We're on DDP but Mom is not??

My sister and I are going to WDW in Sept for free dining. We are sharing a room with our 3 children at the Poly. My mom is getting her own room so the free dining did not make sense for her so she used the current discount code. She is not going to pay for the DDP because she eats very little no more than an appetizer for her whole meal and often cannot eat most food in restaurants (will end up eating yoghurt or bland foods). Since we will be eating all of our meals together I am wondering how this will be handled. I know it will not be a problem at the buffets but what about the regular meals? Will they give us a problem since she is not on the plan and we are? Is it a problem if she orders her own food but ends up nibbling on ours. We are not trying to take advantage of the system, we are just not sure how to handle this.
TIA!

We do this all of the time and it should not be a problem at all. Just tell your server who is on the DDP and who is not. Mom will get a separate bill at the end of your meal. Of course, you can also share your appetizers and deserts with her--that's what we do and it's never been a problem. We often dine with friends when visiting WDW and we are often a mixed group of discounts, with some of us on the DDP, some of us doing the DDE and some of us CM discounts. Just let your server know up front what's going on.
Enjoy!

This is precisely how these arrangements should be handled.

We have exactly the same thing happening when we go in December - so thanks for asking! I needed this info too!

Ok, this sounds similar to the scenario I might have to deal with. My brother and his family (DW, DS10) might travel with us. We are a family of 5 (DH, me, DD10, DS5 and DD4). We would get 2 mod. rooms, because all eight of us can fit in 2 rooms. However, it might be very likely that all my kids will end up in our room and not one sleeping with my brother's family. Anyway, we would like the DDP and they don't. How would I work that, one of my kids wouldn't be eligible, would they? So I guess POR would be the only option if they decide not to get DDP. Please help me clarify this.

Everybody who is in your room ON THE RESERVATION would be on the DDP. Those listed on your DBro's ressie would not be. So, even if you end up with 5 sleeping in your room and only 3 in your DBro's, someone in your family would end up not being on the DDP.

POR has some rooms that will accommodate 5 people. Or you can book an AllStar Suite, which sleeps 6. The AllStar suite has the added benefits of a second bathroom and a small kitchenette.

Thanks Lisa,
I think POR will be our best bet. It would be difficult to have one family memeber not on the plan. Sorry, you don't get to eat :confused3
