We're touring Disney like a 3 year old (2TRs in 1!)- UPDATE 5/18 pg. 46

Ahaha, I just left a comment on your TR! I am slowly getting caught up.

Me too! I totally felt for Rumple. Poor thing, pining away. Looks like they are trying to humanize him a bit more than the evil Queen, who just seems evil.

Oh, side note - do you watch the Voice? Our man Tony Lucca is on it! The teeny bopper inside me totally squealed when I saw him again.

I DO watch the Voice! I about died when I saw him. *sigh* To be a teeny bopper again....wait, no not really. But it did bring back memories for sure. We need the Party to stage a reunion!

Um, and how about Once this week? B&TB is one of my fave movies and so I loved this twist on the tale. Looks like they are setting the stage up for something.....

I just had to comment, that I loved the twist on Once this week! I thought it was such an interesting way for them to go about it. I actually felt really bad for him!

Ahh, I haven't seen it yet! What a slacker I am! Some people said they hated it and some said they liked it so... I guess I'll just have to get back to you on that one!

I have to chime in on this week's Once upon a Time. My family hated it!
We were really excited when we heard Claire from Lost was going to be Belle but when they had Rumplestiltskin as the Beast we thought it sort of jumped the shark. I don't get why he has to be in every story?

I am glad though that you all enjoyed it :)

Aw, sorry that you didn't enjoy it. I had seen previews so I knew that the "beast" was going to be Rumple, but thought that was a nice twist. My husband was taking things too literally and kept asking questions about what happened to the servants since he broke all the plates and stuff. Although I do like that they did pay some homage to the Disney version with "chip." I also really enjoyed seeing more of a backstory to Rumple. I think they are trying to make him more human, and give the impression that the Queen is the more evil between the two. :confused3

Don't know what next week will hold though. I know it's about a mermaid, but I can't imagine it's Ariel. She looks like some water nymph?

Sorry for the big gap in updates. Things have just been a bit busy lately. We took our little girl to Disney on Ice this past weekend. It was fun to have a girls day with some friends. And I have to say, the Tangled portion was so cute. I loved it. Of course she walked away with a fun little Rapunzel cup courtesy of the $12 sno cone she got during the show. Plus my best friend had a baby yesterday so we had to stop by and visit her in the hospital. Those of you on FB can see the pic of our little girl holding the baby. So, now that things have settled down a bit and I am no longer waiting anxiously by the phone for the baby call, I can get back to this TR. I must finish it before our next trip!

When I woke up that Saturday morning, I found that my husband had already left for the airport with the rest of the family. We had all said goodbye the night before just in case we didn’t see them before they left (which obviously I slept through) and our hotel was pretty close to the airport so it wasn’t long before my husband was back from dropping them off. As we got ready to start the day, we checked in with my SIL just to make sure their flights were on time. We didn’t want to head to the parks and then find out that we would have to turn around and pick them back up. But it looks like things were all set with their flight. Hurricane Irene had already passed through Florida and they would be arriving in New England a day before the storm was scheduled to hit, so things were all set. Now that’s not to say that their trip home wasn’t uneventful, because it was certainly not a standard trip home. Because of all the cancellations from the storm, they had gotten tickets to fly back home, but to an airport that was about a 4-6 hour drive away from home. So they were flying back to New England, renting a car, and driving back to their house. Good luck to them. We were heading to our happy place…..

ry%3D400

See? I am happy just looking at that picture. We even arrived relatively early in the day and just missed rope drop. Toontown was closed this time around so we soon saw that the princesses were over at Town hall greeting people and the wait was only 15 minutes. Well, duh! Looks like we had our first stop of the day. I took our little princess over to get in line while my husband ran over to the Main Street bakery to grab some breakfast for us.

ry%3D400

She was practicing her princess pose for the pictures. She remembered the drill already, she was a pro now. Can you tell she was ready for her day at the parks? She had her pin lanyard on, her pose perfected, and was full of energy. Ready for the onslaught of princess pictures? Here we go!

