Well, today we go home. It is so hard to leave. Despite the car wrecks, this has been a magical vacation. We feel rested and refreshed. Not normal for a trip to WDW. We got up when we felt like it, napped, swam and relaxed. That's the joy of DVC!
On with today. We got up, showered, packed up and took our bags to bell services. Then we walked to MGM. First off, ToT (3x). I was hoping RnR would open early. It did, but not today. It was due to re-open on Tuesday, but the show scheduled said it re-opened on Monday. Too bad. From here we rode the Great Movie Ride. Then over to Starring Rolls to get Stephen a bagel. He was, all of the sudden, hungry, and my jerky and cheese sticks just didn't sound good. I just drank my water. I wanted to do WWTBAM, but the next show wasn't for 1/2 hour or so, so we walked through One Man's Dream. We skipped the movie. Not that I don't like it, but we didn't want to miss WWTBAM. Stephen got #1 at the end of the show. Too bad there wasn't more time. That was all I wanted to accomplish here, so we walked over to Epcot and grabbed lunch in Japan. I love Yakatori House. And then dessert, can you guess??? Yup! Kaki Gori, cherry. I could only eat 1/2 of mine, but Stephen helped me out and finished it. What a gentleman.
After lunch we did M:S one last time. I was a little annoyed this time. They have a single line, a fast pass line and the regular line. We decided to do the regular line, posted as a 20 minute wait, but it was a walk on. A family of three was in the fastpass/singles line. Since they had no fastpass, they were put in three different groups as singles. After the "briefing" they all rushed forward and got in our group. Next to us was a dad and three kids, the mom was in our group, and one of the single riders was also in our group. With the two extras, when we got to our respective spots, Stephen and the mom had no where to stand. Come to find out, they did not speak English, and had no idea they were in the single riders line. It was rather confusing, but the mom and Stephen walked around and filled in the two empty spots left by the people who joined our group. So, I had to ride with 3 other people who I didn't know. It was still fun, but not like if Stephen were in the capsule with me. They didn't push the buttons, but the "computer" overrode, so all was well. The CMs seemed to not be in control at all during this whole time. They weren't aware of the confusion and the CM at the front was not making sure singles were heading in the single rider line. I really think this needs to be looked into.
After this, we shopped a little in the stores as you enter World Showcase, and then watched the Chinese acrobats one last time. We slowly wandered around the lagoon, watch Voices of Liberty and headed back to the Beach Club to catch our shuttle, but no before picking up one more Kaki Gori.
We were picked up at 4:15 and at the airport before 5:00.
The plane ride home was easy with a change in Dallas. Landed by 10:30 Mountain Time (12:30 a.m. Eastern). Home and in bed by midnight (2:00 a.m.) We both had to be at work in the morning, so we drug a bit the next week.
All in all a great vacation. I hated to leave even though I've been there three times in one year. I knew I wouldn't be back until May 2005 for my 25th anniversary. My daughter is getting married next June or July and will be using my DVC points.
Good news though. After I returned home a friend of mine called and said her husband has a 5 day business meeting in Orlando in March. They have a baby that will be almost 2 and a newborn about 3 months in March, and want to know if I'd like to go to help with the kids and show them some of WDW while the husband is in meetings. They'll pay my way, all I have to do is be willing to help out. I said yes, of course. I know it will be way different than what I'm used to, and we'll probably only make it to Magic Kingdom, but I love their daughter and love spending time with them. So, I get to go back in March! It may be one of the busiest times to go, but I'd rather be at WDW with crowds than in Colorado with snow!
Thanks so much for taking the time to read my reports. I hope I didn't bore you.
