west jet thru Toronto..

That's great that you both got your flights. Just a heads up--keep checking with Westjet to confirm your flights. I called a few days ago to confirm the times and the flight we were scheduled for (May 7) had been changed to May 5--two days early!! After a period of panic and scrambling, we were able to book our return a day later--May 8. Now, I am not too upset that we have to stay in Disney World an extra day, but I was upset at the thought of returning early! We received no notification, although Westjet claims that they informed Airmiles but the word wasn't passed along to us. I'm just glad I called to check! We could have shown up for our flight home and there would have been no seats. We do have the cost of an extra day but I'll take that. Just a reminder to check regularly.

i am a obsessive checker..rechecker...confirmer..so I will be checking the flights!!!

im flying calgary to toronto (4 hour layover) then off to Orlando. Is connecting in Toronto really that bad as everyone says it is? Now im getting worried, lol

We're doing the same thing May 12-22. Maybe we'll see you there! It's gonna be a long day leaving at 12:30 AM but getting in at 1PM will give us another 1/2 day of vacation. Hope you have a great time. It will be our first trip to WDW too. I can hardly wait!!!!

We flew Westjet Ottawa-Toronto-Orlando in Dec 2005. Our experience was mixed --- the flight down went smoothly, just a couple of short delays getting our luggage in Toronto. Our experience on the way back was less satisfying.

We had a 3 hour stopover scheduled in Toronto which we thought would be plenty of time. The flight out of Orlando was more than an hour late leaving. When we arrived in Toronto the luggage took more than an hour to make it to the carousel. We then had to go through Canada Customs and then take the luggage to check through to the flight to Ottawa. Had the flight to Ottawa also not been running late it would have been very tight for us to make that flight. I would rather not take another International flight that passes through Toronto airport.

Also don't depend on having TV on the planes, bring some books, games, etc.... To and from Toronto the plane was equipped with TV but on the longer leg, to and from Orlando there was no TV.

Probably the hardest part of scheduling a trip would be getting a flight there. The hotels are usually not a problem. We knew when we wanted to go and when the low season ended for both flying and disney. we booked our flight as soon as the schedule became available ( 6 months out ). Then made the hotel reservation. Since we stayed on resort and booked thru disney, you can book 6 mos ahead, but dont have to finish paying for the trip until last 3- or 45 days. It's like 0% finanicng for the stay. WestJet reserves 6 seats per flight out of Hfx. and we needed 5 so booking ahead was imperative.