First up, Princess Aurora.

ry%3D400

I just noticed the pretty pink feather quill in her area. I wonder if it really works or if she ever signs autograph books with it?

ry%3D400

They had a nice little discussion over her pins. Our little girl was working on completing the toddler princess set (which apparently I can just buy for about $29 but where’s the fun in that).

ry%3D400

Then it was picture time.

ry%3D400

Bye Briar Rose! It’s been great chatting with you, but I’ve got more princesses to meet!

ry%3D400

Next up was a favorite of hers – Belle.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Once again there was some discussion over the pins. I’m pretty sure that there was at least 2 Belle pins on her lanyard at this point.

ry%3D400

I like this picture because you totally see how immersed into the experience she is. She’s just so happy to be talking to Belle.

ry%3D400

Then they shared a cute little dance (and I was wishing my husband was there with the other camera so that he could have gotten a video of it).

ry%3D400

You can also see that Belle had a yellow feather quill to match her dress. Then it was a pose and a hug and she was off to the next princess.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Belle was kind enough to escort her over to the last princess.

ry%3D400

It was Cinderella’s turn (with her matching feather quill).

ry%3D400

Another discussion on the pins…..

ry%3D400

which seemed to lead into a deeper discussion, probably about how to sew little articles of clothing for mice.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Then she bid farewell to Cinderella and the princesses.

ry%3D400

Time to meet up with daddy and eat some breakfast. I think my little girl ended up munching on a ham and cheese croissant and I had a delish chocolate croissant. We debated hopping over to meet Mickey and Minnie but we could see the line growing before our eyes, so we decided to head over to Fantasyland. It was time to hop on a ride.

Time for one of our Must-dos with the little one.

ry%3D400

One guess…..

ry%3D400

Yup, it's a small, small world! (make sure you make the little finger pinching motions when you say that) Sawadee ka little figures!

It was weird to see so many walls up and around Fantasyland, but we made the best of it. It was fun to get a peek at the Beast’s new castle when we were taking a ride on Dumbo. I think I have a photo that I took coming up later on in this TR. But first, one more princess photo.

ry%3D400

What a perfect way for your little princess to start the day! The pictures are so cute and I love the one where she and Belle are dancing!

I saw the pic on Facebook ( very cute) and it looked like she's growing. She looked older I think?

Can't wait to hear more about your MK day!

Well, seeing as how you are leaving for Disney TOMORROW you'll probably have to wait to read about the rest of the day. Hopefully I'll have updated again by the time you return.

She does look older now. I think she is starting to lose some of her baby fat which makes us both super sad.

Seeing the princesses early on was fun since there wasn't too bad of a wait.

Princesses before breakfast? Sounds about right to me! ;)

Cute pics as usual :goodvibes

YAY for Disney on Ice! What show was in your area? One of the shows was here in September and I went. It had Cinderella, Princess and the Frog, and Tangled. I LOVED it. Also, congrats to your friend about the baby! That's awesome!

...You have a 'NEXT' TRIP coming up???

Love all the princess pictures! SO adorable. :goodvibes:

Yeah, the construction has gotten a little old, but I just can't wait for the finished product!

It didn't take long for your little one to get right back into the swing of meeting characters, did it? But my favorite of all her character meet and greets are the princesses. Don't be surprised if she tells you she wants to be a Disney princess one of these years. So is just so adorable. How wonderful to be back in your happy place! :goodvibes

I love the picture on FB of your little girl with the baby!! :goodvibes She really looks like she's grown up so much since the pics on your TR!

Maybe the princesses started keeping pens in their area for people who forget to bring them? Or they're just big fluffy decorations!

Haha, of course you would understand a princess stop first thing in the morning. I see you are headed on another trip soon?! I think we will just miss each other!

Oh, that was the same show - Dare to Dream. My little girl loved it so much, she had me frame the poster/flyer that came in the mail for it and hang it in her room. Wasn't the part where Eugene and Rapunzel fly through the air so cool?

Aw, thanks! It was actually my friend that came on the Feb. trip with us.

Yes, we do have a "next trip." :goodvibes Coming up in the spring. Once again, not exactly planned but we are doing a big family vacation with my sis and BIL, and my parents. I'm really excited to do Disney with them. We were originally going to try to hold out until Fantasyland was complete, but apparently we need to go on vacation before then. Not that I am complaining, I just wish we had more money! ;)

Oh my, she is always ready to meet characters. She remembers it all at Disney! And don't worry, she has already told me she wants to be a princess when she grows up on occasion. Yes, always nice to be back in our happy place! :goodvibes I still need to get caught up on your TR. I'm a few updates behind.

