Western Caribbean vs Eastern?

Eastern you have more sea days.

That's a tough question for anyone to answer without knowing what you like.

Look at the ports and activities at each port and decide which you would like better.

Eastern: St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Castaway Cay
Western: Key West, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Castaway Cay

The Western does have one additional port but some people would prefer the extra day at sea at they tend to be more relaxing and laid back.

Go to the DCL website, http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/disneycruiseline/funonshore/funonshoreindex?id=FunOnshoreRoot and click on the various ports and then you can click on shore excursions to see a list of DCL sponsored excursions for each port.

The food and shows are the same either way.
The weather is pretty much the same either way.
The onboard activities are the same.

It really comes down to which ports you would like to visit.

We plan to book the cruise in Nov.

Which direction is more prone for bad weather?

In November the weather should be fine for either trip.

Think about this,

The Western is more Spanish
and the Eastern is more French/Dutch and Mediterrainian.

The Western has Aztec/Mayan ruins
The Eastern has Blackbeard's Castle.

ok - I give - where is Blackbeard's Castle? I obviously have lots more reading to do.

WOW - Thanks... :earboy2: Guess I have been so focused on the National Park, I forgot the other island....Must read more.... :wave2:

DW & I will be on our 4th Dis cuise in Nov. We have taken the 3 day, Eastern & Western. I know we much prefer the western. Kew West is the highlight for the trip for us. I only wish we could spend 2 days there. Cozumel we enjoyed as well. The islands on the eastern trip we just did'nt enjoy as much

We like Caribbean ports, and sea days so took the Eastern.

I can see Key West or Mexico for a whole lot less money that what a cruise costs, so the Western doesn;t excit me, other than I'd be on the Magic.
