Western Caribbean April 30, 2011?

Anyone doing the trolley in Key West? I found that if you book the Old Town Trolley through their site - kids under 12 are free until the end of May and it's cheaper. Same thing with a ticket to Hemingway House - it's one dollar cheaper than if you buy there. I'm trying to save any way I can and hope we don't skip Key West due to weather or any other situation. If we did, I think my husband would die b/c I won't pay the prices for beer on board so he's buying all his beer for the week in Key West and carrying it back on since Disney will allow that. That will save us a bundle.

On another note - the packing....the packing...I haven't started! I'm still getting things that we are going to need to pack. I went to Target yesterday and spent way to much!! Between essentials, getting all the kids summer clothes earlier than I normally do and in one trip (my poor checking account) and I had to have a completely new wardrobe as well since I've lost 188 pounds :cool1: since last April - I'm about broke! ha ha I was reading today that I should have gotten a new passport photo but no time now - I'm going to get a new DL picture so hopefully that will help since I really don't look like my passport photo anymore.

Hope everyone is getting ready to go! Woo Hoo - three weeks from tonight we'll be in PC getting ready to board the next day. Can't wait!!!!

We are either going on the trolley or the train in Key West, depends on which is available when we finally get off the ship.

Way to go Alecia and Debbie!!! :yay:That is fantastic. I'm dieting too and a little worried about gaining weight while on the cruise. Hopefully my life style decisions will stick!
:crazy:Any one up for taking a brisk walk in the mornings?

Hey guys!

Just wanted to say.... 20 days!!!!

E&Emom... thats awesome!!! losing weight is truly a battle!

All I know is that the days seem to be slowing down!!! but considering all the things I still have to do mb thats a good thing!

Hope all is well with every1!

Alecia, 188 pounds?! That is amazing! Congratulations.

We are planning to do the trolley in KW. I think DS would love the train, but I don't think it has as many stops, right? We are planning on stops at the aquarium and Hemingway.

We were planning on getting liquor when we get to Orlando on 4/29 but getting it in KW is a great idea!

I cannot believe how soon this cruise is!! This weekend is going to be a biggie for me in getting things together!

Florida DISers: we will have a big chunk of time (7 hours) on 5/7 between disembark and our flight home. Any ideas for what we can do in the Orlando area with DS (2 years old).

The field is wide open on this one. When my daughter was a toddler, she enjoyed Moss Park, which is about 15 minutes from the airport (playground, lake, nature trails, lots of shade and Sand Hill cranes); drive a bit farther and you can tool around Downtown Disney. If you're willing to drive a bit more, bring your inflatable tube and plastic shovel and visit Rock Springs in Kelly Park or swim and rent a canoe in Wekiva Springs; both are inexpensive and have swimming, playgrounds, etc., and are well worth the visit if you've never been. My daughter loved (and still loves!) both parks.

I can't believe my family will be in PC in TWO WEEKS!! :yay:

Ok, so I've packed, unpacked, repacked, and still can't figure out if I have too much stuff or not enough stuff.....ugh!

Still haven't finished the FE gifts or the actual FE. My friend is going to help me with the FE, but she is feeling the symptoms of being pregnant, so I hate to bother her. I REALLY can't sew! Anyone here made the no-sew FE? HELP!!!! :scared1:

I'm taking a risk and am sewing ours - so far, I've gotten some of the pockets sewn, and most of my fabric cut.. I just need to combine them now! :) haha

Also, Deb, I sent you a PM, whenever you have time to check :thumbsup2

I've been sewing my FE bit by bit but now that I'm toward the end, I have to ask .. how far down from the fish should these things hang? :confused3 Ahh, it's the little things that always throw me! Any suggestions?

Try the Mighty Mendit (As Seen on TV). Seems to be working well for us.

Early morning walks might be a plan - I had planned to hit the gym before everyone gets up in the mornings though but we'll have to see how it goes.

The Key West Trolley - if you do Old Town Trolley Tours and buy your tickets through them, they have stops where you can get off and get on through out the afternoon. If you buy them online you save a few dollars and they have a kids ride free promotion. They go to all the places you would want to go - Hemingway House, the southern most point, etc. My mom and husband are going to Hemingway House and my dad and I are taking the kids to the Butterfly Conservatory so I hope that will be interesting. Then we are going on the hunt for Key Lime Pie and DH has to buy his beer to carry on. You can also buy e-tickets for Hemingway House and save a dollar if you purchase them online.

I can't wait to actually get on the road! I am taking 1/2 day off the Wednesday before we leave on Thursday to get a pedicure and go tan one last time. We are leaving Thursday afternoon and splitting the drive up in to two days. I can't even pack until the day before we leave b/c the kids will be in to everything if I do. I have my packing list and a general plan in my head so let's hope it works. :)

Hope everyone is getting excited! Less than two weeks to go!

Just found this forum board, was on Cruise Critic, and didn't see much for a Roll Call for the 4/30 cruise. Very happy to find this one.

Dad and three daughters (12, 9, and 7) heading out for our First Cruise ever!!! The girls are super excited and each has their own calendars. We've done a bunch of shopping and even bought pirate costumes for pirate night.

I am curious to know about the excursions I booked, if anyone has any thoughts. (Good or Bad). Would be appreciated.

Key West - Presidents & Pirates Tour
Grand Cayman - Pirate Ship
Cozumel - Dolphin Swim

Thanks!

12 days till we board the boat!!!

Cant wait to meet u guys. The plan of right now is to wear a lime green ribbon ( the color of the DIS boards) on our sleeves so we can Introduce ourselves to each other. As we couldn't figure out a good time to get every1 together! Alots of girls on this cruise so your daughters will have some built in friends! I have a DD 8 and DD 6.

Excursion wise, we're going the dolphin swim in Cozumel too. It sounds good on paper... haven't read many reviews about it tho.

Good luck with your packing!

I think I might even have started the Cruise Critic roll call, but soon discovered that all the action was here. Glad you found us as well.

Omaima, If you're doing the Dolphin swim at Chankanaab there are many positive reviews of it at TripAdvisor.

I was on the fence about what I would do in Cozumel but I think we are going to take a taxi to Chankanaab and spend the day there checking out the park and snorkeling. We'll probably see you there!

I love your FE!! It's awesome!!! (: I just finished sewing ours: now I just need to put our names and finishing touches on them ("them" being that I made one for my parents' room, and one for our room, as a 5 person FE might have been too big)! :thumbsup2

Hi Rachel, same here!

I've not been on the forum for a while, for some reason I didn't get an email about your PM. But I have not posted enough on here for it to let me reply to you :sad2:

We fly from the UK to Orlando on Thursday. Hopefully my iPad will still work and I won't lose touch with cyberspace!
