We're Staying OFFSITE! An October '14 PTR!

I never thought about the FP like that before but I'd say keep the BTMRR one bc the line still seems to go slower even though the ride is faster. I think it's the loading/unloading that takes time at BTMRR, where at Splash it's a constant flow of logs. Lol :-)

Plans look good! You should def do AK! So much fun stuff! And now dole whips with rum! ;)

Your plans look good.

Yay 1900 PF please eat a carrot cake for me. Yum.

I would leave FP as they are for the reason the pp said and because at night Splash line is normally shorter.

Decided to play catch up with your report this afternoon. :)

Your plans are all sooo great! Love the two sleep in days right in the middle. I bet you will really appreciate those.

I am wondering how the waits for the 7DMT are during MNSSHP. I would watch that and if it looks like they are low maybe dump your early FP+ on that day? If not I would suggest a Starbucks and people watching on Main Street or maybe from the train platform? Should be fun to watch people as MNSSHP guests start to arrive. Or maybe people watch from a monorail hotel lobby. I somehow always end up doing this at the Contemporary. Plus I also strangely love the Contemporary's gift shop.

I vote for MM. You are going to be there for a long time...all those ride photos AND the MNSSHP pictures (magic shots!). As you know I was on the fence about getting it for our trip but I don't regret it at all. We got many shots that I would NOT have gotten with my camera. Pictures are priceless!!

Hope you move is going well....

Hmm for FP+ I considered A/C and queue entertainment. Because BTMRR is all "outdoor" and on the off chance we get some hot humid days want to spend less time in line amongst the mass of humanity.

HM we'll do stand by as it has the interactive queue now which we haven't had a chance to do and then you get to go in side for a bit of the line.

Splash we got a FP+ only because its my favorite ride and if standby is low enough we can ride it twice or I can try and change the FP+ if its a low wait before hand.

Its so hard to choose though!!! Im trying not to second guess them and drive myself nuts! :rolleyes1

I also vote for AK! I love it, its just so pretty and just a different atmosphere!:cloud9:

Well, I'm no help with the FP switches because I'm indecisive myself. However, we did have a lot of fun at 1900 so I'm excited about that for you both!

AK wasn't a fave for us either, but we seem to like it the more we go. I think everything sounds good!

Egh, ok, glad to know that 1900 has at least one person pulling for it. I keep reading reviews and everyone complains about the food. I'm not going for the food!

You have a point, but man that Splash line is SOOOOO long feeling!

We are leaning towards AK, but HS should be super low crowds that morning. We will probably decide on the fly.

I read on easywdw.com that the waits for 7DMT weren't bad during MNSSHP. I will keep watching, maybe we will skip it.

I am so torn on MM! I see so many reasons to get it, but it's so expensive too!

You have a point about BTMRR. And you're right, the HM line would be more interactive....

I love Splash too! I just don't know what to do.

Thanks RooRach0906 for the bleach t-shirts link! We decided last minute to do those today as well!

A few little updates today.

I went shopping yesterday, and knowing that our tie-dye would be green, blue, and light blue I bought us some glow necklaces and bracelets that should match. We'll wear these on MNSSHP night! :)

We went shopping today to get me a white t-shirt that fit. Then, we came home and got to tie-dying! Mom went for the Mickey in the middle of the shirt, while I did a smaller Mickey up to the left of a v-neck.

First, the mickey heads in pencil:

Then, the basting.

Next, the twisting:

And then the dye-ing!

We will let these sit overnight and wash them out in the morning to see how we did. I'm nervous but hopeful that they both turn out alright. I like a lot of white in my tie-dye so I hope I didn't put in too much dye.

Next, the bleach shirts.

We just protected them with cardboard and cut some Mickey heads out of an empty Coca-Cola 24 pack.

Here you can see the top Mickey head has been removed to show how it looks, and the other three are still on the shirt.

And here are both of our shirts - Mom's is the red one and I am the blue one.

Whew! Now we just have to wait on the tie dye!!!

