I am so excited. We have decided to move to AZ!! We currently live around STL and we are making the big move the end of June. I can't wait. We will be about 5 hours from DL and I will (hopefully) be able to go to DL more than once per year. Well after we get settled, buy a house, and all that stuff.

  :cool1: :cool1: :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :cool1: :cool1:

Thank goodness we already decided and budgeted to buy AP's for our trip in 19 days!!

:cool1: Where in AZ are you moving too??? The drive is definitely manageable - the only thing to deal with is people asking didnt' you just go - why are you going back??? :lmao:

In Tempe. We are getting an apt first. We figured it would give us more time to figure out where we want buy a house since that can be so stressful, I couldn't imagine trying to do it with a time limit of a month:headache: :scared1:

I can absolutely live with that question. We get that a little now, but I would be glad to answer that question more frequently! :rotfl:

Yes, a couple of times. I love it. DH is from So Cal, so he is glad to be closer to there also (not to mention he is glad to be closer to DL and Angel Stadium:cloud9: ).

Wow how exciting! Nice warm weather, an exciting new change and closer to Disneyland! Sounds like a winner to me. Good luck with the move!

Nice "WARM" weather??? We live in Tucson, and 'toasty' would a closer description,(a dry-heat thought, except during monsoon season)
But A&D are right,it's a heck of alot closer.

(btw,if you're lucky, the housing is a 'buyers market. it is in Tucson.)

Oh wow - congrats! Definitely easier weather on the body and no snow shoveling for you! We just moved from No. Cal to Colorado again (right before blizzards.) Hope you really enjoy and can spend the time doing what you want!

Welcome to Arizona!! I go about every 2 months or so. The great thing about winter time when the rest of the country changes time to fall back we dont. So we are an hour ahead of Disneyland. So when i leave work on Friday at 3Pm im at disneyland at about 8PM with the time chagne a the border. In the summer time we are the same time so its about 6 hours drive time. (Actually its always 6 hours drie time lol but when I measure time I leave and time when Im in the park the hour makes its much nicer. :-) )

Welcome to Arizona! It's a 5/12 hour drive from my driveway to the Disneyland hotel! (I'm in north Phoenix and close to the highway.) I had an AP for a couple of years and think I made 13 trips in two years! Of course, that was before gas was $3+ per gallon. ;)

I haven't been there in a year, but am heading out on the 19th for a DIS meet!

oh.....bring your sun screen :sunny:

Welcome. We moved here 2 years ago. We did make it back from DL once in under 5 hours, so it can be done if the Road Gods are with you.

Welcome to the hottest place on earth! I'm in NE Phoenix and we're reaching 100 degrees this week. You'll get here just in time for the REAL heat!

I guess the one consolation of living in such a hellish climate is being 6 hours away from DLR! :goodvibes

Thanks everybody for the welcome.:flower3: I like it hot, DH not so much. But it is hot and miserable here in the summer time too, :confused3 so why not be hot and miserable some place we love (and is closer to DL;) ). One summer night last year, it was still 95 degrees at 10p here :scared: ... it was awful. People at work warned me that this was the hottest time of the year, so we're ready. We do have a trip to make to DL already planned ... we leave in 18 days I can't wait!!

I live in the STL area. I would love to be closer to WDW or DL, but all of our family is here in STL... GO CARDINALS!!!

GO ANGELS!! You know they will be playing each other in June. DH is going to all 3 games of course.

All of our family is here too, so I'll miss them. I guess I will have to console myself with another trip to DL!! :rotfl:

I live in "toasty" Gilbert, AZ as well. I moved here from Southern Ca (Disneyland used to be about a half hour drive) now it just about 6, so that is still manageable. We go there at least every March & October and while we are AP holders (which we are again this year) we go even more. This year we have been there twice and are planning the next big trip for October but may make the drive again for a quick trip.

Welcome to AZ!

I live in Tucson too, and hotter than hades comes to mind. :lmao: We're already dealing with triple digits, and Phx is worse. But the evenings and mornings are so beautiful. I moved to AZ in July 10 years ago from Indiana so I know how you'll be feeling. But you'll get acclimated quickly, I'm sure. :) Anyway, congrats on your move!
