Hi Jan......thanks! The graduation was good. My legs however are not. Since we're back from vacation and off the steroids again, they are sooooooooo very swollen and leaking and yuck! Gotta just take care of them by using the leg wraps and the edema sleves and getting back into a routine. It's a slow process so it will take some more time. Thanks for asking.

Sorry about the legs Deb. It was so good to have them in the fresh air for the cruise, so this is disappointing for you.

Thanks for the birthday wishes - I will pass them on. He got a Wii, Raiders of the Lost Ark and Super Mario Galaxy. He has spent all afternoon on Mario!!! It is hilarious watching him.

Yes, I couldn't believe the Pirate photo was all done and dusted and everybody gone by the time we arrived!!!

Yeah, it's Friday...the kids are done with school. They had a "graduation" ceremony for Taylor this am....yup, I got teary! Where does the time go?! We have our dance recital tonight...Jaide, Taylor and I are all in it...should be fun and then a relaxing weekend at home to get yardwork done.

Almost felt like I was sitting on deck 10 the day we went through PC today as I sat on my deck...but there were no friends around, so that illusion went away quickly

Ian, sounds like your new wedding weekend will be great with lots of friends around to celebrate with you!

None yet This has been a weird week though, I haven't received ANY mail all week, not even junk mail I had my mail stopped when I was away, and it was all delivered as expected when I got back home, but I'm wondering if a mistake has been made and they've stopped it again?? If I don't get anything on Monday I'll call the post office and see...although...no bills...it sure is nice

Me too, though if I lived over there I would feel it even more as you can all meet up so easily.

Not that easy for us to meet up. It's a mighty big country and we're sort of scattered around, from the cities, to the mountains, to the prairies, to the oceans white with foam ... gosh, I think I feel a song coming on.

No fair teasing you Marilyn. In truth we are a bit scattered around, with some concentrated pockets in California and Florida.

Of the folks active on the thread now, Jan in Indianapolis, Indiana is the closest to me at 185 miles and then Holly in Lansing, Michigan at 219 miles.

We picked up our framed Ducky Litho and the cruise pins mounted on the board (If you can't tell, I'm not working today. I had taken day off because we were supposed to be back home and celebrating today).

The framer, who is a couple of blocks from our house did a really nice job. If you're all good I'll take pictures of the pictures.

If I'm feeling industrious I'll also take photos of our neighborhood (neighbourhood for our friends to the north and east) to give you all a flavor of Lincoln Square here in Chicago.

The embarrassment doesn't end.

I just got the mail and there was a card from the president of my synagogue congratulating us on our wedding. He and his wife also made a donation to charity in our honor.

Can you ask for that type of wedding present back?

Sukie and I stopped off at the synagogue this afternoon to pick up our supermarket shopping cards for the month. We also had to cancel our appointment with the rabbi (Actually, Sukie calls the rabbi Bunny ... get it? Bunny rabbi? Bunny rabbit?)

We were supposed to discuss arrangements for a Jewish ceremony, but that will have to wait too.

It was just so embarrassing, because people were wishing us "mazel tov."

Sukie told the rabbi's secretary that will have to put off seeing "Bunny" until after we've seen Mickey.

That is true indeed. I guess the West coast folk, particularly the Cali ones, and those closer to WDW have the most options of meeting up.

It all seems closer though from where I am.

Having said all that, we are at WDW in December and again in September 09, and on the west coast in May/June 09, so I really am not complaining.

We have the September Tortola cruise booked and no other Disney trips planned before it. We live about 1000 miles from WDW. Not as casual a trip as I would like.

funny how they now think they "need" to have such a nice standard of entertainment. I seem to remember going outside and playing in the dirt with rocks and sticks and being happy when I was a kid.

Yep, we had very little when I was little, no classes, no vacations, no teams outside of school. But I had friends... There were 8 girls on our street and 6 of us still get together for all holidays, b'days etc.

She is doing swimming and a few things with girl scouts. We are booked all year with gymnastics, soccer and now she wants to do cheer leading. It's hard because a lot of time Ethan has things going on at the same time I TRY to take the summer off from MOST activities because most of our friends have pools and we love to go to the beach. The problem is that all of our friend's kids didn't get out of school until today. She'll be better now, I hope. One of my friends just called to invite us over to swim so we will go there instead of the lake. I've taken them to the movies and the library for a little program they do. She just wants to swim or go to the beach. I think she is spoiled by the cruise. The other problem I have is that Ethan likes to sleep in and stay around the house so I'm pulled in two directions.

Man, I was hoping I had some relief idea for you.... but you've already got it all down! Our kids are of the instant gratification era.

I just want to take a moment to thank everyone for being so wonderful.

Eighteen months ago, all I thought I was doing was booking a cruise. I never thought I'd be making so many new friends.

So sweet. I know what you mean, my childhood friends tease me about going to hang out with my dis-friends and cruise buddies. They think its a riot and they always say they are jealous.... ding, ding, ding log on and get to know folks.
