We're touring Disney like a 3 year old (2TRs in 1!)- UPDATE 5/18 pg. 46

That video was adorable and it really made me miss having a little one! Thanks for posting the video and have a wonderful time on your trip!:goodvibes

Thanks Dawn! This was the one moment that really made me want to write a TR and share it with all my Dis friends! Have a fabulous time on your trip as well if I don't get a chance to pop on before you leave.

Alright. Seriously. Cutest character visit EVER. Both Jessie and Woody were fantastic! Thank you for sharing!! :goodvibes

Aw, thanks so much! I thought it was pretty awesome myself. Then again, I et a lot of people have similar experiences with the princesses and all that, but this was a big one for our family. Jessie and Woody were soooo great. Thanks so much for reading!

Oh. My. Gosh. You got me crying over here! Happy tears though! That was absolutely the most adorable meet 'n greet ever! I just felt the love and excitement. I completely understand because this was the same feeling I got when Little Guy met Buzz. I think you remember that moment from my TR. I'll go back and find the pic of them posing the same just like your little one and Jessie. Thanks for sharing this moment!!! :cutie:

Here it is!!

akdisney130.jpg

Aw, Tink, you know I totally could not wait to share this with you! I totally knew you would understand how I felt. And I miss reading your TR with your Little Guy. Fantastic pic with Buzz. Now if only we could find a kid who was a big Woody fan and we could get all three kiddos together....:goodvibes That is what makes trips to Disney so worth it!

What an awesome meet n greet. The look on your daughter's face when she comes back is just priceless.:cool1:

Thanks! We thought so too. My best friend said that meet and greet made her little side trip to Disney worth it. She seriously was in heaven!

I totally missed you starting another trip report but joining in now!

Luvin the way big Annie put little Annie in her pocket! and your DD is super cute at all the character interactions she looks so happy :)

To cute about the Aladdin meet as well!

I loled at the inappropriate pose with Buzz in DTD

I love the woodie and jessie video as well so cute and she got to spend sooooooooooo long with them! :thumbsup2

No worries, it took me months before I even started my TR! Thanks for joining in, though!

Yes, that Annie moment is our second favorite part of our trip. She talked about big Annie putting little Annie in her pocket for days, and still does.

Ah, yes, the inappropriate poses. Guess that is what happens when you are a little one! At least they weren't on purpose!

Woody and Jessie did spend so much time with her! And the video is only the second half. My husband said that most of the people in line were okay with it, but he did see some annoyed parents as well. I did feel a bit guilty at the end with how long it was taking, but oh well. How do you tell your little girl to hurry up when she is meeting her idols?

I'm here! Late, but here now.

I guarantee that we probably crossed paths several times. We were at the MK for the MVP parade, we were just further down the street then you were.

We were also at the MK when you were there when your DD met Jessie again in her Jessie getup. She is just sooooo cute! :cloud9:

Hey, not as late as I was to your TR! I popped over on the last day I think!

We probably passed you sitting and waiting for the MVP parade since we had gotten her hair cut prior to the parade and saw tons of people camped out on Main Street in their Packers gear.

Thanks for stopping over!

Awwww... that is just such an adorable meet and greet. She definitely did not want to go. And I love the video! I think my favorite part was when your friend yells out "There's a snake in my boot!" and Woody just jumps back and goes a bit crazy, so funny. It was very cute seeing your daughter and Jessie pose together, adorable! Moments like this are what make Disney so special and unique.

I know right? I love that about Disney, how the cast members know how to stay in character and totally know how to make each moment special. I would never have thought of shouting that out! Thanks so much for popping over!

I'm behind a couple of updates but I just want to say that is the sweetest and most adorable meet 'n' greet I have ever seen! Moments like that show what a Disney trip is all about. Thanks for sharing! :goodvibes

Aw, no worries. It's been a busy summer and I have been behind on all my TRs too! I just got all caught up on some of them. Thank so much and I agree. Those are the moments that make the expense of Disney worth it. That is exactly why I am willing to go to Disney time and time again (other than my own love of it;))

OMG - that video was soooooooo precious. What a wonderful way to end my day. Your daughter just pulls on my heart strings. How precious!!!!!

Fabulous pictures and what a great day with your friends!

Aw, thanks so much! You should have seen how all of us adults were looking after that meet and greet - tears in our eyes and silly happy grins on our faces. And we loved that we had our best friends to share it with. Glad you liked it!