Tomorrow after we wash out the shirts we're heading to Six Flags for the day. Haven't been in many, many years so I hope it's not too busy - I'm sure it will be as it's a bring-a-friend-free day for season passholders and it's supposed to be VERY nice weather. Wish me luck as I've only been to Disney the last few years! ;)

We love 1900 PF dinner with the Tremaines! They always provide a fun character experience. When Prince Charming comes around we can barely pay attention to him and are constantly looking over his shoulder to see if Anastasia or Drizella is not far behind. :rotfl:

Awesome job on the t-shirts!

I love the idea of the tie dye shirts but feel overwhelmed by the directions! (I'm very hard on myself when I do something wrong). Looking forward to see how yours turn out though! And those bleach shirts look very neat! What a cool idea!

Have fun tomorrow and good luck! lol, it will probably just want to make you get to Disney faster! (If thats possible!)

Welcome, Happy to help! :)

Wow, I have always wanted to do the Mickey Tie Dye shirts but I am so scared I would mess them up. Hope they turn out great!

Your bleach shirts turned out beautifully!!! YAY!!!! :thumbsup2

Have fun at Six Flags!

Nice work on the shirts!

Thanks!! We just had a "project day" today. It was fun to be doing things when I've spent so much time alone in the past.

Oh yay, I'm very excited about 1900 PF. We have been trying to figure out what to wear - I wanted something with the Tremaines on it but it's so hard to find!

Thanks for the kudos on the shirts. It was a fun project regardless!

The tie dye shirts just need to be broken down into bite-sized steps. It's really as easy as the above. Trace a Mickey head, sew the Mickey head, pull together the Mickey head, rubber band, and dye!

I'm so sure that Six Flags will make me ready for Disney! It usually does. I spent many years working at this one, so it does have a special place in my heart.

Oh just go for it. If you mess it up then at least you had fun, right? ;) That's what I'm telling myself, just in case they come out crappy.

Thanks; I really like the shirts! (especially mine!)

We probably won't go too crazy at Six Flags or anything; we are just going to visit for a few hours then come home and cook. But I do hope to get a few favorite rides in!

Hey all!

Just wanted to finish up my post from yesterday!

Here's rinsing out my mom's tie-dye shirt:

Look at all that beautiful white!

And here's rinsing out mine:

Not so much white.

And here are the finished projects:

My Mickey needs to be fixed with a bleach pen, but that's ok. It's so small I didn't think it would come out right. Mom's came out great! I think we are going to wear these to the MNSSHP along with our glow in the dark necklaces and tie-dye shoes (I'll show you those later).

So now I have 9 outfits for 11 days so far.

So here's my shirt. Nothing drastic; I was afraid to go too crazy with the bleach pen because I didn't want to screw up my shirt since I like it.

And then I figured I'd throw this in! Here are the subjects of this PTR!

We were standing and watching the Superman ride and I wanted to get a pic of us together; turned out cute if you ask me (though you didn't!).

Also, I got the email that yet another magic band has shipped for me; my blue one for my Pop stay! I thought they went out about a month ahead of time but I guess I'm ahead of the curve!

More plans coming up; possibly later tonight after supper!

Okay, I've been gone a few days so I have a bit to catch up on.

I'm with you on AK ... it's definitely not our favorite park, but there are things we like to do there.

In terms of the FP+ situation, I'm a huge BTMRR fan, but I think that since you already have the FP+ for it earlier in the trip, go for Splash. That way if the lines for Splash Mountain are always long, you make sure to do it at least once.

I LOVE that you bought glow necklaces and bracelets to match your shirts. All of the shirts look great - I think the bleach pen outline of Mickey's head on your shirt is really cool.

I hope you enjoyed Six Flags! I haven't been to Six Flags in about 10 years ... but from what I remember, it's definitely a different experience than Disney.

Same here - things we like to do at AK, but it's just not more than a "couple of hours" park for us yet. EE, Dinosaur, ITTBAB. Those are our must-do's.

We WILL get to do Splash on the tour, so we know we can do it once. I guess I could always change the FP+ when we get there... I just want to FP+ the longest lines (hence PP early in the trip). I feel like Splash can be SUCH a long line ... but so can BTMRR.

