We're going to SSR (& BCV too)

We're bringing another family along and they have never been to WDW ever. So, our first 2 nights were originally planned to be a cash ressie at BCV linked to our point ressie immediately following. Well, with the trip reports and photos of SSR I just had to see if I could make some magic happen for our trip in July. So I called MS this morning and we're in!!! I couldn't believe it. We'll be at SSR on July 1 & 2, then following up with BCV for 7/4 through 7/11. I'm pumped up about this. Can't wait to tell everyone.

How far is the High Rock pool from the Congress Heights buildings? Is the Community Hall fully functional? How about the playground area? Is that open yet?

My understanding is that all of the amenties at SSR are fully opened as of 5/17/04. Congress Heights does not sound right, is it Congress Park or something else like that? I have read that the first few buildings to open are a hike to the other amenities.

We are new SSR DVC members, but will be staying at BCV for our first trip "home." Of course, we will make a visit over to SSR to see what we bought when it was just an artist rending in 10/03.

the playground was not open as of Saturday, but it was the only common use thing we could find that wasnt open. Butu it looked close enough to being ready that it will probably be opne once you arrive.

The pool isnt too far away. we walked to it all the time, but I could see where some people would find it too far.

We leave in 10 days for BCV for 5 nights, & then I also called recently & added 3 nights at SSR for our family. I was really excited to be able to do this b/c we keep saying we would like to try all the DVC resorts! Hope you have a great trip!!