What a great story! i agree with a previous poster- moments like those are exactly why you take young children. I love Woody's poses behind Jessie too!

How cute that your DD wanted a picture with Pocahontas! The CM didn't really look like her at all though.

Love the elephant and Jessie poses!

Yay for finding the nerds Disney bag! Very park appropriate!

Awww, how cute that your DD was asking if Donald was going to be okay after PhilharMagic! I love that he's stuck in the wall but then he falls through. So cute!

I loved reading about the Jessie interaction again! Ahhh, melts my heart! The video is fantastic. I love how warm they can be even though they don't even talk.

Hi there!!! I just got caught up on your TR today. Sorry for missing so much but we traveled a lot in July and I went back to work in August and it has been crazy, as expected. We've been in school for 2 weeks, so I'm hoping it will start to settle down now. This is my first time on the Dis in 6 weeks!

I LOVE the Jesse meeting. It seriously brought me to tears, and I'm so glad that you posted the video because you can truly see how much the CM's inside those costumes loved her. :lovestruc That is the kind of character meeting that all mom's hope that their kids get to have. I'm so happy that you had that moment!

I've been meaning to ask you what Disney CD's you have for your cars? I want to get some for Dylan, but haven't looked into it at all.

I know I told you this after I read about it on your blog, but that has to be one of the cutest character meet & greets EVER! And I loved the video

I'm sure there were some people who were getting annoyed in line, but I sure wouldn't have been one of them, I enjoy watching other kids interact with the characters, especially when the interaction is as special as that one was!

I'd just tell the annoyed parents to bugger off. Everyone pays to get into the park so every little prince or princess (or big prince or princess) deserves as much time as they want with the characters I think :) Anyways you couldn't drag her away when she's having so much fun and being so cute at it :)

What a great story! i agree with a previous poster- moments like those are exactly why you take young children. I love Woody's poses behind Jessie too!

Exactly! I think that it's so much fun to see everything through the eyes of a toddler. It's just all so magical to them! Woody really did have some great "expressions" through the whole meet.

How cute that your DD wanted a picture with Pocahontas! The CM didn't really look like her at all though.

Love the elephant and Jessie poses!

Yes, that Pocahontas was not completely "believable" in my book. But that's okay, DD is still young enough that she didn't notice.

I knew you would appreciate the Disney nerds park bag that I invested in!

I love Philharmagic! It was so cute and seeing her grab at everything while watching the movie was funny.

That was such a great meet. You know how excited I was about it!

Hi Alison! I know, summer has just been so busy, I can't believe that it is already Labor Day weekend!

Wasn't it a great video? It totally made the whole trip for us. You were one of the other people that I was thinking about when it happened - I couldn't wait to share that moment with you and Tink, because I just knew you would understand what I was feeling. I was hoping for a cute photo or two with the costume, but I didn't expect that - so it was awesome!

In terms of a Disney cd. I keep meaning to get the 4 parks cd, but we have one of the 2-cd Disney's greatest hits or something like that. It has all the major songs from their biggest movies. So my husband has one cd in his car and I have the other. It also has some of the ride/attraction songs - Small World, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean. Always fun to listen to.

I know, it was a truly memorable experience. So great!

I agree with you - I always love watching other families getting a special moment. One year I totally teared up myself watching a little boy meet his idol - Woody. You can just feel the magic!:goodvibes

Yes, it definitely was hard to get her away from Woody and Jessie when she was so adored by them! She was just basking in the happiness. I just pretended to be oblivious to all the annoyed people in line.

Aw, thanks so much for reading and I am so glad that you are enjoying it! I know what you mean, I am subscribed to so many TRs that I can barely keep up! You are going to have such an awesome time with your little boy's first trip! I just love seeing all the wonder in their faces when they are in Disney. It really does make the trip worth it. :cloud9: My daughter has come back with some new poses from our most recent trip!:rotfl:

I just wanted to stop by and let you know how much we all enjoyed meeting you and your beautiful family :goodvibes It was so nice to finally meet you face to face! :)

Aw, thanks Dawn! We enjoyed meeting up with you guys too and it looked like you were having such a great time together. I agree, it was so nice to finally meet in person! And it was pretty fun texting back and forth while at Disney. Too bad our little gal was being shy so you couldn't see her in action. She was tired too - didn't make it to Wishes and barely held her eyes open for the castle show.

