Do Dennis and Angie do yard work??? Um NO! We are grandparents, we play with kids, we drive a house, we roast marshmallows and hot dogs, we do NOT do yard work.
That's really hard for a scrapbooker - we have a tendency to collect things![]()
well we had a rash of rain last night - John's game was rained out - it was at 9:30 anyway so that was good news.
I think we are going to have fondue tonight. I have two brand new pots begging to be used. Or maybe tomorrow night.
The girls actually got up on their own since there was water play at school.
I don't know what to do with those pins. We got four and no one here wants them.
So I gotta ask for some help here ...
On July 17-20 my town is having our annual summer festival. We call it Billy Barker Days in honour of the BC Gold Rush of the late 1800's that happened in this area (thus the giant gold pan as our town symbol).
We have a nice little parade (it's not too fancy, but it is one of the largest family parades in the interior of BC).
This year my dad wants to enter his 1926 Cadillac:

and his 1963 Cadillac convertible
. I will be driving the '63 and was thinking of putting my girls in it as well.![]()
My question is this:
What should I and the girls be wearing for "period" outfits to go with the car? Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. Well maybe, as Shannon might have to make the outfits ...![]()

I did it one cabinet at a time. Even thinking of more was overwhelming.
The fullest one was the glasses and mugs. I emptied the cabinet, wiped down the shelves and put back only the things I LIKED. Then I showed the rest to my DH, DS#2 and his friend who might as well be DS#3. If there was anything they wanted it went back in, otherwise it was going. They chose nothing, so into the double handled shopping bags it all went and into the car to be offered to my homecare client families.
If I had been a yard saler I would have put it all in the garage for the sale.
When we did move, I brought stuff to the condo and anything I was not bringing I put in the living room. When people came over to buy or take big items we were not bringing with us (condo is less than half the size of the house) I invited them to help themselves. Every couple weeks my friend Ann came and took boxes of stuff to the church resale shop that raises money for missionaries.
Only one guy was not happy with my plan. Bill said that Janet brought home too much of my stuff.Oh well, not my problem.....

Just keep asking, Does this clutter make my butt look fat?
We are trying to move to an ocean view, so we have to downsize the junk.
We break down the house room by room and drawer by drawer. Everyone is in charge of something each day. Its easier to tackle this way. It all goes into rubbermaids and into the office for sorting: give away, donate, sell on Ebay, sell at garage sale. Nothing new comes into the house.
WOW!!! Cool cars!

From the second site:
"COSTUMES / FASHION
The 1960's began with crew cuts on men and bouffant hairstyles on women. Men's casual shirts were often plaid and buttoned down the front, while knee-length dresses were required wear for women in most public places. By mid-decade, miniskirts or hot pants, often worn with go-go boots, were revealing legs, bodywear was revealing curves, and women's hair was either very short or long and lanky. Men's hair became longer and wider, with beards and moustaches. Men's wear had a renaissance. Bright colors, double-breasted sports jackets, polyester pants suits with Nehru jackets, and turtlenecks were in vogue. By the end of the decade, ties, when worn, were up to 5" wide, patterned even when worn with stripes. Women wore peasant skirts or granny dresses and chunky shoes. Unisex dressing was popular, featuring bell bottomed jeans, love beads, and embellished t-shirts. Clothing was as likely to be purchased at surplus stores as boutiques. Blacks of both genders wore their hair in an afro."
Have fun researching. Sounds like you might already have clothing that would work if Shannon does a BIG HAIR STYLE and you get a CREW CUT.

Sounds good to me. I'm done with the yard sales. Everyone around here just buys stuff to sell at their own yard sale so all they want in electronics and yard tools.
I think I remember reading that you can vote 1x per day, right?
I have tons of cruise stuff to sell.
All this bday talk . My 40th bday was the week of 9/11, so it was quite a let down, but my 40s have been my best decade ever. Everyone says that 50s are the new 40s and fantastic, so if this decade has been great, I think the next one will be terrific. Its right around the corner for me.
Yeah that ain't gonna happen!!!
Cant imagine a summer that I wont be taking classes and writing, writing, writing. 2 more years I should be done with school and maybe Ill be laying around too! Now I need a pool!
OK, Camp Kelly can open. Conveniently located half way between the beach and Disneyland, always plenty to do. They will return full of knowledge about theater arts, life skills, gardening, make-overs, sports, the love of food and cooking. I dont teach swimming and they must bring their own sleeping bags. Yes, its expensive and we take paypal!
Ooohhh ooohh I know I know Pick me Pick me!!!

Yup, we do.![]()
I was NOT GOING TO MAKE A SCRAPBOOK of this cruise. I have scrapbooks on shelves in my storage closet across the hall that no one has looked at since I made them, so why make any more![]()
But I got such neat stuff and DH got such neat photos![]()
SO
I limited myself to the DVC book. It is 6 x 8 and was given to cruising DVC members as I understand. It was mostly ads about DVC.
I decided that if I could not chronicle the trip in that, it would not be saved. I had one page for each day at sea, two pages for each port day and 6 for the Panama Canal Crossing day. I used the inside back cover for LA and the flight home. I glued in sections of the Navigator, photos and other things I collected. I had fun and have shared the trip that way with a couple friends![]()
I guess that is tapering down instead of quitting cold turkey confused3 because it is a smaller album than I used to make--maybe?
For souvenir purchasing, we discussed EVERYTHING. Where will we put it, do we need it, will it replace something we can get rid of, etc. Worked for us.![]()
