West jet web check-in?

I have to do web check in in a couple of hours but have never used it before. Does anyone have any experience with this? It says you just drop you bags at baggage check in but if I am crossing the border should I not have to take them thru customs with me? I am flying from Toronto to Orlando on West Jet it would be great if anyone has any experience with this....

Whar tiggerrr said heehhee. In Calgary if you pre-check on the web they have a different line that saves you time so ask for that line.

If you are crossing the border at your first airport, you take your bags to the Westjet baggage check in where they will give you the tags for the bags, but then you take ALL your baggage with you through customs. Once you have cleared customs/talked with the customs officer, there will be conveyor belts for your checked baggage in the area behind the officer.

Drop your baggage on the belts (there will be people there to help/remind you of this) and then go through security with your carry on bags and proceed to your gate.

This is the process for all Canadian airports with pre-clearance facilities. I've cleared customs in Toronto after flying from Edmonton. In that case, we actually have to go claim our luggage from a special area and then follow the steps above to continue our journey. That's why we always try to get a flight that goes to the US.