Aw, I know! She is getting old so quick! It makes me sad to think about.

I know, I was wondering if they really work? Or if they are just for decoration. At least they are not as distracting as the character spot meet and greet place in Epcot.

Haha, that's so funny that your DD thought it was Red Robin! I have a picture with Woody Woodpecker from another park as a kid. This one looks funny because he's dressed, haha.

Haha, I think I belong in Hufflepuff too.

Awww, it's so sad and yet so cute when your DD tries to interact with the Grinch and keeps giving him hugs!

YAY for some DISNEY! Haha, of course, there has to be some meet and greets first! I love how into it your DD is. I wonder if my kiddies will be into meeting characters or if they'll be like me and slightly terrified ... haha.

Yes, I don't even think she knows who Woody Woodpecker is! But she does know who Red Robin is - it's food related. She loves her food.

Yes, I would like to think that I am brave and courageous enough to end up in Gryffindor, but realistically, I'd probably end up in Hufflepuff.

I know, I felt bad that he kept denying her hugs, but thought it was funny at the same time. She just didn't understand.

I am enjoying every minute of the meet and greets before she grows up and decides she is "too cool" for them. I loved seeing the characters as an adult too - but maybe not so much the face ones. Maybe it's tougher for me to pretend that way?:confused3

Um, saw your FB post and am so bummed about BTMRR and Test Track being down too! Both of them? Really? I was so looking forward to going on them. Then again, more time for waiting in line for Rapunzel I guess.

Since we had just been to Disney a few months prior and we had only a limited amount of time at the parks this time around, we were trying to cram in our favorites on this hot day. Readers to the TR know that a beloved fave of our little girl is the Speedway. And visitors to the park in the summer know how hot the park is during the day. So hot. And it’s even hotter out on the speedway….melting.

ry%3D400

See how tilted we are on the course? We were zipping from side to side throughout the ride. Is it still considered whiplash if you are being whipped from side to side as opposed to front to back? I feel like I should know the answer to that. Oh well, nothing says whiplash like letting a little one drive when she can’t even see above the steering wheel.

She’s not even looking at the road!

ry%3D400

Sheesh, no wonder we were crashing all over the place.

So confession, I have no idea what exactly we did next. Sad that I had better memories of the February trip last year than this August one. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I have more photos to jog my memory. Maybe it has to do with the fact that we were totally all over the place in August. I do recall that we hopped over to Epcot for a bit. We had planned on jumping in line to see Rapunzel, but there was a thunderstorm rolling in so she had to go inside as a safety precaution. So instead of waiting out the storm in the pouring rain, we decided to make our way to Epcot and then come back to see Rapunzel at a later time.

However, we made it as far as the turnstiles at the entrance to MK when the skies opened up and let loose. It was POURING rain then. Like torrential downpours. We were going to try to make run for the Epcot monorail but with the lightening in the vicininty, it had stopped running for a period of time too. We even saw one train that was stuck on the track about 50 feet away from the MK stop. I felt bad for them because it’s like they were so close to the park, and yet totally helpless as to getting there. That must have been torture. We contemplated hopping on a bus to BC and getting to Epcot that way versus waiting for the storm to pass.

We decided on waiting on the storm to let up and then taking the monorail over. Mostly because this happened while we were waiting……

ry%3D400

Yup, our little girl passed out. Poor thing must have just been so tuckered out from the whole week. We figured transferring monorail trains would be easier with her in the stroller than taking the bus.

As with all summer showers, it was just a short storm and we were soon walking into Epcot.

ry%3D400

See? All clear now! Now, if you are wondering what rides we were going to hit up at Epcot, let me just stop you right there. I mean, have you “met” my daughter? Psssh. She only had one thing in her mind. So I decided we would take advantage of the Disney Visa meet and greet first. I mean, it was the perfect time for it and maybe it would hold her over so we could go on a ride or two.

