In our family, you get to pick where you want to eat on your Birthday and Justin picked Red Lobster. Gene is less than thrilled, he loves seafood, but not Red Lobster. I'm looking forward to Lobster Fest. :) There used to be a couple of really good seafood chains around here, but they've gone out of business.

Do you have a favorite seafood restaurant and is it a chain?

Also, do you have a Chesapeake Bay Seafood House nearby or a Boston Sea Party?

I love seafood and I've always considered Red Lobster to be subpar. The best seafood I find tends to be in non-chain seafood restaurants. Nice hotels often have great seafood bufftes.

I'm warming up to Joe's Crab Shack. They're running the Shrimp Crazy promotion and the shrimp has been good....:D

I wish we had a good seafood place closer to us.

I can't drag my husband in Red Lobster - no way, no how. I on the other hand don't mind it, but I wouldn't say it's my favorite.

Have fun tonight! Enjoy the cheesy buscuits :) now those are good!!!

Have a good time anyway. Red Lobster seafood is better than no seafood. :) Have someone try the lobster pizza and report back!

We haven't been to Red Lobster for about a year, but I thought the food was good, but a little high priced. Our local places have a lot better food at reasonable prices. I almost always get the seafood platter which usually has lake perch, shrimp, scallops, haddock, walleyed pike and sometimes frog legs! I'm getting very hungry!!!

We used to have a Boston Sea Party but it's LONG gone.

My favorite is Pappadeaux - it's a small chain run by the Pappas family. I hear that the crawfish stinks, though.

Red Lobster, on a Friday in Lent? Be prepared for a long wait, like one and a half hours!

Red Lobsters here, but never had a good meal there. We have not been to one in years. Dover Straits, not a chain, is great here.

I love Red Lobster! We go quite often.
I always seem to order the same thing...
The 9oz. rock lobster tail, and substitute shrimp rockafeller for the potato choice...and caesar salad.
Plus, gotta have the coconut shrimp appetizer, lol.

Ok, it is nearly 3 in the afternoon and since I'm not in the office today I suppose I should figure something out for dinner. This thread makes me think going out is a good idea. But I have to agree Friday during Lent could make RL a LONNNGGGG wait.

Okay, now I am jealous :D ! Red Lobster is my favorite and there aren't any close to me anymore. Enjoy and pass on Happy Birthday to your son!

oops, I also wanted to say Happy Birthday! to your son too!

Have a great time!

We went to Red Lobster last Saturday, and I got the Lobster Paradise. It consisted of a good sized lobster tail and 4 jumbo coconut shrimp with pina colada dipping sauce. It as delish!

I like Red Lobster and although it's not a "seafood" place I like Bahama Breeze, I always get a fish or seafood dish there.
Happy Birthday to Justin!:D

We love Red Lobster too!!

The kids love the Cheese buscuits and the popcorn shrimp.

But our favorite seafood chain is Legal Seafood -- unfortunately, none around the Midwest. I think it is found mostly in the East Coast? We gone to the ones in Boston and DC area.

Hey! That's where I'm going tonight with friends to celebrate
my birthday (few days late). Not sure if it has opened yet at this shopping center, but if not we'll go to one of the other restaurants there.

We odn't have any really good seafood places in our rural Indiana area so Red Lobster is it.

I love their LobsterFest Salman with mashed potatoes. The salmon is never "fishy" and the sauce & potatoes are like comfort food.

They have Red Lobster in Toronto where I used to live. Unfortunately, there are none in Vancouver. It would be very popular, I think.

I'm a native Baltimorean, where the seafood is plentiful, and wonderfully prepared. Fortunately for me, I still live within 40 miles of Baltimore. :)

My favorite place for seafood is a place called Bo Brooks - they have the best hard crabs ever! I also like Legal Seafood - we have one both in Washington, and in Baltimore. And here in Washington we have another famous seafood place that has been around for years called Crisfields - yum! I like seafood to be very fresh, which is one reason I don't care for Red Lobster, at least in this area. The food is frozen then reheated, blech. I do love those biscuits at Red Lobster though! :)

I know other people who really like Red Lobster, so maybe its just the one in our area that isn't so good. Enjoy your dinner tonight, Holland family! :)

Red Lobster...used to have a Resteraunt called "The Chesapeak" but has since closed.:( We now go to Catfish Dewey's in Ft. Lauderdale or Islamorada Fish house in Dania. Don't have a Bahama Breeze near us, but, I will turn DH on to it, I know he will like it.;)
