So my husband just got approval for the time off so that we can take a 7 day western caribbean cruise April 23, 2005.

BUT - is this the trip for us? We will have been married for 2.5 years and we will be 26 years old... no kids.

Honest opinion folks.

DH and I have only been on one cruise so far... But we loved it!!! We are going again in November!!!
Not having kids, we would not want to bring them if we did!! They would get in the way of all the fun!!! (ok, well I guess actuall parenthood would change our minds!;) )
Seriously though, If you love Disney.... GO!)

Not really knowing you or your husband, I can only offer my expierences on DCL. My DH and I have been married almost 5 years. We have no children and I am also 26. We took our first land/sea vacation for our first anniversary and absolutly loved it. I was worried about the cruise portion (being trapped on a ship with a bunch of kids) but those fears were put to rest the moment we boarded. We choose the late seating on the recommendation of our TA and there were fewer children there. We were able to have quiet dinners. We were in the dance and comedy clubs at night. We stayed at the forward portion of the ship in the Quiet Cove area and were never bothered by kids. When we got to CC we went directly to Serenity bay and had a blast.

Our second cruise was the 7 day eastern and it was very enjoyable!!! No kid problems at all.

I say as long as you are into everything Disney you will have a blast!!! Disney has done an awesome job seperating the areas so Adult only cruisers can have just as much fun as children.

Don't worry....just have a MAGICal time ::yes::

Question: Do you like Disney Stuff? Yes, then you'll love any DCL cruise. You very well may like a DCL cruise even if you don't particularly care for Disney. On the ship there are Disney touches everywhere - but very classy, not gaudy.

The western cruise gennerally speaking is more active (grand cayman, cozumel) and more partying (key west, cozumel (carlos and charlies) than the eastern cruise.

Even if we didn't have kids we would still do disney cruises (but then again we love disney and are at either disneyland or WDW every year).

DCL has a very class operation. The ships are beautiful, the service spectacular and the food and activities are very good.

We're a little older than you, but would do DCL alone if our kids wouldn't kill us. We're thinking of a 15th anniversary cruise in two years, and we'd love to take it on DCL, but it would mean too much heartbreak for the kiddies. We'll probably go with Celebrity or RCCL, but would prefer DCL.

We're Disney geeks-- there's no denying it.

Maybe useful...

We're a younger couple than you two, and of course without kids and we loved it once. And loved it enough to make another booking.

The key thing isn't so much your age, but whether you like Disney. You could be 15 or 50 and like it, but if you don't like Disney, then this cruise isn't for you.

6 cruises No KIds i swear u dont even know they are there if u want to.... we have 7 & 8 planned...

Go have a great cruise........

We have 3 kids and have taken them on the cruise, but our first cruise we left them home. DH and I are in our early 30's and we had an awesome time. Do late seating to have fewer kids around. You will be seated with other couples at dinner and you can make friends that way. We made some great friends on that first cruise and we still keep in touch with them. You don't have to be around kids if you don't want to. On Castaway Cay go to Serenity Bay, and in the evenings there are lots of adults only activities. Go, you'll have a great time.

Like another poster said...you gotta love Disney. Well, at least like it! We (DH, 36 me, 30 and no kids) did the land/sea for our Honeymoon in 2002, and from the second we got on the ship, we were annoyed we were doing a 4 night instead of a 7 night. We couldn't even keep up with all the things for just adults to do, but we did Palo, the spa, wine tasting, saw the shows, hung out at Quiet Cove, got cabana massages on Serenity Bay, had a ball watching kids (and adults) get so excited seeing the characters, danced at the sail away party.....and never, ever thought, "we feel out of place without kids" or "is there anything for adults to do?" We, in fact, booked back to backs for this fall, and I cannot wait!

So, if you like Disney, you will have a ball. The service is amazing, the food is good, and the times are great::yes:: !
