We're Happier than a Tornado in a Trailer Park/UPDATE--Makin a list, checkin it twice

Hello! :wave2: I like your Disney box. All of my stuff is currently sitting on top of my dresser, waiting to be packed. I am not that organized, lol. :rotfl2: My DH, DS & I are going to be in Disney for Halloween as well (10/26 - 11/01) at Pop. I have tickets for MNSSHP on 10/28. What day will you be going? We also live in NC, between Greensboro and Durham and will be driving down on 10/25. I am lucky enough to have in-laws in Ocala. Maybe we will run into each other at a park while we're down there.

Love the box!! What a cool idea. I should be so organized...:rolleyes1

.

A disney box? Why didn't I think of that! Its a good way to stay organized. I was constantly hunting down my Disney stuff from all over the house.

-Becca-

I have a really small house, so organization is imparitive. When we go to Wal Mart or to the Disney store, I pick up 1-2 things, and then pop them in th ebox. I go back every once in awhile to reorganize.

Wow, Mary! We are going to be at MNSSHP the same day. Coincidence, huh? I know almost exactly where you live. We live just southeast of Lumberton right on the NC/SC state line. In fact, both dh and I work in SC and our children go to school in SC. How lucky of you to be going for a full week! We wanted to, but our dog, cat, and chickens won't want us gone that long. They like our neightbor, but not that much.

I like to be organized, but I wish I was better at it at other things than stuff I really want to do (like planning for Disney).

We have an ADR at 1900 Pare Fare for dinner before the party. Right now I have planned that we will be wearing matching black Jack Skellington T-shirts and I will have my lime green Baggallini of course! Our cats usually do well leaving them home alone. I leave the TV on Animal Planet. :rotfl: I do have a friend's son check on them every other day. I am so looking forward to this trip. How many days do we have left now?

We have an ADR for Crysta Palace just before. I don't know how we will be dressed--dh and I have not talked about it. I will have my Lime Green Mickeys on my fanny pack and bookbag. My three kids will be: Pocahontas (Sweetie), Harry Potter (Big Ole Boy) and Minnie Mouse (Boo). Dh and I will probably be wearing matching t-shirts of some kind. We'll have to plan on a meet!

Only 124 days left!

Fresh back from our trip to Myrtle Beach, I realized something--wen my kids are on vacation, they don't eat! I remember thinking about food last year and realized that we didn't that much then, either. So, last night, after much soul searching, we made the hard decision to go from the DxDP to the DDP. And, with almost tears in my eyes, I canceled some ADRs. So this what we have left:

UPDATE!!!!! We just can't go without the DxDP! We'll find a way to eat all that food. See post 47 for the ressies. Sadly, no HDDR, but we do have Narcoossee's! YUMMO!

We also planned for a rest day to go to DTD in the iddle of the trip because the kids really enjoyed the day I had not planned a lot last week.

So, this is what our week looks like:
Day 1: check into Quality Inn
Day 2: MK
Day 3: DHS
Day 4: Epcot
Day 5: MK/MNSSHP
Day 6: AK

Did you try out the new Hard Rock Park?

Are you going to be at Aksershus for breakfast on 10/27? We have an ADR there at 8:30!

No--we did not. We kind of felt that $250 for one day at the park was not a good deal when our kids generally are not coaster riders. I have heard good things about it though.

Yes, but our ressies are at 9:50. I would have liked earlier, but could not get them.

They realized their prices were high for the locals and have since went down. It's $39 now w/ a NC or SC ID and 3 and under are FREE! If you work in hospitality you can go on Tuesdays for $25 and upgrade to a season pass for $50 more if you wish.

HRP made the mistake of not advertising all they have to offer children and families. They still need more rides, especially in the kids section but not once have I seen the HUGE playground advertised! Or the rock climbing walls and sky trails! They have the "Banana Splits" over there now for kids in addition to their Bear Metal Family and Winston the Bulldog. All three shows they have are GREAT! Especially the ice skating show! My 2 year old is amazed by it! My older kids LOVE the foam ball pit and the water park area. There's more to do out there than people think. Their advertising is horrible. They really need to cater to families more!

Where are you guys at, near Tabor City? If you do decide to go to HRP PM before ya go and I'll give ya a bunch of free passes to play games and stuff! If anyone you know comes they're welcome to have them. :)

Wow--that would be great! I live near Tabor City (closer to Fair Bluff), but work in Mullins. I see you are in Coastal Carolina--Horry County, I take it?

Well, 3 months away, and I am pretty sure in a couple of weeks I'll be calling Disney to remove the Dining Plan from our trip altogether. We've been doing some number crunching, and really looking at what we'd like to eat, rather than how we would force ourselves to eat for the Dining Plan, and I think we'd just be better off with keeping 2-3 ADRs (LTT, CP, and Princess Storybook bkfst). But then again, that means we'd give up HDDR. Or maybe not. I am going to wait and see if DH gets a promotion at work and then determine where we'll go from there.

For those of you not familiar with the Disney box (a few posts back), it's a box that I have been tossing in Disney-related stuff I buy. Back in March/April, I took the first photo of it, and just for a recap, this is what it was then:

IMG_0091.jpg

Today, I repacked the box. See, I had all of these plastic 2-gallon Ziploc bags left from the Beach that I just tossed haphazardly into the Disney Box and well, it's been 1.5 months since the Beach trip. So, as of today, this is what it looks like:

And just for the full effect, I decided to lay it all out on the dining room table.

20080801001.jpg

And just so you all can see them, yes, the family will be wearing matching t-shirts on the 1st day.

The question is, will dh wear a matching t-shirt?

I bought the same shirts! I got ours in different colors. DS is Lime Green, DH is Red and mine is Turquoise. They are very cute. I hope I can get my DH to wear it. My Disney stuff has moved from the top of my dresser into the suitcase. It's mostly clothes, swimsuits and a few Halloween decorations for our window at Pop.

I haven't even thought of Halloween decorations! Must hop over to Oriental Trading today. . .

My stuff is in a drawer but I love taking it out now and then and laying it all out on the bed in that room! I'm almost done with my "need to buy" list so the drawer is almost full!! :woohoo:

I love your t-shirts! If my DH can wear a red shirt with Mr. Incredible on it that says "Dad," then certainly your DH can wear one that just has a "Disney" logo on it!! :rotfl: Tell him "Real men wear matching shirts with their families while at Disney World!" :lmao: Point out that he'll look odd if everyone else has on those shirts and his is different.

.

I have a box too! We also have matching shirts for one day. I just don't know which day we will wear them. LOL

Somebody's been shopping at the Disney Stores! :goodvibes

Just a little bit. . . :rotfl: After all, when the t-shirts are just $4.00 on clearance, who can blame me for picking up 5 (or 10)? I mean, that's only $20, and the whole family gets one! :)

DH says he already looks like Mr. Incredible. :rolleyes1 No comment.

The box is great, isn't it? I'll pull the stuff out like LegoMom does with her drawer. It's getting closer! 81 days! :cool1:
