I think the heat in SoCal is miserable! You have a humidity factor that AZ doesn't have.

At least I didn't get a third degree burn on my feet while walking to the pool, which happened in Scottsdale.

Yup, the same deal I mentioned yesterday, but I believe it's only in Michigan.

I must have missed something in my frantic skimming! What happened to hiring the neighbor boy for $15? Sounds like a great deal to me!

I was never able to find the neighbor boy. I'm thinking his family may be on vacation because they've all been gone all week. They spend a lot of time at a lake during the summer.

We're always up for a trip to DL! Just depends on the kiddies' busy calendars. Plus, September starts up gymnastics meet season and our gym hosts several meets, so I never plan much of anything September through November. We just have to be spontaneous and go places when we can.

Well, it's apples and oranges to me. Humid heat is miserable, no doubt about it. But the summer heat in Phoenix can just suck the breath right out of me. And if you have to drive, meaning parking and getting in and out of a hot car, not just driving from point A to point B, it's especially horrendous. They say that the temp in a parked car gets up to 130º+ in a very short time.

I hear that. I hate getting into my car here AND I just stayed in the water in CC so I was fine.

Actually, those first few moments out of the theater in the sun are great...as you are chilled to the bone from the over airconditioned theaters. But that warm up feeling is long gone by the time you get the car started and are waiting for the airconditioning to get going!




Hey....I was one of the first to say "I'll be there" (though it may have been in a PM and not a post). Already got my vacation approved and will be booking hotel this weekend. Cheri...Peacock Suites 2 bedroom OK with you if I can get if FOR FREE!!! ???? Lemme know your thoughts.

I am!! In the 80s today. We took my mom out for a bit. She is kind of stuck here on the mountain while we work, she likes to wander around Target, KMart, WalMart, etc. so we took her out to Target and KMart today. When we got out of the car at KMart I said "wow, it's a bit hot!" Then I laughed and told my mom and DrHug that there is just no pleasing me! I did stop complaining very quickly though when I though about the alternative!

None yet This has been a weird week though, I haven't received ANY mail all week, not even junk mail I had my mail stopped when I was away, and it was all delivered as expected when I got back home, but I'm wondering if a mistake has been made and they've stopped it again?? If I don't get anything on Monday I'll call the post office and see...although...no bills...it sure is nice

Identity thieves are putting in change of addresses here. The news said if you don't get mail for a couple of days CALL and the post office has now started verifying before initiating the change of addresses.
