ok, off to Publix!
We are making provisional plans and second choices for next year. Keeps me from moping around!!!![]()
One of our plans is to visit the west coast area for 3 or so weeks. This would be in addition to a few weeks at WDW. Dates are interchangeable at the moment.
You west coast people, would you recommend May, or September into October for your area? If we go to WDW in May, then we go to the west in September, or vice versa.
no thanks. I just mopped the entry way and kitchen and aside from a bit more laundry I am done for the weekend.
That is a beautiful picture. You must have been up a little before me as I took photos of the sunrise from right before.
Hi Deb!
You're going to have a good time in Va Bch. I used to love going there (it was about 2 hrs from where I went to college). I envy you that you're going back to the beach already....yes, I know I live only about 1 hr away from the beach so I should be able to go anytime I want to ....but life doesn't allow me to! I had been thinking of going this month but w/ MD can't fit it in. Now probably won't go until after Labor Day (wait for hotel prices to go down and less people).
Drive safe! When exactly are you leaving, and when should we expect a check in w/ "I'm back"?
I know I saw you up there most mornings and talked to you a couple times.
It was taken off the end of the ship almost the diagonal opposite end from the sunrise. Does this look familiar...

I'm not really leaving here.....have laptop will travel and be on here.......John said, you're taking your laptop. YUP....and bring the camera thingy to do the pictures too. YUP.....I will be reading and posting and putting up the pics. I won't be far from you guys, just leaving home again for a weekend.
I love the beach too but John is not a sand person so unless I go by myself I won't make it on the shoreline. We need the platforms and cushions that we had in Cabo then John won't have to touch the sand. We'll have a terrace overlooking the ocean and beach and that makes me happy. Then we can swim in the pool and since there's no jellyfish and no strong undercurrent, that will make me happy too.
We're going next weekend.....leaving Friday morning. I know you'll have a great time when you go to see your Ian and Sydney.....what a great Aunt you are. I get to play Auntie this coming weekend. I can't believe he's going into the Marines. How time flies.
You're quick! It took me a week to reach that point.ok, you can see the living room floor.
Deb - the hotel sounds like the best of both worlds! I love the beach but I don't necessarily need to be on it....If I could be on that terrace looking at the water and hearing it I'm a happy camper too.
Me too......expecially at night to hear it hitting the shore when we leave the door open but the A/C on high.
Isn't being an aunt fabulous?!?!?! I love that job! I got the cutest little outfit for Sydney in Aruba...hope it fits![]()
Oooh, that will be a wonderful weekend! And we'll all get to see new pictures!I'm doing my 2nd load of- now sheets & towels. I look around at what I still need to do but the coach won't let me go

I've been updating my tr - I think I'm obsessed with trying to finish it.
Looking forward to flying to MD on the 20th...for Ian's (nephew) bday - can't believe he'll be 13! Can't wait to see Sydney too. Will fly up Friday & back on Monday.
After catching up with all my shows today, I'll start reading it and other trip reports. Maybe tonight after Tyler's in bed.Monica, I have your blog bookmarked and keep checking to see if any more is completed. Really enjoying it.
Boy does that ever look familiar. We must have been standing pretty close to each other. Here is mine, just one from a whole series I took of that sunrise.

Deb, you're going to have a great time! Looking forward to pictures.Hey There......we finally got some hot weather......John says it's supposed to be in the 90's all week. Local pool, here I come.....or stay home in the A/C.
Packing my weekender bag from my cruise bag.....those things that I didn't wear......because you know, on every trip, no matter how well you plan it there are always clothes that you didn't wear. I just need to bring a bathing suit, shorts and a tee and a dress...that's it, done! I've got an oceanfront room in Virginia Beach.....with an indoor pool. John hates the sand so we'll be at the pool.
Tristan graduates on Saturday. My brother will be there and my adopted brother, as I call my friend from high school, Brian, and his wife Linda will be there. I met Brian the first day of 9th grade and he's been like a brother to me ever since. He has even lived in our house when we were younger and then again later he lived with mom even after me and my brother had moved out. So he really is like my brother. I tell him he's my brother by choice. We have always been there for each other. He's Tristan's Godfather and he'll be with us in Virginia Beach.
That's it.....that's all that's left of my family now. We have to pass the torch on to the next generation. I didn't have any kids of my own, Brian and Linda didn't have any kids, only my brother has two sons with his exwife. The next generation has become smaller.
Tristan's younger brother, Casey, broke his ankle skateboarding. This should be a lot of fun, seeing him gimp around. From what I hear, he has already been back on the skateboard with his caste. Youth! Wasted on the young.
I'll post pictures when I get there next weekend.
I'm avoiding everything I should be doing because I just took a nap! Well, I actually fell asleep while watching shows and slept for about 2 hours. Very nice!well...I'm avoiding chores....maybe I'll just get cleaned up and go shopping and to a movie......
YES....more trip report, please!
Spring in Florida, Fall in California.
May is generally cooler/less humid in FL. Sept can still be quite hot and humid, though it's getting pretty lovely in October.
May in California can be hazzy and cool (as we've just experienced) and the fall is nicer.
Just my thoughts......
Oh....check out the dates for the Flower & Garden Festival in Epcot, I think that's usually April/May (maybe just April). I really enjoyed that!![]()

I don't know how useful these will be to you but you can look and judge for yourself.
I have pictures from my trips to DL and WDW both in May and October for both locations.
Here are some pics from DL in May of 2005:

Here are some pics from DL in October of 2005:

On to the other side of the continent.
Here are some pics from WDW in Oct/Nov of 2006:

And of course you were just there in May of 2008 so I won't bother posting those pics.
They might give you some sort of idea as to the weather or what to expect. One thing I really liked about WDW in Oct/Nov was the Food and Wine Festival in Epcot. Shannon and I really enjoyed that, moreso than the Flower and Garden we saw this time.
I know I saw you up there most mornings and talked to you a couple times.

LOL - I just counted, I have 28 of that sunrise not counting the moon setting and "dawn" before the sun finally appeared from behind those mountains.
Sorry I didn't speak. I guess I am just too shy.
He came yesterday. I called him before I left work and told him he might want to postpone because there was an awfully strong line of storms all the way down the state, and they were supposed to keep coming all night because the line continued down through Missouri and it was continually moving northeast. There were tornado warnings in the counties he'd be driving through, storms predicted for my city were supposed to have up to 75mph winds with golf ball size hail. At the time I talked to him, storms had just finished in his city and the radar showed he was in a clear spot before the next batch was due, so he was going to travel in between. But 1/2 hour later he called me to tell me it got bad again because of the hail and it was pouring so hard he couldn't even see his truck in the driveway. But then about an hour later he called to say it stopped again and he was on his way while he had the chance. NO more storms came, so all was good.Hi Holly......when are you going to see Steve??? How do you feel about him after all this time???![]()
