Ok everyone we arrived today!!! First time at the Grand Californian ALWAYS stay across the street at BWPPI. We flew Southwest and arranged for the Californiasupershuttle to pick us up. They called us earlier that morning before we left the house to confirm our reservation and called to let us know they were outside waiting for us...very good customer service...very safe driving...52.00 for our family of 4....NO other stops.
Arrived at the Grand at 4pm (I did call them to let them know I was at the airport and coming in soon but honestly I don't know if that helped or not...they ar not really that busy this week...so I've been told several times by cast members).
Check in was a BREEZE and the kids watched cartoons in the cute little chairs right around the corner (how cute is that AND what a help). I requested a 2 queen/daybed, to be close to the elevator AND a park view! We ended up with 2 out of 3 (all but the park view) and I'm ok with that!
The room is FANTASTIC with plenty of room for our party of 5 (of course one is in the portacrib and the other is on the daybed). Our room was ready at 4 and we went straight up to unpack. Within a few minute our Albertson's order was here. They brought all our staples up to the room and unloaded for us. It was seriously great, timely and I even got a humidifier (our 2 year old has a bit of a cough).
We all went down to the pool to let my 7 year old swim and there were only 2 other families there. She was amazed at how warm it was. Then dad and the baby got in and they all had such a great time...at one point we were the only ones there and as I sat there watching my family on those AMAZINGLY comfy lounge chairs it was THEN I realized how worth it the nightly rates are. I seriously have been here only a few hours and I LOVE IT!!! I'm in heaven!! And I haven't even been to the parks!!!
I step out of my room and hear the piano playing a disney tune...heck I can open my room door and hear it!! It's really amazing...I can't stop typing!! My mom just cracked the door with a shoe, she's reading, I'm typing the kids are asleep (and dh) and we can hear the piano...we're in room 4103.
Ok, all are asleep and I'm headed there myself. I'll report more tomorrow night and check in with you all
