When I was gathering graphics, etc. for my 40 year reunion (class of '67) it seemed like the really big shift from preppie to hippie happened in the summer of '67, right after we graduated. In my senior year, the hippie thing was a novel idea, but I didn't feel like it grabbed hold in my world until '68.

That feels about right. Some of us were in college and others were on acid.

That's what it LOOKED like! I think it was supposed to be a lavender color...but it was very greyish and looked just like fish skin.

I DID live through the 60s and some of my preferences are still there or in the 80s like off-white walls throughout my home.

We don't have TIVO either.
I just got a Raspberry because I drowned DH's cell phone in Quiet Cove Pool.
We were the last people on the block to get a microwave, dishwasher, etc.
We only got Caller ID because I was TIRED of sales calls. Now we are on the DO NOT CALL LIST
I am technologically challenged and do not mind admitting it.

We're there with you. We finally got cell phones with cameras in them back in March. Still don't text or anything.

No caller id or tivo for us yet either.

Though I do love my iPod

Will & Mickey took me to the Strawberry Festival last year and not only did I see fried snickers but also:

Fried.....
Oreos
Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
Pickles
Green tomatoes (yummy)
twinkies
cheesecake

I've had the oreos - tasty.

And everytime I go to NC we go to a place that serves fried pickles! Super good!!!

Hi All.....we have arrived......we're in Virginia Beach now and it is so very nice. My brother got here and so did Brian and Linda, my brother by choice and his wife! I'll show you some pictures of them later when we all get together. For now, here's some scenic pictures.

I now know that there are cruise meets that are very much not like this and my last two cruises. I introduced me and DM on the Feb 8/09 4 day thread almost a week ago and no one has even said hi. Others have been acknowledged, I was hoping it was just a really slow moving thread, oh well.

What was it supposed to be? Was it a sugar coating of some sort? I wish I had seen one, if for no other reason than to tear it apart.

Was it chocolate? vanilla? fruit flavored? cake? mousse? frosting?
