Western Caribbean April 30, 2011?

Hi every one we forgot that there is deck party and since this is our first cruise we defenitly cant miss that so we probbly wont be able to make the meet maybe we can meet later that night

What dining seating does every1 have? We're the second seating. Which has always worked out for us... this way we don't have to rush our day activities!

If it works for every1 lets do a intro meet the first day after the mandatory lifeboat drill. If any1 has another time please do tell! We can meet in the promenade lounge at lets say 5?

We have 1st seating - this is our first cruise, and this was the one were reccommended to get.. so we'll see how we like it :thumbsup2 my only concern is the rushing.. but my mom said we should be ok - she doesn't want to be eating dinner late at night :) haha

That sounds good for the meet - let's see what everybody else says :thumbsup2

Rachel

Yea, as rachel said we have first seating:)

Also i don't think we will be able to attend the meet because its our first cruise and we were planning on going to the deck party;) (i think, ill have to check with the rest of my family) So it is possible we may be able to meet, but we may want to get to the party early...im not sure if its the same as how you want to arrive at parades and shows in disney early...

Hey everyone i see that alot of you guys are staying at coco beach the night before the curise is anyone staying at the hyatt at the orlando airport the night before were flying in on the friday and staying there the night before

Thats cool! Are u guys driving down? We're going to take the auto train down from DC. Planning on spending a few days after with family. The kids love the train!

Lets do the meet! and whoever can come comes? cuz Im sure with all different ages we have we are never really going to find a time or day that EVERY1 can get together. So I say lets all try to meet after the lifeboat drill in the Promenade lounge.

Hope we can get this thread a little more active!!

Sorry, I forgot to answer your first question.. no, we're not driving down, we'll be flying down from Philly in the afternoon on Friday, and then spending Friday night in Cocoa Beach at the Country Inn & Suites. The train does sound like a fun way to get down there, though! :)

Anyone staying at the Radisson the night before at Port Canaveral? We are planning to get there in time to throw the kids in the pool so they can swim until they beg to sleep. ha ha.

I came up with a good idea and wanted to share - for anyone that has a Kroger or one of the Kroger families of stores in their area like Ralphs, you can buy gift cards and get double fuel points and they sell Disney gift cards. I took the money we were going to put on our shipboard account and bought a Disney gift card and then called and had it put on our onboard account and I got double fuel points to use when I fill up my car this week so it will save me a dollar a gallon which is a lot these days!!

Just thought I would pass along the suggestion for those that can earn fuel points at their grocery stores and the stores sell Disney gift cards.

Hey guys,
I totally forgot about the sail away party! oops. so then any suggestions when to meet? Im going to be getting to the port around 12:30-1ish. We could even meet up before the muster drill around 2-3 if that works for any1?

Or how about this... lets all wear a lime green ribbon( the color of the DIS) on our sleeves of our shirts or pinned to the hem of our shirts so if we see each other we can get some introductions going! and then do a meet later on...

mono2080, I would love to meet with our girls - it does look like they are close in age. We are also traveling with my parents and it is their first cruise, our second. I know we probably won't be able to meet right after the safety drill (must go to deck party), but maybe before dinner in play area??? We are also on the second dining (worked great for us on our last cruise - no rushing during the day and my girls are used to staying up late anyway - we're not big morning people so like to sleep in all we can). I don't know how many are in your party (we have 5) but it would be nice if we could sit together although I don't know if they do larger groups together or not???? We will be in stateroom #8580 and have 5 in our party, Myself and 2 girls and my mom and dad. I'll PM you sometime before the cruise and we'll try to get a better idea of a time and place to meet - I know my girls will like that!

Hi! awesome!!! There is 5 in our party as well. me hubby 2 girls and 1 son. We should meet up after the party when we go to take the kids to the clubs to meet and greet with the counselors. We r in stateroom #8008 and will be seeing u at dinner for sure! last cruise we did the dine and play where the the counselors pick the kids up at 9 (after they eat) and go the clubs... this worked really well for us as we were traveling with friends and could actually enjoy our food!

Cant wait to meet u guys! I have so much to do!! worst part of last min plan changes.

I like the ribbon idea! :) That would work well, too.. just get introductions going and maybe plan something for later that day?

Oh I LOVE the idea of the green ribbon! :cutie: Girls can even wear it tied in their hair (if they have their hair up;)) I think that would be a great way to start introductions! :thumbsup2

Hello all, just thought I'd check in with you guys as we're sailing on the Magic on the 30th also. It will be me, DW and DD31. DW and myself are both retired and DD31 teaches 6th grade Math and Social Studies. She teaches at a year round school and she is tracked out during that time. We will be driving down on the 28th from home (Cary, NC) and spending the night in Jacksonville. DW plans on getting up early on the 29th to watch the Royal Wedding before we head down to spend the night of the 29th at CI&S. Using the park and ride to get to the ship on the 30th.

BTW - did you all see where the Space Shuttle Endeavor is scheduled to liftoff on the 29th.

Anyway thought I'd drop in and introduce ouselves.

Evening everyone! I have PMed the final FE list and details to each one that is participating - if you didn't receive it, please let me know. I've never actually done a mass message before and the limit of 5 was somewhat annoying ha ha.

Anyway - got this done and hopefully our power will stay on - bad storms here tonight but not as bad as they predicted!

Will check in tomorrow to see if I need to resend the list to anyone. Getting really excited about leaving in 24 days! Still so much to do!

Alecia

Wow! Good for you!

It's pretty narrow; I think the max width is 8 or 9 inches. At least that's the width I'm making mine.......er.......that's the width I'm giving my friend who will be making mine. :rolleyes1

LOL! Lucky!

Good idea! Who do I know that owns a sewing machine???

We have first seating because the littlest one goes to sleep early.

Unfortunately we arrive Friday night pretty late so I dont think we will be able to join you all for dinner. But we can meet up with everyone at the terminal. The green ribbon idea works for us.
