Monica, you are close to WDW and that makes up for anything I am close to.

Okay, I am about to bore you but we just got these in the mail and I have to share. I now have proof that I actually did this.
At the end

HEY! How did you get photo's of yourselves? Chuck and Mike went on the OutDoor Adventure, but they had to leave their cameras behind. I sure wish I had some pics of them! Those are so great!

I have to unpack this weekend and repack. Next Friday and Saturday nights we'll be in Virginia Beach for my nephew's graduation from High School. Tristan is my brother's oldest son. He'll be going into the Marines as soon as he graduates and will be out of boot camp in December 08. He's surely going to grow up now.

ok, I am not blonde, the camera is on!! I had to go to my pc then click the canon thing, before it just did it by itself??

Can't you just take the SD card out of the camera and put it in a slot in the computer? If you don't have that option, I know you can take your SD cards to Walgreens and they can put them on DVD's for you.

Connie

Wow, the Marines! That's great! Chuck and I are going up to Sterling, Illinois next Friday for my best friend's surprise 60th birthday party. We are actually going by ourselves, and Patrick is going into respite care for 5 nights. He is looking forward to going to "camp".

Then at the end of June, Chuck's nephew is getting married in Rock Falls, Illinois, his wedding was planned while we were on the cruise......it'll be fun, outdoors at his mom and dad's house in the country....a big family thing, so we are all going to that.

And Chuck says I have to figure our a way to travel with only carry on luggage, I just don't see how I can do that! But I'll try to cut back! The luggage we had to deal with on the cruise was just too much trouble.....next time I am going to wear the same thing every day!

OH! have a great time! I still need to take Patrick to the new parade at Hollywood studios.

Today's Silly Story

Sukie and I went to Home Depot. He wanted 20 bags of mulch and a new fountain for the yard to replace the one we bought last year, because it cracked from the ice that formed in it.

So off we go in our Smart Car, Mrs. Fezziwig.

The plan was to get everything delivered.

A very nice young man at Home Depot suggested that for $20 we could rent a "Load and Go," a truck.

Why we suddenly had the burning desire to save $39 is beyond me.

So, we load the 20 (water logged, it rained today) bags of mulch on flatbed hand-trucks.

Sukie is limping today and using his cane.

I end up doing most of the loading on the hand-trucks.

Sukie is getting upset with me, as we now have some sort of manhood thing going on.

I try to make him feel better by saying telling him it's not unusual for old women like him to lose their strength.

We drag the hand trucks to the cashier and then I, like mule, haul them across the parking lot to the other end of the store.

I rent the truck.

The young man who rents it to me, is rude and odd.

I can take rude. I can take odd. Together it was annoying.

We (I) now have to load the truck. This was a farce in an of itself, as I was not bred for manual labor.

It now comes time to drive the truck.

Some of you might have seen the size of the car I drive. Now imagine me driving a big flatbed truck. Imagine me, in a Chicago alley, under the El trying to back the flatbed truck into the garage.

Sukie gets out of the truck. Apparently he has lined up legions of neighbors to help us unload.

It's odd, because it seems like there was some kind of alien invasion during the time we've been at Home Depot, because suddenly all of the neighbors have disappeared.

We manage to unload the truck, and I back on the road.

I have to stop to put gas in the truck.

We pull into a gas station, and now Sukie and I are perplexed because we can't find the gas cap. I do however, discover that there was a pull out ramp we could have used to just walk everything onto the flatbed, rather than my lifting and throwing bags of water logged mulch.

We finally get back to Home Depot.

I pay for the rental and we go back to Mrs. Fezziwig.

Now comes the insult. Someone has stolen the pith helmet Mickey head antenna topper I bought at Animal Kingdom. I'm PO'd.

Sukie and I decide to never try to do any loading and hauling again.

Oh, and there were some other funny things that happened both in Home Depot and in the parking lot, but that's my next posting, "Life With a Celebrity."

Living With a Celebrity

The history documentary was a couple of days ago, and now the fallout continues.

Sukie has been stopped at the bank, on the El, in the supermarket. "Aren't you that guy that was in that documentary?"

I'm very happy for him.

Today in Home Depot he was stopped several times. He was even stopped by one gentleman, who, in broken English asked him if he knew where he could go to meet "lady-boys."

In the car ride home from Home Depot, Sukie is going on and on about his experiences and the celebrity status he has had the past few days.

Silence for a block or two. He then turns to me and says, "Enough about me. How do you feel living with a celebrity?"

