Hi there,

We're home (unfortunately). Got back on Saturday morning from a rather chilly Orlando  Thankfully, overall we had pretty great weather, but boy from Thanksgiving onwards it was COLD. I'm so glad we took our coats - totally worth the strange looks we got when boarding the plane - amateurs :lmao:

Anyway, we had an awesome time despite Dad's illness, which thankfully he seems to now have recovered from just as we've returned home - typical!
The crowds were very low the first week and were very manageable even around Thanksgiving. The resort was fantastic and we all agreed that if/ when we buy into DVC, SSR should be our "home". We can't wait to go back next year :cool1: As for having free dining, it was every bit as good as we'd hoped. Although we love our favourite restaurants offsite, we didn't miss them at all.
The food in Disney is overpriced, but not having to assess whether paying $35 for a tiny piece of fish (Coral Reef) was worth it, we could just enjoy what essentially overall is very good food (or certainly the dishes we sampled).
We worked out that we "spent" roughly $2,250 on food during the 2 weeks and we actually managed to use every last one of our credits (and shockingly we didn't come home with loads of Pez etc in our suitcases). Taking that total an the price of the tickets off the total price of the WDW UK package, means that the accomodation worked out at about £10/ night :woohoo:

I'll try to get round to doing a brief trippie soon for anyone that's interested.

Thanks guys, by the way, for all the help with planning this last trip :thumbsup2

I'm itching now to get on with planning our trip next October/ November :rolleyes1 After all, I better get a move on - it's only 10 months, 28 days until I go :lmao:

I'm most definitely interested as I'm tentatively planning a trip to SSR with free dining for August :)

:goodvibes

Welcome home, glad you enjoyed the DDP. We did but we did miss eating offsite a lot. No way would I pay the prices Disney charge for a lot of the food so it was a great way to try Disney dining.
Our food worked out at £91($150)/day which was exactly the same price we paid for the studio at OKW. £100/night for next August so will have to see if I can eat more expensive meals to get my monies worth:goodvibes

Luke just book it, we know you want to:rotfl:

I did a 'dummy' booking for SSR for the same thing that we want (2 weeks in a studio, dining and park tickets) but for the end of July (still school holidays, i have to as I'm a teacher) and it came up at nearly £3900!!! Over £2000 more than what it costs two weeks later!!!
So I think I'm definitely gonna book it when DW finds out she
can get the time off! So I look forward to Tink's TR :)

:goodvibes

I just compared ours, 3 adults for 21 nights (incl 3 x 21 day tix), before free DDP & 47% discount £6,068.37, when 2 offers are on in August £2,877 (over £3,000 saving) :thumbsup2