Thanks for meeting with us! :goodvibes

Sorry for the gap in updates, but we just got back from an extended stay in Florida. Yes, I managed to finagle a day or two at Disney, but it was supposed to be a Harry Potter centered trip with more family. Hurricane Irene decided to extend our stay in Florida for us by cancelling some flights, so we made the best of it by going to Disney an extra day. I mean, I guess there are worse things than being stuck in Florida on vacation, right?

Anyways, back to the TR....

So after our perfect little Woody and Jessie interaction,

ry%3D400

we were all wandering around the Magic Kingdom in a happy little bubble. In our minds, there wasn’t much that could top that little interaction. Like most of our park days, we had no concrete agenda or touring plan. Our friends just had a list of “must-do” attractions for their MK day, but otherwise, we just let our little girl point the way. Of course she did it all in her Jessie outfit for a while there. Since it was February, the weather was perfect for her to walk around in that costume. Not too hot, and not so cold that she needed a jacket.

We were getting a bit hungry by that point, so we stopped off to eat at Pecos Bill. I think I forgot to mention that while we were waiting in the super long line for Woody and Jessie, Auntie Nini and I had run over to grab FP for Splash Mountain. Uncle G and my husband weren’t feeling up to rides that day, so we used their park tickets to get FP for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. It worked out perfectly that the return times were within an hour window of each other, and by the time we had made it through the meet and greet, it was time for us to ride!

So while our little girl left with the boys to get lunch first, we hopped on the two nearby mountains for our rides. I was so happy because on our recent trips, I have rarely gotten the chance to ride BTMRR and Splash Mountian, especially with a friend. Since it was with my best friend, I was even happier! I don’t know how we never managed a Disney trip between the two of us before. Oh yeah, we were always poor college students back then.

We then met back up with the boys and our little girl back at Pecos Bill. They had finished with their lunches so we just grabbed our food and gobbled it down. We didn’t want to hold up the group too much.

We then peeked around Toontown a little bit. Auntie Nini and Uncle G wanted to see it one last time before it was closed off and gone for good. One last visit to Minnie and Mickey’s Country houses. One last look at the Barnstormer before it gets rethemed. One last look around at the general area.

ry%3D400

Looks like this little cowgirl can’t get in.

ry%3D400

Apparently we headed over to engage in a little Space Ranger Spin shortly after (it’s been so long that I totally can’t recall exactly).

ry%3D400

Auntie Nini’s face is totally indicative of the kind of people we turn into when we are at Disney (or at least us girls). Everything is just fun and happy, so who needs a plan? We just run around enjoying our time in the parks and going on all of our favorite rides.

Apparently we ran into this friendly little alien on our way out of Tomorrowland.

ry%3D400

For some reason, Stitch never seems to scare our little one. Maybe because all of his extra little arms and legs have been tucked in?

ry%3D400

I never really noticed before, but does Stitch rock a little goatee? Hunh.

ry%3D400

After we ran into Stitch, we took a little “break.” Auntie Nini needed to go on Carousel of Progress while we were in the neighborhood and the rest of us decided it would be a nice little rest period. Secretly, I was hoping that my little cowgirl would take a little nap during the show, but you know what they say about the best laid plans. Nope, the song proved to be too catchy for her and she totally enjoyed watching the little dog in each scene. The two men may have gotten the little nap instead.

Next we went on a favorite ride of mine, once again hoping to coax a little nap out of our little one. We hopped on the Peoplemover to enjoy our little tour of the park. I love to just sit back, out my feet up and just enjoy the ride. Once again, no nap, but it was a nice relaxing ride up in the skies.

So after our little rest, we saw that it was time for a favorite of our little girl. It was Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It time! Yup, readers of my last TR will recall how often we saw that parade in May. You don’t think that my little cowgirl had forgotten about it do you? Of course not! She wanted to stay in her Jessie costume, but I convinced her to change out of it before the parade started. It had warmed up a bit and I didn’t want her getting too hot.

On our way to the front of Cinderella’s castle, we stopped off for a few PP pictures. This is a classic family photo.

ry%3D400

I can’t even tell you how many photos like that we have. It is a classic snapshot of us. Then we composed ourselves a little bit.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

We even got in a nice magic shot!

ry%3D400

Auntie Nini and Uncle G got a few pictures themselves.

ry%3D400

It was perfect because we got a couple of really great photos. Since we had preordered the cd, I was determined to make use of it. I was also hosting my best friend’s bridal shower back home in a month so I was able to get so many cute pictures from our Disney trip that I was able to put up around the house. The “proposal” photos were definitely displayed on the walls for the shower!

