my babies. Maggie and Brutus.

How did I miss the Whippet? My neighbor has two miniture Italian greyhounds. Those dogs are so athletic. My dogs just look at them and need a nap.

My daughter and I were at Westminster all day yesterday (left around 6pm to come home and watch it on TV) the woman in black was walking around all day and we had no idea who/what she was doing there. She was way to dressed up to be a handler/owner or spectator. When we saw her on TV we were like.... OH...NOW we know why she was so dressed up!!

it is an experience!! This is the 3rd year we have gone. It is very crowded which makes it impossible to go into the benching area to really see the dogs up close.
I just enjoy sitting in the seats and watching all the shows going on.
Because my daughter shows dogs we know many people there showing, including the 13 year old who was showing the Ibizan hound in the group last night!!

I always wanted to go too. The crowds are what keeps my husband from wanting to go. So, this morning I was watching News 12 and they said the dogs are on display all day for people to come by, pet them and ask questions about the breed. Is this what you called the benching area?

Yes that is the benching area. I could not even get through to visit with our friends it is so crowed back there!! By 5:30 the crowd had thinned out alot, but we were ready to go home!!
If you want to go, just sit up in the seats, you will still see plenty!!
