West Palm Beach to WDW

My dad has a place in Pompano Beach, just below W. Palm, and it takes him about 3 hrs to get to WDW. He says it's a pretty easy drive, unless everyone else has the same idea at the same time. Then the road gets busy. He made the drive the day after Thanksgiving a year ago, and it took him close to 5 hrs to get to BWV!!

We've done Disney as a day trip from northern Palm Beach county many times and it is about 3 hours. It would be a lot faster without all the traffic on 192. The FL Turnpike moves very quickly but it doesn't go real close to Disney. We've always gotten off at the Kissimmee exit for 192 but maybe it's smarter to go a bit farther north and take the GreeneWay west? It's very well marked. You can't miss Disney if you're in Central Florida!

Should have mentioned: We are actually traveling from Hobe Sound (near Jupiter) on a Tuesday morning. Don't know if that makes a difference.

WE have made the trip the past 8 years from right below West Palm. Figure 3 hours. From the south take 95 north and then get over to the Florida Turnpike. We took the greenway and it is fast then 192. The trip on the Turnpike is VERY boring, flat land for as far as the eye can see for miles amd miles

I live in West Palm Beach and we were just at Disney. Took us a little less than 3 hours. My mom lives in Hobe Sound which is about an hour north of us. I would say 2 hours. It's a very easy drive.

We just got back from WDW. We were staying with family in Jupiter and drove from there. It took us about 2 1/2 hours door to door. We took the Fla. Turnpike straight out and it was great!!! We left at 8:00 and by 10:30 we were standing in the lobby checking in!

We have been to Hobe Sound many times. My husband and I enjoy Harry and the Natives!

I once lived just north of WPB and we drove to WDW many, many times. It took about 2 1/2 hours. But keep in mind this was back in the late 70s, 95 was not finished so we had to drive through the orange groves, Kissimmee only had a 2 lane road going through it.

ahem-I also remember many a day of skipping school to go to WDW (only MK was there then) on a whim with friends :bitelip:

How much did it cost to drive on the turnpike from West Palm Beach to Orlando? Do they have manned-tollbooths?

I think the cost is around 13 to 15 dollars. I am sure you can check at the turnpike website, yes they have manned toll lanes and they are very happy to help take your money :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
