Some seat sale. Look at those black out dates. Dec 13th to January 8th. Sheesh.

Some seat sale $109 one way mid week or $345 rt with taxes from YYZ-MCO. You can easily get $200 rt with taxes in Jan with Southwest or $100 rt with Allegiant from Niagara Falls. Add a checked bag $25 each way total $150rt. Get seats at the airport for free. Flying from Pearson is a joke.

Wow, I'm sorry I posted. We always travel in January, so the dates are perfect for us. This is our third trip down and I think $1400 for direct flights from Ottawa for a family of 4 is pretty good (we've paid as low as $1200 but that was 2 years ago). I personally have no interest in flying with an American carrier, or driving to Niagara Falls.

Sheesh indeed.

The connecting flights from our home town (Moncton) are brutal.....some have us waiting 8-10 hours for a connecting flight!! The prices are OK, but no way I wait that long in the airport.

Air Canada - for the same dates - have a much better connecting flight - total lost was about $430...so not too bad

I understand your reluctance to drive all the way to Niagara Falls (or Buffalo) to catch a flight. We're in Brighton, and have been looking long and hard at some of the flights out of Syracuse. Our elder DD and her DH live in Ottawa and have made the drive to Syracuse several times in order to save $$$ on flights. They've found several inexpensive hotels nearby that offer free parking while you're away and shuttle service to the airport.(most of their flights have been early morning).
