Since we lost our big trees during Wilma (big roots under the driveway), we decided to have a paver driveway installed. The excavation was done yesterday, quick process. The rock foundation was poured with more sand to follow. We had the first inspection today. I can't wait until it's done!

I've been parking my vehicle in a neighbor's driveway and she wanted to know if the window tint was legal? WTH? :confused3 It better be, as it came that way from the factory. :confused3

Anyway, if anyone wants to follow the process along, I'd be happy to post pics. :teeth:

I'd love to see your pictures. I just had a new driveway put in as well. It's concrete from the street to the garage (also new) but I used pavers at the apron part at the street, then a couple of rows to break up the concrete look, and I have a small area that's a pull-in parking court, which I did with the pavers as well. They look fantastic!!! It was too expensive to do my whole driveway in the pavers, though. Mine are a gray color, two sizes, and laid in a pretty pattern. I love them!!! If the concrete ever cracks or looks terrible, I'm going to dig it up and put pavers on the whole driveway...

I'd love to follow along and see your pics. :sunny:
I have been wanting to get pavers for our driveway, too!

We really need to do something with the pool area. It still has the old cracked river rock around the pool. Not too nice! Anyhoo, I could never decide if we should get pavers out back or cool deck - so we just let it go and made no decision at all. :teeth: :confused3 If we ever get it fixed we need to have the pool resurfaced, too.

Let me know how the driveway comes out.

Hi Rita! :wave2:

How exciting! I just love the looks of pavers! Yes, please post pics!

We had our walkway done from front porch to driveway (about 6 feet) & that was $1100. Can you say "OUCH??" But I just love it! We had it done very curvy too & it looks sexy :lmao: . We have gotten so many compliments on it. I wish we could do the whole driveway or even just have the driveway ribboned but I don't want to invest too much more money in this house. Last year we did professional landscaping in the front yard as well as granite countertops in kitchen & all bathrooms except for one. All that cost us nearly $10,000. Yep, we're done!

You will just LOVE the pavers.

Waiting for photos!

Rose

Here are the pics of the finished driveway. Now we need to paint our front door and take care of the landscaping. :bitelip: :bitelip:

If it's not too personal, would you mind posting a rough cost (per square foot) to do this? I've ALWAYS wanted a paver driveway - they look so classy. I'm wondering if it's in my budget.

Can't wait to see the finished project! Keep us posted!

No problem, it's not too personal. :teeth: We are looking at about 1100 sq. ft., which works out about $5+ per sq. ft. That amount doesn't include the permit fees, the pressure cleaning and sealing.

There are so many choices in colors, shapes, patterns, etc. It's totally overwhelming. If you choose a lighter color paver, which is considered a white cement blend selection, it costs more. Of course, the nicer colors are a white cement blend. :teeth: The colors that we chose are in the white cement blend group. If you're going to spend so much money on a project, you might as well get what you want.

I so read the title of this thread as, "We're having PRAYERS installed in our driveway!"

I thought :confused3: but, okay...

can't wait to see the finished project. We just bought a house and there are so many things we want to do to it and it's not a bad house to begin with!

I thought so, too. :rotfl:

I love Pavers, I can't have them in my driveway though. Stupid HOA.

When we did the landscaping around our pool area, we had pavers installed for our patio/walkway. They were installed from the bottom of our porch steps to the front gate on the fence that surrounds the pool. If you go to http://community.webshots.com/user/luvflorida and click on the landscaping pictures you'll see a few pics of the pavers. It can be seen in pictures #4, 12, 16, and 18. Picture #18 probably shows the colors the best.

We LOVE the pavers and it was well worth the price. I'd love to see your finished driveway. I bet it's going to be gorgeous!! :)

Really? :confused3

LuvFl~ I remember those pics. :teeth: Everything looks beautiful! :thumbsup2

The crew is supposed to be here tomorrow. The installation should take one day, if all goes well. ;) We are having a lot of rain today, tomorrow doesn't look any better. We'll see what happens... :rolleyes1

It looks fantastic! :thumbsup2

I really want pavers, too. Since we live in the same area, could you tell me what company you used, or maybe a link to their website? Thanks.

Thanks! The paver colors really pick up the colors in the stone that's on the house. :thumbsup2

This is the company that went with. http://www.mcpavers.com/

Thanks for the link! I love the finished look pavers give. Your driveway came out great and it was fast, too! :sunny:

Looks great Rita! Love the color you picked. I think we have "Colonial" which is more on the reddish tone. I think pavers make a house look classier!

We did not have ours sealed ~ are you going to?
