Travelers - DH (53) and I (53).
I can't believe it, but we're leaving tomorrow for our first ever trip to WDW. We live in Southern California and go frequently to Disneyland making good use of our AP's. I have wanted to go to WDW ever since I first heard of it being built in Florida, but as they say, life got in the way. I asked DH in October if he would like to go to WDW over Christmas (when his plant is closed for vacation) and to my surprise he said, "sure". Well that was all I needed to hear and I immediately hit the computer and got on the phone to make plans. Thanks to all of the information I got from these boards and other internet information sites:
We are flying on Song from LAX to Tampa for what I consider to be a good rate - $500.00 roundtrip including taxes for the two of us. I never even heard of Song until I started reading these boards - THANKS.
We are staying at the Dolphin for four days at the PARKS rate of 99.00/night and for two days at the nurses rate of $139.00/night. Even adding on the $10.00 daily resort fee, I consider this to be a great rate for a nice hotel in a great location. I learned about both of these rates on these boards - THANKS.
We are renting a full-sized car at the Tampa airport and used a code from Mousesavers.com. Based on my search of car rental sites, a savings of about two hundred dollars.
We have our park hoppers (I'm Mickey and DH is Goofy) in our Passporter book ready to go.
We have PS at the Coral Reef for the CP package on Christmas Eve. On Christmas Day we have PS for tea at the GF and dinner at the California Grill. To say we are excited is a real understatement. Other places we plan to eat: Le Cellier, Brown Derby, CRT (lunch), San Angel Inn, Rainforest Cafe at AK.
I am just so grateful that I am able to make this trip with my wonderful husband of 32 years. We have been many places over the years and I think this trip will be one of the best.
I plan to keep lots of notes so that I can write a trip report when I return.
Merry Christmas to all.
