We're sitting at the back of the plane -

I'm not sure how how much of an impact the length of time spent in immigration has on the amount of time that you spend in the airport. DH and DDs are US citizens so for years I used to go through the separate line. A few years ago one of the immigration guys told me that I could just go through the with the rest of the family, so that's what I now do. I can't really say that I've seen an awful lot of difference in the length of time that it's taken us to get out of the airport! :confused3

This is true. We have always spent longer clearing immigration in the UK than in the US. One good thing about the staff at immigration, they are always very polite and friendly. You gotta love them for that. :thumbsup2

We found immigration two years ago a lot faster than last year. We seemed to wait ages for our cases from the main terminal and then the wait almost an hour for the ME. The bus was sitting there when we arrived but it still took an hour for us to get on it. Think it might have had something to do with the F & W marathon and the roads being closed for that.
We had no one directing us at immigration and there were people skipping ques all over the place it was a mess.
Think it would help if people had all their passports ready in hand before getting to the desk rather than spening ages going through each bag to find them. Sorry rant over :headache:

Its hit or miss to be honest just go with the flow after all you are going to be in Disney :cool1:

My experience has been that the Whole process of getting out of the airport will be longer than an hour, Immigration seemed much quicker on our last trip, the way we lined up was different from the previous year and it seemed much quicker. I have had longer waits at the car rental queue.

We're often the first off the plane when we fly in PE because the current configuration on the Virgin LGW-MCO routes means that they let you off before UC pax. The only people ahead of you if you're first down the stairs are the people sitting in economy right next to the door. We've also been right at the back in the rows of two and it has made a huge difference to the time it's taken us to get through the airport. (Our best ever time from touching down to driving away was 35 minutes; our worst about 2 1/2 hours). It isn't just about the lines at immigration, though. It takes forever to get off the plane and everything then has a knock-on effect. Of course, I'm comparing the extremes, not anything in between. The times we've been at the back, we've just accepted that it's going to take longer and have adopted a mañana attitude.