I love that they are both wearing Disney shirts! So cute! I think the only one that wasn’t wearing a Disney shirt was my husband. I don’t think I would have managed to get one on him.

ry%3D400

Then we just HAD to get in a girls picture, especially since we were all wearing Minnie Mouse shirts. That was a fun coincidence!

ry%3D400

And Minnie popped in for a photo as well.

ry%3D400

After our little photo shoot, we continued on our way to grab some spots for the parade.

Cont.

We got there just in time. She is always waving to the characters as the parade rolls past.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

We have seen it so many times that we know just where Woody and Jessie’s float will stop for the street party portion.

ry%3D400

It wasn’t that crowded so our little girl had plenty of space to dance and jump around.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

She always manages to find a prime spot right next to Jessie when dancing.

ry%3D400

I think we must have seen the last Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It parade because it looks like the sun is starting to set at this point.

ry%3D400

We had a 7pm dinner reservation coming up soon so we decided to hang around Main Street for the next hour. Auntie Nini and Uncle G wandered around the stores, picking up a few souvenirs while we explored the street some more.

It was such a great day with our little girl!

ry%3D400

Mommy and daughter were happy campers that evening!

ry%3D400

We soon camped out in a little nook off Main Street to wait for our friends.

ry%3D400

Once everyone was back together, we hopped on the monorail for our dinner. We were headed to a favorite dining place of ours, located in the Poly. Can you guess? One hint….it’s the place where I took the photo of my husband in the intro post. It’s the place with a dessert that he literally dreams about.

Ohana!!

We were excited because our friends had never been before and we knew they would both like it. Plus, they weren’t on the dining plan and we wanted to make some of their meals worth the cost they were paying. You can’t get much better than an all-you-can-eat feast of meat, sticky wing, noodles, veggies, salad…..and the banana bread pudding. Really, I think that is the main reason we go – dessert.

I was also excited because we had scored a dinner reservation for 7pm, which meant that we should be able to watch Wishes from our table! And our little one was excited for all the fun activities they had to entertain her during dinner.

ry%3D400

Who doesn’t enjoy a good game of limbo?

ry%3D400

Especially when you can just walk under the stick.

ry%3D400

She’s happy with all the activities.

ry%3D400

The adults are happy because it keeps her occupied and gives us more time to stuff our faces. It was a yummy meal, as always, Just as they brought out dessert for our table, the lights dimmed, and the children’s activities stopped. The music from Wishes started to play over the speakers and it was just perfect! We sat there eating our scrumptious banana bread pudding while watching the fireworks go off. While it is not totally the same experience as being inside the park watching the fireworks show, it’s not bad, either. The dinner was a fabulous way to end a pretty fantastic day at the Magic Kingdom.

As we rolled ourselves out of Ohana, we did manage to stop for a picture or two. This is probably the closest any of us will get to surfing.

ry%3D400

Of course you know our little one doesn’t pass on an opportunity to pose herself.

ry%3D400

The happy couple (now newlyweds) as we slowly made our way out of the Polynesian.

ry%3D400

Up next: we meet up again for Epcot

You guys had a really great day! Your DD is so photogenic and she's so good at being ready for pictures.

What a wonderful day you had! The family pictures are adorable.

My family would agree that CoP is a perfect spot for a nap

'Ohana is the perfect way to end a MK day! It is my favorite Disney meal and watching Wishes while eating is perfect :goodvibes

Absolutely love this picture! :)

Looks like you guys did the parade at the perfect time. The sun going down made for some pretty pictures! Plus, it had to be nice not standing out in the sun!

Yum! Ohana! I could go for that right now! ALLLLLLLOOOOOOHHHHHAAAAA!

Looks like you guys had a wonderful day!!! :goodvibes Your little one seemed to be entirely energetic throughout the day, despite skipping that nap you had been hoping for!

I've never been to Ohana, but it always sounds great! I'm a fan of the rodizio-style meal, those are always fun!

Hiya

Just came across and read the entire TR! I am in my office oooh-ing and ahhh-ing to myself! :rotfl:

Your daughter is precious, and has a knack for finding all the characters...may we borrow her in a few weeks? :rolleyes1

Your TR is great - thanks for sharing! I cant wait for more! :thumbsup2
