We're renting points---what about pool hopping and housekeeping?

We rented points from an owner for an 8 night stay at SSR. I read somewhere that owners can pool hop to other DVC resorts and pools? Is this true? Also, we are strongly considering paying extra for daily housekeeping since we really love coming back to a clean, straigtened up rooom. Are we nuts for doing this. How does the cost difffer from T & T service or other housekeeping plans?

Hello!!

DVC owners are permitted to pool hop, but we have to show our blue DVC membership card. Unfortunately, renters are not permitted to pool hop, as that's a perk reserved for members. With regard to housekeeping, we have always found that T&T is enough, but then again, we are the type of people who put the "Do not disturb" sign on our door at regular hotels as we don't like daily housekeeping. If you prefer daily housekeeping, then by all means splurge for the daily service!

Enjoy your trip!!

Renters are not officially eligible for member perks like pool hopping. Realistically, you may get many member perks, including pool hopping, but just showing your room key which will say "Memeber" on it. Pool hopping is not allowed at Storm-along Bay (YC&BC) or at Animal Kingdom Lodge and be aware that pool hopping is suspended during very busy times like Easter/Christmas/New Years and some dates in the summer. Have the DVC member check for any restrictions when you are closer to your dates.

I believe that Housekeeping is an extra $25 per day for a studio and more for larger units. We don't miss housekeeping when we stay at DVC villas. Fresh towels are another matter but I don't have fresh ones at home every day and it's not worth it for me to pay extra :).

True for owners...subject to availability. Even we can be denied if the pools are busy. Pool hopping is an DVC owner perk and is NOT available to renters.

I'm not positive, but I believe the cost for full housekeeping for a studio is $25, and it goes up from there depending on the size of the unit.

Charges for extra Housekeeping services recently went up.
