Deb: Good to see you here! You've been busy with your trip for the graduation. :goodvibes

Monica: Have a WONDERFUL weekend! :goodvibes

CAN IT BE 5:00 YET?! Yup, once again, NO WORK for me to do. One attorney I'm working for isn't in yet and the other won't be in all day. Good grief, this is going to be a long day!

I've only been to Mimi's once, but I loved it. I just got a free breakfast cert by email a few days ago. :cool1: Must be time for another visit.

Jackie and Cheri, did you get anything from Mimi's?

We didn't use our gift certificate debarkation day...went to Goofy's Kitchen instead. Speaking of which, I think the quality of food there is not what it used to be....at least for breakfast/brunch. :worried: Or it was overpriced for the quality you got. Breakfast at Storytellers is much better....taste-wise.

Man...this week just flew by. I didn't do so well in the eating healthy department...there was fried chicken and pizza consumed in inappropriate amounts. Time to restock on healthy supplies and get cracking. I just want to focus on loosing twenty pounds...that's a managable number to shoot for. ::yes::

Happy Birthday John, hope you have/had a great day!

Glad to hear Dr Hug is finally feeling better too.

Ginamarie, did I say "Congrats" yet? Well, I have now!

Monica, have a great time!

Well, time to go dig up last year's self appraisal form...time for the old annual performance review and puny pay raise. Good news is, when they froze the retirement fund, but enhanced the 401K, I'm getting an EXTRA 2% (of my annual salary) in company funds for the next seven years, so that's like a 2% raise above and beyond whatever my regular pay raises will be. Just got to remember as soon as they put it in to move it from stock to one of my better performing funds (don't want to have too much in company stock....that old Enron feeling, you know).

ok.....enough blathering...time to get this FRIDAY started!

.

Are they going to shut us down today? If so I hope it's soon so that I can find the new thread before I leave.

Removed. What I posted is no longer available. Sorry.

Quick before we get to the next page -

Sounds like everyone has lots of plans for this weekend.

We are going to see Get Smart tomorrow after work. And on Sunday we're going to breakfast with friends (Mimi's). the rest of the weekend will be spent purging and cleaning.

And packing for MY scrapbook vacation next week. (Darrell isn't going...)

We are having DD, DSIL and 2 friends over for dinner on Sat. They want to see our trip photos. DrHug bought a new TV yesterday that has a port to plug his IPod into. He can put the photos on the IPod and show them on the 37 inch TV. I can't wait to see how that works. :hyper: Making manicotti. Otherwise, I'm mowing that yard today :( , a bit of grocery shopping and some cleaning.

Best of luck with this. I'm right there with you. I've gained SO MUCH weight since the cruise. Must be a delayed gain or something because I got off the same cruise a couple pounds lighter than when I got on. Anyway, none of my clothes really fit anymore and I refuse to buy a bigger size. I just can't let that happen. SO.....I keep telling myself "today will be the day I start" working out or eating better, but haven't been able to force myself yet. Maybe this week. :thumbsup2

I'm so jealous that everybody gets to share this day with you. Remember things happen for a reason, nothing is coincidence. Sept 5 is a very nice anniversary date. I was married in Sept too so I'm very partial. If you were doing it at World, I would be there with you in a heartbeat. Land, is going to be a little too far and expensive for me to get to.....so I will be with you in spirit and I know it will work out perfectly for both of you. Looking forward to all the pictures.

Thank you so much. We'll be in WDW in January or February so we can celebrate by having dinner or tea at the GF (ask Monica).

Yesterday, when I posted, we had just arrived home. All I can say is we were numb. We're not used to things going wrong. Sukie said in the airport waiting to go home, that I normally plan everything with military precision, so he's just not used to stuff not happening.

As I said, we've been together 21 years, so we can wait, though I have to say, we were really starting to get excited.

I have to agree with you, everything happens for a reason.

We'll now just plan on California, after all, a Californian marriage license is not to shabby, is it?

PLEASE NOTE THE SIGNATURE.....I've been busy booking my next DISNEY fixes. We're scheduled to do WDW at the beginning of Oct 08. Then I booked B2B Tortola East and West for Sept 09. I'm happy now knowing that there is more mouse time in my future.

We will have to get together in Oct!!!1

I like the sound of that tv/ipod thing! Definitely let us know how it works :thumbsup2

Hi everyone. We're back.

As you know from Michelle, the wedding did not happen.

There was a screw up with documentation that we needed from a Canadian lawyer.

I had started this process back at the end of March. There were documents that were supposed to have been sent to the provincial government and had not.

So, the net net is it did not happen.

We're justing going to to wait for California, which from a paperwork perspective will be much easier anyway.

Needless to say, we're more than a little bummed out. But, I suppose we waiting 21 years for this, we can wait until September.

Who wants to celebrate the "official" wedding in DL with us?

I'm so sorry to hear the news Ian. We were thinking about you guys all day yesterday. But you're right a CA license is a great one to have.... I have one and so do several others on this thread!

I know what you mean, I plan things so perfectly that when they go so wrong it surprises us and I have to say there is a reason for it... although I never know what it is at the time :rotfl:

You'll have a great day that day. BTW, they were running all the totals of marriage licences granted on Monday and it was record totals in every county. In SoCal we had well over 1000. The pictures of everyone sleeping over night in a long line were great. First day of Kindergarten is on Thursday, so we'd love to come over and witness and/or celebrate with you two. We'll already be in a bit of shock after drop off, so it should be a great day (either day.) Do let me know if you need any help.

So today I didn't do very much. DISed a little and cleaned house. Talked to a few friends on the phone. I made buffalo chicken wraps and mac salad for dinner. Everyone likes my mac salad.

Brooke is totally bored and continues to ask what we are going to do all the time. I think I might take them to the beach tomorrow or a near by lake that has water slides. I'll let you know where and how it goes tomorrow.

Gaylean, do you have brooke in any of the community classes? DD is in ballet, tap, gymnastics, swim lesson and free swim, theater camp, cooking and under the sea camp later this summer. You have that morning walk around the Ontario Mills mall each morning that is fun to do too. You don't have to stay in just the Ontario classes too, you could get her into all the surrounding city programs as well. Newport has hula lessons, surf camp, princess class. Would that help with the boredom factor? I won't give you the stats on kids who are bored, it would curl your hair on what happens to them. Of course, over processing has similar effects! :confused3

Not shabby at all...Are you just getting your license or having them marry you? Some counties here are just issuing licenses not doing the marriage...check it out before you come..also make your appt. I live near SF and most of the offices around here are currently booked through August. Hope that helps!
