Which would you prefer on the Western Caribbean cruise, Port or starboard side of the ship?

Don't know that it matters, really. Port likely gives you a view of Cozumel, but it's not what I call "spectacular." You have to tender at Grand Cayman, again, doesn't matter. I used to abide by the age old, "center ship, starboard side," but for that cruise, I find it irrelevant.

I booked starboard for our first cruise, a 7-night Western Caribbean, because I understand the Fantasy normally backs into Castaway Cay and you get a view of the island from the starboard staterooms.

I'll find out in 37 days if I made a good choice.

Starboard, but then again we always book starboard. Well at least 11 out of 12 have been starboard. Itinerary doesn't matter:)

We have a starboard room booked for our western next May but it wasn't a conscious decision. We knew the room category we wanted and it had to be aft, but port or starboard really doesn't make a difference with us. We had a port side room on our last cruise and it was fine too. :)

We were in 7602 in March which I think starboard. We saw CC when we docked there which is the big deal for me. We had decent views in all other ports but again, it's all about CC.

In June, we were starboard in the deluxe family ocean view stateroom. We loved it cuz at castaway cay you can see the island. At the other ports, we had ocean view rooms. My husband and I loved it cuz you can keep the curtains open & not care about people at port seeing you change clothes!

I like port - but because it's in the shade during the muster drill. To me, the Castaway Cay view isn't as important - most of the time, I'm looking at the ship, rather than looking at the island! :goodvibes I also prefer to watch the port activity at Castaway Cay before the guests are allowed off and after we're all back on. It's amazing watching those guys work - and I love the special send-off they give as we're pulling out!

We were starboard on the Eastern Caribbean. Had a great view of Castaway Cay, but had a view of another cruise ship in St. Thomas and Puerto Rico. We are trying port side this trip.