I'm excited about the glow stuff. I'm still a six year old at heart.

Six Flags was ok; crowds really showed up so we scooted out of there early. I did eat some theme park food - not kidding, it was room temperature when we got it. I couldn't eat it, so I sent it back... and then the chicken was hot, but the fries remained room temperature. So weird! Aren't they deep fried!?

Planning stuff is mostly slowing to a crawl as I just am buying little things for the trip like sunscreen and mouthwash. Isn't that exciting??

First, here are the tie dye shoes mom will be wearing on MNSSHP night. I bought the same pair, but they are NOT comfortable to me at all, so I'm returning them. :( We had hoped to be dressed pretty similar just to be cutesy, so I'm sorry the shoes don't work for me! Oh well, I'll wear some grey shoes, it'll work.

I took some time today to drag out all of my packing stuff. I love packing cubes and such, so these are all accounted for and ready to go! I should be able to get all shirt and dresses in the folder, and just pack my shorts/pants separately.

Here is my collection of MBs. The green was my very first one in November of last year; the pink was my May MB, and the red and blue are my passholder and my upcoming onsite trip MBs, respectively. And of course, my little passholder slider; I most likely won't wear that, because I don't want to make the MB uncomfortable and I'm not sure how that little thing would feel rubbing on my arm. I'm ok with the MB, I know that much.

Now on to day 8!

This is the first sad day - Mom is leaving! Her flight doesn't head back to the Midwest until 5:25, so she won't be leaving until about 2:30 - 3 to go to the airport. This is also the day I check into Pop Century, so we'll pack up at SVR and go try to get into Pop. Still trying to decide on what I want for my requests at Pop! I know I want to be in the 50s section, so I'll be requesting that if possible. Otherwise I usually just roll the dice!

Mom and I don't have plans in the morning. We might go to HS together for one last hurrah on ToT, or we might hang out at the Pop pool if my room is ready. No telling what we'll do in the morning.

In the afternoon I have three FP+ at HS, and am still trying to decide on the Epcot After Hours Wind Down that night. La Cava is still open for that night as well as Rose and Crown; just have to decide if I want to relax and have a drink after the park has closed. It will be after a LOOONG week, so I might just want to head back to Pop and have a good long sleep. However, there will be plenty of time for sleeping when I return home!!

My first FP+ at HS is an old favorite, Muppet Vision! Next I have TSMM, and then the last FP is ToT. Should be a relaxing night! If I don't do the wind down, I will probably come back to Pop and have a poolside drink, then maybe a nighttime swim. Hopefully the weather isn't too bad!

After this, I still have days 9, 10, and half of day 11 to go. Wow, this trip seems to be getting longer and longer!

Things still to decide or do:

1) HM DDB bag - wish it would just come out already! I keep dreaming about it! I want to know if they'll be available so that I know how much money is budgeted for purses vs. the trip. I will absolutely buy online if they show up there, and then buy my sketch purse at the park.
2) Decide on Memory Maker or not. Still leaning towards it, but that's a lot of souvenir money! I dreamt last night that we decided we wanted it, but then realized we were already on the third day of our trip and would have to pay $200 for it!
3) Buy a couple more shirts; I have exactly 11 outfits for 11 days - I need at least two or three more to be sure I'm covered if I ruin something or decide to change mid day.
4) Tonight I'm starting cardio kickboxing; I need to lose about 7 lbs right now (at least then I could fit in additional clothing that I could take with me to WDW!).
5) Go get my Pandora bracelet (b-day gift) so that I can get a Chamilia charm when we go down; Pandora will be sponsoring Wishes starting this November, so there will soon be Pandora Disney charms as well! This will be done next weekend.

I liked what you did with your shirt and the Mickey head! Its cute!

Hmmm, I vote on saving the $$$ on the Epcot After Hours and put it towards the Dooney. Plus it will be nice to just relax at the Pop pool and then your bed will be rightthere when your ready. Although my vote doesn't count! lol and either way I'm sure you will enjoy yourself!
