We live in a big city. Jon's grandpa built it and we have 4 lots. No one else has this kind of property but the house was built in the 60's!

I think you know that we live in the house I grew up in. We bought it from my parents 10 years ago. We've decided to look into a big remodel this fall. Seems unlikely that we will find our "perfect" house in half moon bay, so might as well live here the next whatever years more comfortably. Lots of our neighbors have done big add ons in the last year or so. we might even go to a 2nd story. I just don't want to live here for another 10 years feeling like we are compromised.

Just got off the phone with Ian... they didn't get married after all... paperwork got messed up... he's frazzled about it.

We're looking forwards to California!!!

Blame it on Ontario - not Canada - they are weird out there with their regs!

Well..I have had a great start to our summer. My daughter has turned a one night sleepover with her cousins into 3 nights. She just called to ask is she could stay again...love it. So I have been watching lots of movies at home, just me and the cat and the dog. I can recommend Jumper and The Other Boleyn Girl. I think I might read that book now.

Oh and we got our summer reading books for work and I was given "the 10 people who Suck: A positive prescription for improving communication in the workplace"

I like the title so it can't be all bad....

You'll have to let us know how that book is - I might need it to survive my job

He was fantastic! Seemed to be a nice guy too. He was my partner for throwing candy around at the Mexican deck party.

One more fun picture for today. At the end of school, we always have a MOP (Massive Outdoor Party) at church where the kids get to cut loose!! This year we made a HUGE mudpit...it was so much fun!! (someone in the ajoining neighborhood called the police this year....so funny a kids church party getting busted up by the police...even the officer was laughing!!)

Hi everyone. We're back.

As you know from Michelle, the wedding did not happen.

There was a screw up with documentation that we needed from a Canadian lawyer.

I had started this process back at the end of March. There were documents that were supposed to have been sent to the provincial government and had not.

So, the net net is it did not happen.

We're justing going to to wait for California, which from a paperwork perspective will be much easier anyway.

Needless to say, we're more than a little bummed out. But, I suppose we waiting 21 years for this, we can wait until September.

Who wants to celebrate the "official" wedding in DL with us?

Off to Molly's friends bday pool party, then Paul and I cut out for my nephew's HS graduation. The kids are hanging with their friends today and then VBS tonight. Which they have loved. It's theme is Power Lab, everything is all decorated crazy scientist way.

Tomorrow the boys are going to practice for the race on Saturday. Molly and I have a day of hanging out. Afternoon brings a friends 4 year old bday party, then final night of VBS. Saturday the big race and then we have a school friends bbque at the beach in Santa Cruz ending in a bonfire. Recover on Sunday that's my plan.

What's everyone else got going on?

Not much for me. I'm dog-sitting until Sunday. I stay here most of the time, but go over to my own house for a few hours every day. Sunday I'm going to see Get Smart with some friends. I'll just enjoy being at home next week, maybe working on my scrapbook or doing some crafts. Next Friday I'll go to Scottsdale to spend the night, next day take sis & fam to the airport for their trip to Wisc. for 8 days. I'll stay there a couple of days with the dog & then bring her back up here where it's cooler until Thurs. or Fri., then back down to pick them up.

Got some reservations made today for a trip to DL with Dylan (my nephew) July 11-15. Going to dog-sit again for them later in July when they go on an Alaska cruise. This dog-sitting gig is working out quite well for me this summer. I love dogs and the extra $$ is nice, too.

It's been in the mid 90s here--UG! This too shall pass. At least it gets down into the 50s at night. Great sleeping weather!

You're so right about not going anywhere without your camera! As soon as you do, you can count on missing THE picture of the trip!

Ken, I ordered that lens for my camera. It's supposed to arrive tomorrow! Used some of my dog-sitting $$ to get it. I'd like to take it to DL in July and try some night shots and fireworks shots but I don't know. I'll be with my nephew and the trip will be all about rides and getting wet, at least during the day. Maybe I can stash it in a locker and bring it out at night when things settle down...oh wait, I don't think things ever settle down with a 10 year old boy, do they?

It is my John's birthday today. Happy birthday John.

We finally got into the mid 60's yesterday. In the next couple of days I think it is supposed to warm up to the mid 70s. I don't think we are going to have a summer up here in the northwest

I think he is finally over it. He took the last of his second round of antibiotics day before yesterday. The coughing has stopped. He will be touched that you asked.

So glad to hear Dennis is finally beating this. Wow, he was poorly when we met in epcot before the cruise. Poor Dennis.

I got DH John a Garmin nuvi 660 GPS for the car. He loves toys like that. We usually use a GPS when we rent so we know how to get around to where we want to go. So I bought him one to keep that will do everything including audio books. Cool! Many things to play with.
