July 8, 2006 Day 2
Back when the kids were little we would go to WDW in the winter. The parks close earlier in the winter and the only extra magic hours were the early park openings. No nighttime hours. So we would always keep the kids on their regular sleep schedule. It was always early to bed early to rise. Well, the parks are open so late in the summer and the kids are older and love to stay up late in the parks. Remember on Day 1 we were up at 4:30 am (well I was up at 3:30 am, but I had to DIS befor eleaving) and stayed at MK until midnight. Im sure it was at least 1:00 am before we got to bed.
Well what a different schedule these days! The kids slept until 11:00 on Day 2!!!! This was crazy for me.

In the old days we would have been on our way to lunch and then back to the resort for a pool break by 11:00 a.m. As always I was up early, so I took a shower, brewed some of TaraLee4s delicious coffee and had a cup of Joe out on the balcony. This is a really cool benefit of the deluxe resorts
private balconies. Our room was above the garden suites (or cottages
whatever... some incredible rooms we cant afford) but that means that our balcony had the added bonus of being very private and overlooking the rose gardens that are like mini backyards for the suites. I have to tell you I think I was the only person in that entire section of BWI that used the balcony our entire vacation

. While I did see a few people walking along the pathways behind the hotel from time to time, I did not see one other person on a balcony all week. It was very hot and humid all vaca, even early in the a.m., but that balcony was so peaceful. A great place to relax with a cup of coffee and a good book (the Passporter)!
Anyway when my family finally dragged their sorry carcasses out of bed, and took showers etc., we went to the Boardwalk Bakery for some pastries and refillable mugs! That bakery rocks! Yummy, Yummy, Yummy!!!! My favorite is the chocolate croissant
which I had almost everyday for breakfast!
Next it was time for the pool. You must realize that Winnie would be perfectly happy to spend our entire Disney vacation at the pool!!!

After hearing her ask to go to the pool over and over again yesterday
.only to be foiled by the rain, it was decided that we could go to the pool before going to any parks on this particular day. LizzY didnt especially care for this
She would be happy if the pool had never been invented
but we told her after the pool we could go to her favorite park MGM. She still wasnt happy, but hey Im the Mom!!!!

(Hi LizzY)
The pool at Boardwalk is fun, although some get freaked out by the big clown head that vomits children coming off of the slide! No problem for us. Were not really fond of snakes and hairy spiders

, but a little pool vomit never hurt anyone, and besides there is a pool bar that makes yummy Pina Coladas!!! Ah to sit by the pool and do the

Oh yes , there is also a particularly nice lifeguard staff at this pool. They are really great with the kids. So we spent a couple of hours at the pool. Went over to Spoodles Pizza window, grabbed some Pizza and brought it to the pool for lunch.
Then off to change out of the wet bathing suits and stroll on over to MGM. The really cool thing about the boardwalk is that you can walk or take a boat to MGM and EPCOT, it is so convenient.