I always wonder if they change out the characters between groups? Or if they just have set characters for the day? I don’t know, but I felt like in February, they brought out Minnie Mouse just for her. This day we were meeting…..

ry%3D400

Mickey and Pluto! And my, oh my, our little girl definitely made herself right at home there.

ry%3D400

We even got to jump into the photo as well. My hubby may get mad at me again for posting this pic since it’s a weird angle of him. Oh well.

ry%3D400

Then one last photo with Mickey’s best friend.

ry%3D400

We were then hoping to make our way over to the World Showcase and walk around a bit, but we made a little mistake. We exited that Innoventions building smack dab on the wrong side. We ended up right near the character spot at Epcot, so you know what that means……I’ll try to just show the main pics here since you’ve seen similar ones a few times on this TR.

Mickey…..

ry%3D400

Pluto……(I love her smile here)

ry%3D400

Who’s a happy blur?

ry%3D400

Minnie…..(and her pose)

ry%3D400

Donald…..

ry%3D400

It’s a little hard to see in that last pic, but she was trying out a new pose. She noticed that Minnie Mouse sometimes posed by holding her skirt and turning out a foot, so she needed to try that one out.

And last but not least, Goofy.

ry%3D400

Phew, I was beyond tired of those backgrounds. Lucky for us, she agree to go visit some countries at this point. This was our starting point….

ry%3D400

the hubby needed to get his napolean fix. We didn’t even get a chance to go in the Boulangerie since someone spotted a certain white kitty. So I stayed behind with the munchkin while my husband ran on into the delicious smelling bakery.

ry%3D400

An Eskimo kiss for Marie.

ry%3D400

And blowing a goodbye kiss.

ry%3D400

So when I said that France was our starting point at the World Showcase, I also meant that it was our ending point. Yup, we didn’t get very far. My husband was bummed about that since he enjoys walking around the countries, but we needed to get back in time to see Rapunzel. We only had one day at Disney (or so we thought……yup, that might be a hint) and I knew that she still has insanely long lines so we would have to get back in time to get in line before they cut it off for the day. We had promised our little girl that she could see Rapunzel. Touring the parks is definitely a different experience when you have a little one.

So back to MK we went. And smack dab into……

ry%3D400

the Move it, Shake It, Celebrate It parade (aka the bane of our existence on our May trip). My husband ran ahead to get in line for Rapunzel while I stayed behind to watch our little girl squish her way up to Jessie.

ry%3D400

Seriously, I need to work on the cutting in front of other people thing.

ry%3D400

She always feels like she needs to be right behind Jessie. We arrived towards the end of the parade, so the gang soon hopped back on the parade floats. Bye Woody!

ry%3D400

Once the streamers settled, we made our way over to meet up with my husband. I was hoping he wasn’t too far back in line. I didn’t want to waste all of our time waiting in line. I have to say that I just love the lanterns in the area!

ry%3D400

Up next – did we make it? Did we get to see Rapunzel?

I sure hope you saw Rapunzel after all that traveling around.

I love your daughter's outfit - its so cute. And I love that picture of her passed out in the stroller.

Woo Hoo for seeing Jesse! :cool1: I know that's one of her favs!!!!!

Fun update and it sounds like someone is going to get an extra day or two in Orlando! I know NE was getting its @$$ whooped on Sunday so I can't even imagine you getting home until Tuesday!

Oof- that thunderstorm doesn't sound fun. I love the monorail but I wouldn't enjoy being stuck on it... eek!

I always love her character pictures! The poses are so precious and she just looks so happy! :cutie:

We certainly did a lot of traveling around that day. We certainly weren't trying to hit up any major rides, that's for sure.

Aw thanks, she was dressed for comfort. She is always happy in a skirt and the tank was good for the super hot summer weather. I had to take a picture of her passed out in the stroller because she doesn't usually sleep in the stroller. She's always too concerned with what's going on around her.

Yes, Jessie is definitely still a fave but Rapunzel is sneaking up there.

It's too funny that you remember the details of Irene so clearly! You will just have to wait a smidgen longer to see what happens with our return flight....

We were getting used to the daily thunderstorms by this point, it just sucks that it happened on our Disney day too. I really felt bad for the people on the monorail. I mean, they could see the entrance and yet were just stuck on the track! Torture!

She is always so happy in Disney. So happy. And she has so many poses that she does. My little diva.

Love all the character pics. Your DD's little poses are so cute

Aw, thanks. She is such a ham with the poses. I mean, really? With the skirt and popping the heel? I might have a better picture of it later in the trip, not sure. But she definitely has a lot of poses.
