This will be our 4th cruise but 1st Western Caribbean. I would love some advise on these new ports. Our ports of call are Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Falmouth. I am looking for advise on the best dolphin excursion in these ports. Also other excursion recommendations for a family of 6 including grandparents, parents and DD 19 and 10. Which ports would you recommend booking excursions and which ports are fine to just explore on our own.

Cayman is generally considered fine to do on your own. You might want to check out some of the big attractions here like Stingray City, Rum Point, the Turtle Farm, or Seven Mile Beach. While you can go with the ship's tours, many prefer to use private operators for a more personalized (and less crowded) experience.

Also less expensive to set up on own. Disney will always add to the cost if you are doing an excursion that they setup.

Check the forums for reviews. Have seen many operators named.

We've done Dolphinaris in Cozumel and enjoyed it. Felt comfortable in Grand Cayman also and did the turtle farm there which was fun. I haven't stopped in Jamaica on a cruise but have been there. Didn't feel safe at all except at the resort.
