We're going to float away!!! Rain.......

I'm glad to hear that. My friends who live in Claremont, CA called me yesterday morning as they were on their way to DLR for a Disneyland forecast. :lmao: I asked them "is it raining hard?" They said "yes". I said, "You'll have a crowd-free day."

Glad to hear I was right. ;) But now I'm sad I didn't get to go. :sad1:

I was sorry I wasn't there, too. Nooo...instead I'm stupid and am going during Spring Break.........:headache:

Aww, see, now I think snow would be fun!

It's raining pretty hard down here (still? again?) and ugh, hate going out and everything getting wet!!! Boo rain.

Snow is fun! I love it!

Be safe!! Snow.......I don't miss it that much. LOL

You've never lived in the snow have you? :rotfl: I have, before I moved to CA I lived in the mountains of Oregon....gorgeous but cold and snowy........I can honestly say I don't miss it that much. And when I start to miss we drive up to the mountains and then I remember why I didn't miss it before. LOL

When I (briefly) lived in southern California....one thing I missed most about the midwest was the weather/seasons. Funny how different people have different perspectives of weather. I hated socal weather. There were basically two seasons where I lived - spring and summer. And unfortunately...Fall and Winter are my favorite seasons. I hate hot weather with a passion.

Just a heads up, the Parks were hard closed (no extra hour on Main Street) early today. Disneyland Park will close at 9 PM (scheduled for 11 PM) and DCA closed at 6 PM (scheduled for 8 PM).

If this weather keeps up into tomorrow, I would expect the same thing to happen. It was just terrible today.

I didn't know the parks closed early because of rain. How odd. Hope they don't do that on our trip next month.

Truthfully I would rather take the rain than the four feet of snow and the -40 with wind chill weather we're having here! :cool1: Gotta love Alberta!

I love snow and cold weather. But that's a bit much...even for me! haha. We had windchills in the negative 20's a few days ago. I was not a fan. We only got a couple inches of snow though. I would have liked a little more...but not 4 feet...haha.

My daughter has been at Disneyland this week and she said that today there were so few people, they got to stay on the rides and go again on almost all of them. I guess that's a plus worth being there in the rain for!

We're getting a lot of rain here, too...but no snow. We're just a touch north of Phoenix.
At least it makes it seem a little more like Christmas....

I always loved Disneyland in the rain. It can be a little uncomfortable but fun at the same time. It's a whole different experience.

Hey, I grew up in Sonoma County! Both DH and I grew up in Santa Rosa.

Small world isn't it? You should come to our mini meet next month!! I know your sister won't be around but you're close enough to meet us right? I wish you could both be there!!

Oh god......I would DIE, seriously. I am not made for cold weather!! LOL Some people are but I could not do it, I have been cold since Thanksgiving weekend. lol

That settles it, I knew you were weird. LOL  :upsidedow :goodvibes I'd rather have warmer, even hot weather, but not humid or cold. My body is so particular, humidity gives me migraines (and I get enough of those without any help) so I avoid those states which is hard because DBF's sister and her family live in PA. We went a few years ago in July (for the 4th) and I had a migraine the whole 5 days we were there. :( It was horrible but I dealt with it. I would go back too, I fight migraines with all that I have. And cold.....it's just not right.....lol Seriously, again I will deal but I'd rather stay away from it whenever possible. My favorite seasons are more spring and fall over summer and winter.

I didn't know they closed early either......they didn't the 2 trips we did in Jan. last year and one of those was just miserably rainy, drenching rains and cold. There were no lines but it was wet and cold!! I think we will be OK tho, both of us. Most nights the parks close earlier anyway for our trips. :)

I agree about DL in the rain, it's really quite fun to be there when it's raining out. :)

Well we were one of the crazy ones there yesterday (we actually got there when it was pouring around 1pm). I was surprised that it wasn't deserted considering how wet it was. There was a line for every ride we went on (not one walk on!!), but that could have been because we chose the indoor que (sp?) rides and got there later in the day.

Of course today it's gorgeous, but we could only go yesterday afternoon--my oldest really want to see Small World decorated for the holidays and yesterday she had a minimum day (FINALS time!) so we zipped over there after she was done.

We had a lot of fun (and I got a ton of pins for the younger kids Xmas stockings), but boy was it cold and wet :scared1: I even bought new socks from GCH so I could drive home with dry feet.

I hate heat and humidity. The only saving grace of summer here is that I know it won't last too long. And we have air conditioning....haha.

It was pouring all day at Disneyland when we were there last November. They closed a few rides, but that was it.

Oh yeah...and I am definitely weird. For many, many reasons...haha.

When is the mini meet?

When is the mini meet?

The 3rd or 4th, hopefully the 4th because we are driving down the 3rd and won't get in until late. I think that Jasmine and her gang are leaving on Monday the 5th or Tuesday the 6th but I can't remember exactly. We are going to try to finalize something after Christmas. :)

I wish I would've known about this message board back when I lived in socal. I could have gone to the mini meets and stuff. Boo.

I'll keep an eye out for the date when it's finalized and see if I can go. DS has a busy schedule with various therapies/appointments but I'll see if I can fit in a trip over there.

You know it's a good day when you only have to shovel your sidewalk once! LOL

Yep, that's Boca Park. I am always in that Target since it's like 5 minutes down the hill from me. I live halfway between that, and the Red Rock casino. Being that close to a Target and Cheesecake Factory is so bad for my wallet and waistline!!!! :scared1: :rolleyes1
Do you live in that area as well?

No, we actually live further in the valley- wish we lived up there! When we were house shipping, our pre-req was a huge yard, which you know isn't easy to come by in Vegas unless you have a lot of money or are willing to buy a much older house! So we ended up with an older house further in the valley. That IS the Cheesecake Factory we go to (too often- LOL) as well as Claim Jumpers and the Melting Pot! I LOVE that Target- very nice! Almost as nice as the brand new one out in Henderson towards St Rose De Lima :D

Yeah, the yards here are pretty pathetic. LOL
I love that Claim Jumpers too. We'll be going there on Christmas Eve for dinner.

I've never been to the Melting Pot. I should check it out sometime. Maybe after shopping at Target. :thumbsup2 Then again, maybe not. I'm usually broke after doing that. :rotfl:

Well, it's always nice to talk with another Las Vegan on the DIS. :)

This is my first one with more than 1 couple. LOL I met another Diser last year, we met up in Adventureland and took a couple of pictures but that was it. I'm excited for this one because I will be meeting many more people and we will be planning a lunch meet. At a CS restaurant but it will be FUN!!

I'll keep an eye out for the date when it's finalized and see if I can go. DS has a busy schedule with various therapies/appointments but I'll see if I can fit in a trip over there.

YAY!! I hope you can make it!! :)
