We are keeping our fingers crossed that it is a go! Are you booked?Hopefully we will be on board!
Yes booked and hoping for the best!We are keeping our fingers crossed that it is a go! Are you booked?
I believe it will be canceled as well. Trying to optimistic but it isn't looking good. I see you were on the Rona Cruise that must have been crazyWoah.. was just checking if this thread has any traction and its virtually non existent
If it sails we're going... but I think this being so deserted is an indication folks intending to go are nervous
If I was a betting man I'd bet this gets cancelled. I hope I'm wrong but this new rona variant is a mean beast.
We are booked as well. I will feel better if/when Disney opens the cruise up for additional bookings as cancelations continue to roll in. Trying to get a feel for whether they are still trying to get down to a number or whether they are not booking additional because of uncertainty of sailingYes booked and hoping for the best!

It was but we avoided most of it because my DD had a major accident in Cozumel that prevented us from completing the cruise... Thank God she's doing OK now but we stayed in Cozumel for 2 weeks & we booked this cruise over a year ago to make it up to her... She'll be crushed if it gets cancelled again. Especially because it seems there won't be one in 2023 either.. In 2024 she'll be in university & won't any desire to go on it if she can't go to Vibe.
Only way I see it happening is if omicron cases somehow start falling dramatically in the next couple of weeks. If by Feb 1 cases are still growing like crazy, the cruise will be canceled.
Oh wow! How awful that your daughter got injured! We did the 2017 WBPC and loved it. I do think this will be the last one (just my opinion) so I really hope this one happens. I agree if cases don't make a fast drop off I fear it won't happen. I am already planning alternate itineraries just in case.
It is special and going through the locks is so interesting. We are booked on the New York to Canada cruise in the fall and if this cruise gets canceled we may add an alaska cruise. Taking it day by day and waiting to see how it unfolds. I hear you about her going to the Vibe. We were booked on a cruise right before covid which would have been my son's last opportunity to go to the Vibe. Now it is just the two of us, since both kids over 18 and not interested anymore. This will be our 3rd cruise without them.Yeah I really want this cruise to happen. Even though we're doing this for her, it's always been a dream of mine to cross the Panama Canal at least once in my life. If we don't get to go, I don't think I'll ever do it and will have to delete that item from my bucket list.
We also have other cruises booked for the summer, but this itinerary is really special.
Hope we get to sail.
I just asked DH last night "if the ship sails, will you feel comfortable being on it?" He has some health issues, we have tried to be extra careful, but we are both vaxed and boosted. He replied "from what I know now, yes."
This cruise is a rebook from a Norway cruise that got cancelled. Booked with DVC points (a mistake I now realize although we've done it many times). If it cancels, our only options are another DVC cruise. We've done Alaska, we've done Canada, we've done Caribbean (eastern.western, southern).
Our main concerns are
(1) flying to NO. We may drive...about 20 hours, then one flight from SD and a 20 hr drive back.
(2) some folks on the FB page have stated they are arriving early for Mardi Gras then the cruise. I used to live in NO....Mardi Gras will be one big Covid spreader. They won't have time to test negative before sailing but will 2-3 days into the cruise.
We didn't book any excursions for first couple of planned stops but did book in Cartegenia. Never been there and would like to but...we'll see. Did book a couple of excursions on other side of canal but ok to cancel.
I'm ok if I spend the cruise on my veranda, walking deck 4 or on the top level above the pool. Don't need the pool, the clubs or the spa.

I really hope this cruise sails. It's definitely a bucket list item for us. Our original plans included 2 days in NO to see the city and visit the WWII Museum but we changed our flight to late evening the night before the cruise and hope to lay low for the 2 weeks leading up to our cruise.
It's great to see covid numbers dropping here in NJ. I was able to get a PCR appt for the end of January just to see where we stand. I might move this to mid-February. If we have had an asymptomatic case and still testing positive, it gives us some time to show our doctor that by departure date, we are fully recovered and safe to travel.
Not so smart of DCL to plan this so close to Mardi Gras. I would have felt better if it were a few weeks earlier or a few weeks later. The scenario described by a pp about spending time in NO and then cruising is a very realistic possibility. I wonder what Disney's plans are for when multiple people turn up positive during the cruise. Does the whole cruise end? Do those positive people and their contacts go to deck 2 to quarantine? I really hope those people change their minds about visiting NO. We will return to visit some other time when we can spend more time there and not deal with MG crowds. NO will still be there next summer and next year; another PC cruise with DCL won't.
We fly out of Philly on American. We are from NJ as welland we are excited to see the numbers drop. Been following it daily. We are flying in from Newark on Wedneday evening. United flight.
