You can still enter the info ahead of time when you do a web or mobile checkin up to 24 hours before the flight departure time thus avoiding having to go ip to the counter at all at the airport.

You could always enter it at anytime on their old system as well. I will do it then.

Earlier in this thread it was mentioned that old confirmations numbers would not even work for the web check-in, so they would need to call for a new confirmation to still do that online.
 
I called yesterday to get a new confirmation number thinking the worst has probably blown over by now and it was over an hour wait so I gave up
 

Just logged in with my new confirmation code only to see that my reservations are screwed up. My flights are all there, but they've somehow added some extra flights to my reservation that I didn't book. And the wait on the phone is more than 60 minutes.

Sigh.

It's a big mess over there. Funny, in their apology letter they tried to blame flight delays.

On the plus side after waiting well over an hour the other night trying to change my flight the agent on the phone told me to re-book it myself online because she was having so many problems trying to to it herself (the system's fault). She refunded back to my credit card my original ticket fees and said I wouldn't be charged the $200 fee for changes ($50 x 4 people). That was a real bonus.
 
Just got off the phone with WestJet. Someone my flights have gotten all screwed up and in order to put them back in order, they have to change one of my flights which leaves me with a 5 1/2 hour lay-over in Toronto. This is my first time flying WestJet - I'm a long-time Air Canada customer - and it's leaving a really bad taste in my mouth. I'm going to seriously reconsider using them in future. If I want to talk to a supervisor I'm going to have to call back in, wait another hour to talk to a front-line agent, and then wait another hour to talk to a supervisor. I think I'll set my alarm clock for 2am and get up and try calling then to see if it's any faster.
 
Westjet is my preferred airline and I'm kinda getting fed up with all the hassles lately but I hope it won't last forever. Guess I got spoiled in the past with how easy it was to get thru to them, lol. I'm hoping that on our next flight in february (after our november flights) things will be back to normal with them :goodvibes
 
I was just thinking why couldn't WestJet e-mail us new confirmation numbers and carry over our old profile, because it would be a lot easier on their call centres.
 
So I tried at 3am and it still said there was a wait of over an hour so I went back to bed. Tried again at 7:30am and after almost 90 minutes on the phone got things straightened out. Turns out that they changed the departure time of the flight from Orlando by 15 minutes, which left me 4 minutes over their minimum allowable time for a connection in Toronto, so they figured they should bump me back to a flight almost 6 hours later. In the end they got an exception approved and put me back on all of my original flights. Phew...
 
I just looked up our flight from Toronto - Orlando as a new reservation because I still have not got through because of the wait times and noticed it got changed back to 10:30 AM.
 
I have been following this thread since it was 1st started and gotta let you know what just happened: I bit the bullet and dialed the toll-free number pulled up some games and waited out thru the stupid on hold music. After maybe 40 minutes someone (very chipper i might add) answered and gave me my new number --- then i had her check my flight times to be sure and as you mentioned it has gone back to the original 10:30 departure time from TO . HEADS up even though there is a long wait time you might want to check on your flights!!!
 
One of my flights are changed as well. And it seems to be the same flight everyone else is talking about. Seems like that flight changed.

Its better for me because I am flying

St. John's - Toronto - Orlando.

And originally we didn't have much time to connect in Toronto, but now we have an extra 45 minutes because of the flight now leaving at 1030.
 
Wow, good thing I read this thread. I must have been clued out...I am on hold now for 60 minutes....:scared1:

I called and waited 45 minutes to get through. I got my new confirmation number and my flight back has been delayed by half an hour.. so I get an extra 30 min in Disney!!!!
The person that took my call was very nice and verified everything as well as emailed me the info... she kept thanking me for being so nice to her
I hope everyone that calls remembers that the person that answers the phone didn't do this but they are the ones getting yelled at everyday so please try to have some compassion for people trying to do their jobs
 
I hadn't been following this thread. I just got an email from West Jet saying my flight down had changed times. We're leaving at 10:30 am now instead of 9:45 am. When I go to the site it has 2 flights for me...one at 10 and one at 10:30 (actually...same flight number) but only the 10:30 one is confirmed. Strange.

A little miffed at the delay but we weren't planning much on the day we arrived anyway.
 
Well after being on hold for an hour & five minutes I finally spoke to someone at got our brand new confirmation without any problems. The only weird thing is the agent said our flight to Orlando still left Toronto at 9:45 AM, even though I knew it was changed back to 10:30 AM and that's what our new print out says. Anyway I am just happy that it's done and now we will be able to check-in online.
 
Just want to say to everyone, even if you've called and are comfortable everything is all settled, please keep an eye on things, and check on it periodically until you leave. Any time you speak to someone and they give you info on your reservation, get their name, and note the date and time you spoke to them in case you need to refer to it later if there is an issue.

Westjet's system is in quite a mess right now, and it'd be awful for someone to have their trip messed up because they were given wrong flight info.

Well for those that were able to get new confirmations do you think if there were any more changes to the flight schedules WestJet would automatically e-mails us? Before these changes ever happened to their reservation systems whenever our flight times with them would change we would always get an e-mail from them and when the agent asked if I wanted our info e-mailed to us I said yes and got it right away.

Of course we can always do a search for our flights by entering a new reservation and making sure the times are still correct, because I guess that's the only option.
