We're off to see the wizard.....actually it's off to walk in Walt's footsteps

Club 33 both lists? :confused3

Guess I'll have to make a Bee Line to Nemo when the gates open, have you ridden the one at EPCOT? If so how does it compare.

Rude CM's? Guess I'll have to pack some Pixie Dust and a note pad to take notes.

Working my tail off down here in Orlando to make sure I dont have to live off of Churro's while I'm in Walt's park.
Yep, Club 33 made both lists. I was highly disappointed with the food this trip. The cast their was wonderful, the experience was wonderful, but the food lackluster at best. They do make a really good dirty martini I will say.

The Nemo comparison, there is none. DL kicks WDW butt on this one. The line is long, still average of 2 hours. Either go first thing in the morning, or near park closing. The rumor is if you are in line before the park closes you will get on. I did the handicap entrance due to the wheelcahir and since I was able to transfer, I did the actual ride. I heard the room for the disabled/sight imparied is really good too.

Yes, rude CM's. It really suprised me. My Mom is a WDW Casual CM. She was shocked by some of what she saw, and what CM's are allowed to get away with. We were getting ready to watch the parade one evening (5+ minutes before the parade got to our location), and a CM actually grabbed a guest and told them they couldn't cross the street. The poor kid was holding melting icecream and trying to get to his Dad on the other side. I couldn't believe how rough this CM was with a guest. He actually grabbed his arm and swung him around. My Mom was fuming at what she saw.

Does DL sell other snacks besides Churros?? I couldn't believe how many stands there were. I would not recommend the Plaza Inn. Eww nasty food. If your a coffee drinker, get the never ending cup at the Bakery on Main Street.

Welcome back - would love to see pics and hear more about Club 33!!!

Working on organizing the photos of Club 33 today. I will also do a more detailed CLub 33 report.

I visited DL last year and what surprised me was how congested it got. I went during a relatively slow month (October) but it was still jam packed. I was also somewhat dismayed by the "day" park feel of the place as opposed to the "resort" feel of WDW. Still, rides like POTC and PP are far superior in DL, plus it's sweet to visit the place where Walt wallked.

We took the red eye home last night/this morning. I'm exhasted, I have slept about 2 hours in the last 40 hours.

The highlights of the trip:
Padalyn! She without hesitation pushed me around in a wheelchair most of the trip. She even arranged a wheelchair that fit me. (I am not supersized, but not a size 10 either). The right size chair made all the difference.
Nemo, Nemo, Nemo. I don't want to say too much, but it was a lot more then I had expected. DL really did a great job on this.
Riding the Lilly Belle. What a treat.
Walking in Walts Footsteps Tour.
The Grand Californian - and the conceirge ammenities.
Club 33
Cafe Orleans (apps and main courses) Yum Yum Yum. We ate here twice, once for lunch once for dinner. YUM!! We also had a salad at the French Market.

The lowlights.
We had to leave
How people treat those in wheelchairs. What a humbling experience.
The overall rudeness of DL CM's. I couldn't believe the difference between WDW and DL on this one.
Club 33 (yes it made both lists)
Lack of protein options in the conceirge lounge for the breakfast hours. I found peanut butter one day, but a slice of cheese would have been great. (For those that do not know, I am hypoglycemic and have to follow a low carb high protein intake)
Cafe Orleans (desserts) Both the beignets and the chocolate crepe I could have walked away from both.

I'm sure there is more to go on both lists. I have photos to go through.

Padalyn checking in here....

I think that Tiggr33 may just have sprained her foot really badly during the excursion in Villefranche. However, since she was unable to do more than hobble (yep...it wasn't pretty!) out of self preservation I did the wheelchair thing. I really wanted all of us to have a good time, and having someone in pain just doesn't add to the overall experience.

I will say - Tiggr33 was a trooper - I even dragged her on Spash Mountain (she hates those drop things).

Nemo was amazing, I have heard that the line can be short, but as Tiggr said, either very early (due to heat more than line length) or during the evening parade into the fireworks.

we got a great spot for viewing the fireworks, right at the castle side of the hub. A little close for pictures, but the hub was closed for a special event.

I have to agree about Club 33. I was disappointed with the food. I turned back most of my Halibut (I love Alaskian wild Halibut - I found it tasteless and boring the way they prepped it).

Cafe Orleans had really good food (yum, yum, yum she said above!) I liked the chocolate crepe dessert. I had the seafood crepes one time and the monte cristo the second. I liked both a lot.

the CM are amazingly rude. We had words with the "lead" at the Cafe Orleans and came really close to writing him up. He was nasty, arrogant, and generally a snot. The other event - well - that CM needs to take some "nice" lessons. He was really obnoxious to the people who were trying to cross.

Tiggr gave me an engraved mug for being her "pusher" for the trip - it will be used every day as a special mug should be!

enough babble...I also will post some Club 33 pics in a few days...have to get them organized.

We did the Walking in Walt's Footsteps tour before my foot gave out. That was neat...We we're lucky enough that the Lilly Belle was on the railroad that day and we got to ride in her. WOW!! .

I agree! I was on the WIWF tour last week, and we did the Lilly Belle also. I'd put pics up of that, it was a huge treat. I liked the lobby of Club 33 too. :)
