Were you a kid in the 60's? Do you remember this game?

I'm beating my brains out trying to think of the name of this game, and would love to find it and buy it for my kiddo. I thought the name was Kerplunk, but after googling Kerplunk, discovered that it wasn't the game I'm thinking of.

The game I remember involved a slick plastic mat, and you scattered color cards all over the mat. There was a spinner and it would land on a color and then the players had to retrieve as many cards as possible of that color. Cards were retrieved by a plastic stick that had a suction cup on the end. You had to slap the stick around and couldn't use your hands.

Maybe this game is too dangerous to play with all those plastic sticks flying around.

Anyone remember the name?

I don't remember the game you describe, but I do remember a game with marbles that I thought was called Kerplunk. I also remember a game that involved a balloon on an upright pump, and I think the players rolled the dice to determine how many pumps they had to do, eventually popping the balloon. I bet there would be plenty of lawsuits if that game was still sold today.

Wasn't Kerplunk the game with the plastic cylander with holes in it? The pick-up-sticks type sticks that went from one side to the other through the holes, then marbles on the top. You had to try to remove the sticks without letting marbles drop???

Personally, my favorite was mousetrap!

Yes, the marble game you describe was Kerplunk. I think the balloon one was Kapow!

We also played Mousetrap, Uno and Spoon (card game). My current favorite is Apples to Apples.

I don't remember playing Slapstick, but speaking of old games, I remember playing Green Ghost when I was little. I haven't seen that one around since I was a kid. It glowed in the dark and you played it with the lights off.

My grandkids asked me once why we did not have Playstation or xbox at our house. I showed them the game cabinet... they have never asked to play a video game at our house again!!!

Kerplunk is one of their favorites!! Operation, Sorry, Don't Break the Ice, Twister etc. etc.etc.!!

I know that game. I was trying to remember the name and kept thinking of Ker Plunk as well. But it popped into my mind tonight, and it was called Clunk A Glunk, we played it lots in the 70s

I never played Slap Stick. Early games I recall included Chutes and Ladders and Candyland. As we got older there was Kerplunk, Crazy Clock, Monopoly, Stratego, Password, Scrabble, Yahtzee, Risk, the Outer Limits, Masterpiece and RSVP.

I’ll have to take a look in my mother’s attic to see what else there was, as most are still up there. My children played with them too as they were growing up when we were there for holidays and other visits.

And per a previous poster’s comments I played Green Ghost. One of my cousins owned that one. I remember reaching into little boxes with I believe feathers and rubber bands in them to retrieve the pieces you needed.