Man, I'm glad I ate dinner with you guys. Now I can say that I knew him before the world did! :rotfl: I wonder if I'll get interviewed by E! True Hollywood Stories and have to tell of the times he slept through the movies on deck, just like a regular person.

Stay yourself Sukie! Don't let those Hollywood types at PBS change you! ;)

Thanks for your kind words. We had a great view from where we were. The box seat area is sort of part of the show and that just added to my enjoyment of the show.

yea, I really couldn't see most of the show from my seat, but the interaction with the Billies was great.

Goodmorning all,

Lisa (LisaG520) did I see you post that you were moving? and that Darrell is an archeologist? I was watching the National Geographic Ghost Ships the other night and it popped in my head that I had read that and wondered how many jobs there are that are absolutely facsinating for archeologists.

Yep on both accounts. We're moving to Jacksonville, FL the end of July and Darrell is an archaeologist for the Navy - though it's not terribly exciting. Mostly overseeing contracts for contractors to do the surveys on the bases.

Ian, too too funny about HD and Suki. A great story to end my day of listening to tech sales pitches.

Ian, please tell Sukie I love him

you of course know that goes for you too, without saying it.

Paul wants to know if Mr Celebity will sign his book for us???

Hey Connie, I hear ya girl.....John and I said the same thing about the luggage. Some of the airports we went through took forever to get to the plane from the street and we lugged some heavy bags. It was aweful. We said next plane ride, one carry on each with wheels and a handle and that's all.....nothing else. Going to Virginia Beach, we'll drive so it won't be a problem. But if we do fly to Orlando before the end of the year, that's the way it's going to be.

Hope you have a great time at the birthday party......remember to enjoy that alone time while you can with your hubby. Then have a blast at the wedding too. Share the pics when you have them.

Oh Ian and Sukie, you make my plith and boring day a very good one because I didn't have to deal with the hell that you guys had to go through......but you kept me laughing the whole time......very funny, very very funny. Thanks for the laughs!

Love it!

COOL TIES...

A few of you asked about making the Cool Ties that mom and I did for the FE gifts... (although I can report that making 106 of them creates lots of quality time spent with the makers of such ties ::yes:: - mom and I watched TV everynight while making them...for 3 weeks!!! )

Here is the pattern that I used... they are really easy if you can sew even a little bit (and I can sew a little bit - Yes Steve.. you're FE was a little bit!!!) You can get 8 of them per yard if you just fold the fabric in half and then again, I think 2 more times...

http://www.p2designs.com/ShipCooler.htm

I use Shultz's water crystals. You can get them online but I found mine in Home Depot. YOU ONLY HAVE TO USE 1/8 OF A TEASPOON OF CRYSTALS PER POCKET IF YOU MAKE THE 4 POCKETS... 1/4 IF YOU ONLY DO 2 POCKETS PER TIE. So a bottle of the crystals goes a long way... HINT... they are also GREAT to use in your garden and especially your containers... the crystals are the same crystals that Miracle Gro potting soil is putting in their moisture control soil. They hold alot of water and you have to water less.

Have fun and if you have any questions... let me know!!!

Michelle - thanks for posting - I loved the one in the FE and was wondering if you made them. Now I can make them for our next cruise - but I'm going to stop at 5. 106 - WOW!!!

Hi All.....I'm so glad we're still posting here.....I miss you all! I'm so glad we had some Magic together.

I came home with the cruise crud also.....cough, congestion, head, chest, couldn't breathe....lots of fun!

I'm enjoying reading everyone's stories and seeing everyone pics and tr's. Thanks for that. It keeps me from having to go through withdrawals. I think Jill said it best, I could sit and eat dinner with my friends or I could sit and eat with my cat! Being with all of you on this this journey made it magical. I'm so thankful to all of you for that.

I hear that there's going to be a Monterey meeting soon.....I'm so jealous and wish that I could be there with all of you. Then there's the Ian and Soukie weddings.....I love you guys and would love to share your special days with you too. Then who is going to WDW before the end of the year? Monica......you'll be meeting with all of them I'm sure. And now Darrell and Lisa will be able to also. When are you guys moving to Jacksonville....in July?
I have to plan my next mini-meet or I'll be too sad.

We're planning to arrive the first weekend in August - so we'll leave CA around the 29th or 30th. But we haven't gotten a date for the moving truck from the government yet so it could be different.

When are you guys going to FL next?

Do you want me to buy you a new Pith Helmet Mickey antenna topper and mail it to you?

THANK YOU! That would be WONDERFUL! I was really upset that someone had the nerve to take it.
